Chapter 1141: Chapter 678: Champion Ace

No place to hide.

What should Kingdra do?

Genji’s judgment is to swap the substitute for the real body.

Cradily unleashed [Powerful Whip], shooting four glowing tentacles towards Kingdra, but Kingdra seemed to shed its skin like the Golden Cicada, its body surface glowing, then immediately splitting into a complete body!

In an instant.

Two green tentacles suddenly wrapped around the front Kingdra’s substitute, while the remaining two continued on to capture its real body.

Unfortunately, the opponent immediately retreated beyond the tentacles’ maximum reach.

Cradily frantically tried to extend but couldn’t grasp its main body, so it turned to heavily thrash the substitute, eliminating it to prevent future threats.

At the same time.

Under the sandstorm’s assault, many Kingdra clones dissipated, and the green root shadow under Cradily continued to absorb blue light from underground into its body, quickly erasing the snow-white frozen marks left by the Frozen Beam on its cheek.

As if it was never hit.

Not to mention the Light Wall, the sandstorm weather also enhances Cradily’s Special Defense due to its Rock Attribute, making it easily withstand Kingdra’s Frozen Beam.

Recovery is extremely simple.

Their initial confrontation ended with Kingdra’s one-sided depletion of stamina.

Though it’s hard to determine victory from temporary advantage, anyone can see the current match’s rhythm is firmly in Da Wu’s grasp.

Genji’s Pokémon have been frequently suppressed since the match began.

Undoubtedly.

Skarmory played a crucial ”predecessor” role, causing Genji’s Pokémon to frequently enter and exit, after being hit by countless Invisible Rocks.

The subsequent Flygon gave Claydol so many opportunities to use techniques, compounding the disaster.

Kingdra is in trouble!

Baimu silently mourned for this Pokémon that was supposed to be the core Special Attacker of the Rain Team.

Even if it’s a Hexagon, lacking item support and Free and Easy Acceleration makes the opponent’s Water Attraction trait and rainy weather ineffective, halving Kingdra’s strength.

Critical hit...

Was the only turning point?

On the field.

Smoke Screen poured from Kingdra’s mouth again, covering a small part of the battle arena around Cradily.

The wind and sand howled as a small part of the black smoke dissipated, but most of it remained gathered like cotton, unaffected by erosion from the yellow sand.

Cradily remained unfazed.

Though Double Walls and sandstorm indeed have time limits, if Kingdra chooses to delay time, it can directly use Enhanced Techniques to strengthen itself.

It’ll be even harder to beat then!

Genji naturally understood this too, thus letting Kingdra quietly approach.

It suddenly appeared from the mist behind Cradily, spitting out a pure white vapor toward it.

It’s Yawn!

Baimu was momentarily stunned, quickly realizing something and looked at Da Wu.

Seeing the Yawn’s cloud enveloping Cradily, it didn’t pay any mind, immediately shooting four tentacles to wrap Kingdra while the other four whipped back and forth!

Bang bang!

The sound of repeated heavy strikes and Kingdra’s struggling motion showed the move’s strong power.

Although.

Kingdra’s durability is ultimately decent, the set of Powerful Whip couldn’t defeat it just yet.

Cradily tightly held onto Kingdra, preventing it from escaping, while four idle tentacles condensed a jade-green seed above.

Bang!

The seed burst into smoke.

[Seed of Suffering], a magical move that changes a Pokémon’s trait to [Insomnia].

In the game, it can only be used on the enemy, but in the animated world, it’s not so specific; perfectly aimed at oneself also works.

The majority of moves don’t differentiate between friend and foe.

The key is Da Wu used this move to counteract Kingdra’s Yawn. Theoretically, it’s indeed cracked, but changing from Water Attraction to Insomnia means it’s no longer immune to Water Attribute Energy!

Genji bet on this!?

He looked in surprise at the struggling Kingdra, noticing its body suddenly lit up with a white light, gradually converging into its eyes and cannon-like mouthpiece, realizing it in a flash.

[Sharpening]!

So that’s it! Kingdra has the skill that guarantees a critical hit next move!

Water Cannon is probably its most powerful move, so it preferred to endure Cradily’s Powerful Whip just to remove Cradily’s trait.

Da Wu got tricked!

Baimu’s heart tightened, as Da Wu himself below seemed to realize this too, ordering Cradily to fully use Powerful Whip.

The Cradily in critical danger channeled all its strength into wildly swinging its glowing green tentacles to thrash Kingdra’s body, but unfortunately, the Pokémon under Genji’s command has a persistently strong will, allowing Kingdra to remain standing until the end.

Water Cannon is about to erupt!

Baimu, feeling the pressure, tightened his right fist.

’Kingdra uses its mouth to discharge, block its mouth with the tentacles!’

’At this moment, forget about appearances!’

He yearned to rush into the arena and substitute for Cradily to block Kingdra’s mouth, but in the end, Cradily chose to honorably use its move to attack Kingdra, not taking the ”devious path.”

Finally.

A bright blue light flashed from Kingdra’s long tube-like mouthpiece, targeting Cradily, which couldn’t dodge because of being rooted, aiming at the dark spot in the middle of its head, unleashing a storm-like torrent!

Boom——!!

The azure water flow crashed onto Cradily like a storm against the shore, continuing to rise and burst into a grand splash, penetrating the sandstorm and illuminated by the sun, sprinkling a gentle rainbow glow onto the arena!

The audience gasped in unison.

With commentators assisting, even those who don’t understand battling knew Da Wu and Cradily are at risk now.

Kingdra’s Explosive Water Cannon is enough to penetrate the Light Wall, and its Sniper trait makes the already terrifying explosive power exponentially increase!
