Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 402: Chapter 401: Born as a Weapon

Yokosuka Naval Base, Dock 51.

”Is this the place?”

Hiding in the shadows, Fang Zheng gazed at the warehouse below, dimly lit by a few lights. From the outside, it didn’t look like a place that would conceal any secret weapons. But that made sense; if there were secret weapons, having an eye-catching warehouse would only alert enemies to the secrets within.

It was already deep into the night, and the number of patrolling soldiers nearby was not very high. For a ”secret facility,” the defense seemed quite lax. However, Fang Zheng didn’t care about that. After Nymph had hacked into the base’s alarm system, he and Little Angel had silently breached the perimeter and arrived in front of Dock 51.

”Now is the time.”

”Yes, Master.”

After ensuring the nearby patrol team had left, Fang Zheng signaled Nymph, who nodded and then approached the hangar, waving her hand gently over it.

”Beep——”

The next moment, the door of the hangar slowly opened.

Walking into the hangar, with the help of the lights in front, Fang Zheng could see a blue submarine, uniquely shaped, docked inside. It was isolated by heavy restraints, and under the light, Fang Zheng could clearly see the name on it.

I-401.

”Hmm... I think I’ve seen this anime before...”

Seeing the submarine before him, Fang Zheng finally felt a slight impact from this world. If he remembered correctly, the setting of that anime was indeed similar to Fleet Girl. He had watched a few episodes on a colleague’s recommendation, but as for the plot... who the heck remembers the plot?

”Nymph, check the status of this submarine.”

Though it wasn’t Minerva or White Trojan Horse, which left Fang Zheng a bit disappointed, he thought again that submarines still had a cool factor. At least in the Main World, there was no such thing as a vessel that could travel underwater. It didn’t meet his expectations 100%, but 70% should be no problem.

But before that... he needed to secure this thing first!

Hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Nymph also extended her hand onto the submarine, and soon, rows of light screens appeared in front of her, and then Nymph’s eyes widened in surprise.

”This is...”

”What’s wrong, Nymph?”

”No... Master...” ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Hearing Fang Zheng’s query, Nymph shook her head, thinking for a moment as if she was considering how to phrase her words.

”I just analyzed the core of this Warship of Sea Mist, and found its core architecture is much more advanced than current human technology...”

”Could it be an alien life?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng also became curious, but Nymph shook her head.

”No, Master, according to the code retrospection, it can be determined that this is purely Earth’s civilization. Its fundamental core principles are not different from human civilization’s technologies, just more advanced.”

”This is really interesting...”

With Nymph’s description, Fang Zheng also understood what she meant. If these warships of the Sea Mist were from an alien civilization, then their core codes would definitely differ from those of Earth. The reason is simple: aliens would also have their own planets, and unless their star systems were identical to Earth’s, their planets’ rotation, orbit, atmospheric density, gravity conditions, etc. would definitely be different from Earth’s. The civilization and technology developed under these conditions would naturally be different from Earth’s.

According to Nymph’s analysis and judgment, this Warship of the Sea Mist was not from outer space; its core codes and reference values still matched Earth’s standard values. Therefore, Nymph determined that the Warship of Sea Mist came from within Earth and not from outer space.

”... Not only that, I discovered another issue, Master... the mental model of this warship relies on another core hidden inside for power. The warship itself is not sufficient to provide complete core operation instruction data. Moreover, the core directives inside are engraved with underlying code and the highest priority command — find a person named Chihaya Gunzou and become his warship.”

”Is there a way to deal with this issue?”

”Of course, if it’s about altering data on the information level, nothing can rival me, Master.”

Facing Fang Zheng’s query, Nymph nodded, then she stretched out her hand and waved it through the void.

”Reconstruct the core code again, engage multiple core linkages...”

”————”

Accompanied by Nymph’s words, the blue submarine in front of them began to gradually manifest radiance.

”Core linkage processing completed, beginning to modify the base code, deleting extraneous commands...”

The radiance on the warship grew increasingly dazzling, and at the same time, countless pentagonal grids started to appear around the submarine, connecting as a whole.

”...Inputting engraving system command code, database revision completed.”

At this point, Nymph lowered her hand, and at the same time, the submarine, previously flickering with pale blue radiance, returned to its former state.

”Modification completed, Master, just place your hand on it, and it can be activated.”

So it still requires fingerprint activation.

Hearing Nymph’s report, Fang Zheng curiously glanced at the submarine in front of him and then stepped forward to place his hand on the warship.

”-------------!!”

Swiftly, following Fang Zheng’s action, the submarine in front of him once again emitted a dazzling blue light, and immediately afterward, the entire body of the submarine began to tremble. If it weren’t for Nymph having already disconnected the detection and alarm systems here, by now it probably would have been a ceaseless blaring of alarms.

Following that, a light beam shot out from the surface of the submarine, shining in front of Fang Zheng, and then, a figure slowly emerged from it.

It was a beautiful girl with pale blue hair and green eyes, dressed in a dark blue sailor suit. Her doll-like exquisite face showed no emotion; she simply quietly watched Fang Zheng in front of her, then, the girl slowly began to speak.

”I-401 activated, identification confirmed...Master.”

”Hello, my name is Fang Zheng.”

Looking at the girl in front of him, Fang Zheng began to speak with a smile.

”What is your name?”

”My identification code is Iona, Master, I am the Mind Model of the Sea Mist Fleet submarine I-401.”

The girl glanced at Fang Zheng and then responded.

”We are weapons, we live to obey commands and fight, that is what we are... Therefore, we crave commands, so please, issue a command, Master.”

”Uh......”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng was slightly taken aback, then he glanced at Nymph.

Why does this sound so familiar?

And facing Fang Zheng’s questioning gaze, Nymph responded with a very proud smile—It seems Little Angel is the hidden hand behind this.

But thankfully, at least Nymph had not transformed Iona into her original state; had Iona also come out with an ”I can do anything, please, Master, do not abandon me” demeanor, Fang Zheng really would have been in despair.

”Ding------”

Meanwhile, the system notification sound also appeared in front of Fang Zheng, along with subtitles.

It’s really just leveling up, isn’t it?

Looking at the activity prompts in front of him, Fang Zheng sighed, then he looked up at Nymph and Iona.

”Nymph, release the shackles, Iona, prepare to set sail!”
