Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 412: Chapter 411: The Unfolding of a Clichéd Plot

Countless missiles screamed into the skies, heading towards the colossal entity that had appeared amidst the clouds.

”Boom boom boom!!!”

The massive form of the Blasphemer-Class moved slowly but unyieldingly forward. Although hundreds of flames burst before it, they only left a few strands of pitch-black marks on its pristine deck without even managing to blast open a single piece of its hull.

”Ugh... What a bunch of annoying pests!”

Enduring the enemy’s relentless bombardment, Takao, also infuriated, stomped her foot vigorously. In tandem with her movement, the decks on either side of the Blasphemer-Class instantly opened up, and a flurry of missile silos rapidly emerged. Missiles filled them up, and then, accompanied by plumes of white smoke like fireworks, a rain of missiles descending from the sky dragged the Warship of Sea Mist below into the destructive abyss.

Honestly, after Takao had been upgraded and remodeled, the damage she sustained when facing the Warship of Sea Mist was actually quite limited. Those missiles were at most a bit more significant than a little paper ball being thrown at her. But if someone kept being pelted by countless such paper balls, naturally, it would irritate anyone.

”Second wave, load!”

With a wave of Takao’s hand, the missile launchers on both sides quickly started to rotate again as the missiles rapidly filled up, making the originally pitch-black launchers one by one glow with a red radiance.

Initially, Takao wasn’t quite used to this style of combat. As a warship, she preferred the solid ground of combat upon the sea. To her, aerial battleships felt too untethered, awkwardly floating in the air, which made Takao somewhat uncomfortable. However, when launching missiles in a saturation attack, Takao truly enjoyed the spectacle—watching the barrage she created descending from the heavens, enveloping the sea surface in vast flames. The feeling was genuinely exhilarating.

And moreover...

Suddenly, at that instant, the firepower that had besieged Takao vanished instantly. Then, in Takao’s ears came Nymph’s crisp voice.

”Target acquired, all enemy weapon systems are offline, fire at will.”

”Roger that.”

Hearing Nymph’s command, Takao nodded, then raised her right hand and swung it down with force once again. Quickly, another wave of missiles rained down, and at this moment, the Deep Sea Light Cruisers, which had lost their power due to the invasion, naturally no longer had the ability to resist and were immediately blown to pieces.

”...No matter when I witness this scene, it always seems miraculous...”

Looking at the Warship of Sea Mist below, now like dead fish at her mercy, Takao couldn’t help but feel amazed. If there was anything in this strange fleet she feared, it was that little one named Nymph. Although Vampire was annoying, her attack power wasn’t particularly strong. Nymph, however, was a different story. Takao still remembered when she was forcefully taken offline, all her weapon systems shut down and her power cut off by the other party’s invasion. It felt as if her body and limbs had been severed, leaving only a head behind.

That feeling was truly unbearable, not to mention that afterward, the other party forcefully entered her body and left her in complete disarray...

Since then, Takao almost always took a detour whenever she saw Nymph.

”Target completely silenced, mission accomplished.”

As Nymph’s voice rang out once more, Takao then saw another white warship quietly appearing out of thin air nearby, ghost-like in its silence. Meanwhile, beams of tractor light shot out from it, probing into the wreckage of the light cruisers below.

Thinking back, where did this fleet come from?

Initially, Takao thought this fleet must be humanity’s latest secret weapon, but she soon felt that something was not quite right. She could accurately identify Iona’s signal, and moreover, this aerial warship was clearly not something current human technology could produce. After all, if humanity truly possessed such technology, then the Sea Mist, even if not utterly routed, would be in complete disarray.

But the group of people in front of them seemed only to be wandering aimlessly, incidentally clearing out Warships of Sea Mist along the way. No, it would be more accurate to say their apparent goal was simply to eliminate the Warships of Sea Mist...

”Ah....”

At that thought, Takao sighed. Joining this fleet, she did not know whether it was good or bad, but regardless, her sisters must surely view her as a traitor by now, just like they did with I-401. However, Takao was beginning to understand I-401’s perspective. The recent battle might have seemed underhanded to Takao, but it was undeniably effective. The tactics of the Warships of Sea Mist were almost nonexistent. According to that human, their combat method was ”If you’re not scared, just rush in” and ”If it’s a single line, just go for it.”

Though it was somewhat irritating to hear, Takao had to admit that what the man said was indeed true. His battle plan, although ”despicable and shameless,” was actually quite successful.

Could it be that a fleet commanded by humans was really so much better than the Sea Mist Fleet?

Forget it, this isn’t something for me to worry about.

Takao shook her head and then reopened the self-repair.

Everything would have to wait until their battle with Hiei to see the outcome.

Meanwhile, on Iona, Nymph had finally collected enough core material to create a Battleship-class Mind Model. Accordingly, Fang Zheng decisively spent five hundred Furniture Coins to exchange for a Battleship construction card for Nymph, and not long after, a brand new warship construction sequence appeared before Fang Zheng.

But this time, it would take a little longer...

”Four hours and forty minutes?”

Seeing the time displayed, Fang Zheng blinked in surprise. He had not expected it to take so long... But, logically speaking, the longer the time, the higher the quality, right? Had he hit the jackpot, and was about to get his hands on something really good?

But... nearly five hours was a bit too long.

He glanced at the time, which had just passed twelve. These Deep Sea Light Cruisers had come out early in the morning without sleep, only to get wiped out by Fang Zheng and his group. It’s said that the early bird catches the worm, but the early worm gets eaten by the bird—this saying truly wasn’t wrong. But... what to do for the next five hours? Simply wander aimlessly in the sky?

If Fang Zheng had a way to speed up the construction, it would be great, but unfortunately, there was no flamethrower in the shop that could be used to make an aluminum pot, so what else could Fang Zheng do but stupidly wait?

Fang Zheng certainly would not waste time like this. Since he had nothing else to do...

”Iona.”

”Yes, what can I do for you?”

”Look around for any good islands nearby. I’m giving you all a half day off. Go enjoy some sunbathing and rest on the beach!”

That’s right, blue skies and white clouds, beaches with beautiful girls, that’s living... Even grinding requires rest, doesn’t it?

After all, becoming bald is certainly not Fang Zheng’s goal!
