Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 401: Chapter 400: Liver Activity, Who Cares About the Plot?

”Japan again?”

When the dizziness from time-traveling flashed by, and Fang Zheng saw the broken street sign beneath his feet, he couldn’t help but exclaim.

Having traveled through so many worlds, he had some expectations by now. Speaking of vehicle-centric worlds, Fang Zheng still preferred the ones in Europe and America because whether it was games, movies, or animation, at least those vehicles belonged to the science fiction genre—they just looked so cool!

As for Japan... when it comes to vehicles, isn’t the first thing that comes to mind those giant humanoid robots?

”It couldn’t really be Gundam, could it...”

As he talked to himself, Fang Zheng looked around. In front of him was an unfortunate place where one could still see half a building submerged in seawater. Not far behind was the everyday... But as for whether there was such a scene in Gundam, Fang Zheng admitted he couldn’t quite remember. He wasn’t very interested in humanoid robots like Gundam, only knowing roughly the plot and able to recite the protagonist’s name—that’s about it. However, if it was really the world of Gundam, then Fang Zheng was truly out of luck. He wouldn’t want that broken thing even if they paid him—on the other hand, those motherships had some value as showpieces...

”Anyway, let me first take a look...”

While speaking, Fang Zheng opened the system, but this time the system didn’t give him much information. Not only could the Heavenly Dao Palace not unfold here, even the Summoning Stone was limited to just one use, and as for the Soulstone, only Bald Guy could use it... everything else was crossed out in red.

”I can only summon Nymph?”

Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised by this. Instance dungeons had their restrictions, and naturally, the rewards from restricted instances were quite generous. Judging by the restrictions of the instance, it was clearly a science fiction type, so anything magical could be ignored. So next...

”In any case, let’s summon Little Angel first.”

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng shrugged his shoulders; then, he reached out and moved a Summoning Stone within the Dimensional Codex. Soon, accompanied by a series of blue rings flashing in front of Fang Zheng, Nymph appeared before him.

”Master, did you call for me?”

”Mhm.”

Upon hearing Nymph’s inquiry, Fang Zheng nodded.

”This world is a bit complicated; only the powers on the technological side are allowed in. So now, I can only rely on you. First, help me figure out what kind of world this is.”

”Yes, Master.”

In response to Fang Zheng’s command, Nymph nodded. Then, Little Angel extended her right hand, and soon, streaks of Radiance emerged from her fingertips and spread into the air.

”... Accessing local network, infiltrating... Infiltration complete, beginning to search for key files...”

As Nymph spoke, circles of light began to appear in Little Angel’s eyes.

”... Found it, Master.”

”Oh?”

Fang Zheng wasn’t surprised by Nymph’s answer; after all, Little Angel could even instantly breach Ironblood networks. This kind of task should be nothing for her.

”Mmm... early 21st century...”

Dammit, it better not be EVA. That thing is ugly, dumb, and prone to going berserk—I wouldn’t want it even if they paid me.

”... Due to severe climate changes, humanity lost most of its land territory, while at the same time, unidentified creatures emerged from the depths of the sea and began attacking humans...”

... This plot sounds so familiar. Could it be Fleet Girls?!

Hearing this, Fang Zheng also shuddered. As a benchmark for top-up mobile games, he, of course, knew about this game. But the problem was... although they were all warships in there, these warships were personified, damn it!!

Just imagine oneself riding on the shoulder of a Fleet Girl, then crossing arms, puffing out the chest, and raising the head, while the Fleet Girl below strides briskly over the sea towards Golden Bay... Damn, that’s definitely not a beautiful picture to look at!!

”... Humans have named this creature... ’Sea Mist’...”

”Huh?”

At this point, Fang Zheng was startled. frёeωebɳovel.com

”Isn’t it the Deep Sea?”

”It’s Sea Mist, Master.”

As Nymph spoke, she reached out and drew in the air, and soon, a warship that appeared mostly like an ordinary one but with a few fluorescent bands materialized before Fang Zheng.

”... What’s the difference between this and an ordinary warship?”

Looking at the 3D image before him, Fang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what, it didn’t look like those creatures contaminated with nuclear pollution, which meant he wouldn’t have to ride a Fleet Girl’s neck and dash about the streets...

Nymph didn’t speak but quickly played the footage, and then, in front of Fang Zheng, a battle scene between humans and the thing called Sea Mist appeared.

... Motherfucker, it’s a disguise!

It wasn’t until he saw the battle footage that Fang Zheng finally realized why humanity couldn’t beat what looked like a warship with just a premium skin. The reason was simple... aside from the outer shell being no different from an ordinary warship, everything else about it was totally different!

Human warships fire shells, but these creatures release lasers. Not to mention the deck bristling with vertical launch tubes, they even come with their own Protective Barrier?

This couldn’t be a Transformer in disguise, could it?

After watching the battle footage, Fang Zheng finally understood why humans at sea were being defeated so miserably. You can’t even breach their defenses, and if they touch you lightly, you’re done for. There’s no way to fight them!

”... Nymph, do humans have any secret weapon against this?”

After a quick search, Fang Zheng realized that this thing was definitely not something he could casually handle. And since this was an ”event map,” there had to be a target he needed to aim for before he could start grinding. According to the nature of Japanese ACG, shouldn’t there be some kind of secret weapon that nobody but the protagonist could activate?

Like a clone with one’s mother’s soul, or a Mecha that only a man could equip... Isn’t that the general pattern?

”... I couldn’t find similar data, Master. However, based on the intrusion results, I did discover that there’s a Warship of Sea Mist captured by humans in warehouse number fifty-one at the port...”

”Beep...”

As Nymph finished speaking, Fang Zheng’s ears rang with that familiar system prompt sound, and quickly, a line of information appeared before his eyes.

[Event Quest Initiated: Fight Poison with Poison]

[Humanity is facing a grave threat, and this Warship of Sea Mist will be the key to everything. Only by obtaining it, will you be able to unlock a new key (Use any means to acquire the target object, and activate it, bonus reward for quest target +1)]

”Alright then.”

Looking at the quest prompt that appeared before him, Fang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief.

”Looks like we’ve found our main lead.”
