Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1130: Chapter 672: Champion Alliance (Part 2)

The winner of the previous tournament needs to challenge the Four Heavenly Kings consecutively, and if they defeat all the Four Heavenly Kings, they have the opportunity to challenge the Regional Champion.

If one of the Four Heavenly Kings defeats the tournament winner, then that King gains the qualification to challenge the Champion. If multiple Kings defeat the tournament winner, those Kings need to compete for the qualification to challenge the Champion.

The latter requires the Four Heavenly Kings to participate in a three-out-of-six elimination match to compete for the qualification to challenge the Champion.

The divisional matches are part of the quarterly Champion Alliance.

Each King must defeat the Trainers who received an invitation from the Alliance, and only by successfully defending their position can they gain the qualification to challenge the Champion and participate in the Champion challenge.

The tournament winner can participate in both kinds of Champion Alliance, but the former has only one opportunity, while the latter requires an invitation.

Although the divisional matches seem like a benefit for the Four Heavenly Kings, no King has ever reversed the situation and ascended to the Champion throne.

Quite a few Trainers invited by the Kings have been defeated.

——

At the competition venue.

The audience stands were already packed.

Not sure if it’s because of Da Wu’s influence or because of the pleasant cooperation between the Hoenn Alliance and Shanren recently, Baimu was arranged in the VIP guest seats, next to Tamaranze and other Alliance executives.

”Oh ho ho ho, we meet again, young man.”

The elderly man with a white beard let out a gentle laugh and said, ”Even if you can’t compete, you still want to witness the battle between the Champion and the Four Heavenly Kings, don’t you? It really is quite irresistible.”

Tamaranze is known as ”the greatest person in the Pokémon Alliance” because of his outstanding contributions to the Alliance tournaments and the Champion Alliance. Shanren frequently communicated privately with him to gain various experiences on organizing tournaments.

He was also very aware of why Baimu was not participating in the competition.

Below.

In the commentator’s excited shout, Champion Da Wu and the Four Heavenly Kings all made their appearances, the audience’s cheers resounded throughout the stadium, causing the entire venue to gently tremble.

Their enthusiasm even exceeded that of the tournament finals.

Baimu watched expectantly as Da Wu, cloaked in the Champion’s Cloak, slowly ascended the steps toward the Holy Fire, where a huge, magnificent stone chair was placed in front of the fire.

The moment he sat down, it was as if a king was ascending the throne, countless fireworks burst forth, and thousands of streamers fluttered.

Solemn symphonies surrounded the venue.

This treatment!

Baimu clicked his tongue, he always felt that compared to the Galar Region’s intention to create the [Strongest Champion], [Undefeated King], furiously marketing Dan Emperor.

Other regions didn’t seem to showcase much of the Champion’s status.

Only after personally coming to the Champion Alliance did he realize they didn’t need daily marketing at all.

By simply sitting on the most prominent and highest Champion throne in the entire venue, the position and dignity naturally stood out, anyone looking in that direction would feel the overwhelming aura.

What is an uncrowned king?

This is it!

But even with a cushion, sitting on a stone throne for an afternoon might not be very comfortable, right?

He was a bit worried about Mr. Da Wu’s butt and back.

Not long after.

Amid the attention of all, the large screen displayed the computer’s random matchmaking results—Huayue versus Bonnie, Furong versus Genji.

The schedule is two matches this afternoon, one match tomorrow afternoon, and a three-out-of-six format.

The final champion defense battle the afternoon after tomorrow, involving all participants.

”Ice against Dark, why not Ice against Dragon, Ghost against Dark?”

Baimu had a sudden idea.

In many regions, the Four Heavenly Kings seem to have mutual restraining relations, such as Johto’s Psychic versus Poison, Fighting versus Dark, Sinnoh’s Bug versus Psychic, Ground versus Fire, Unova’s Fighting versus Dark, Ghost versus Superpower, etc.

This corresponding relationship ended in Carlos, where only Fire and Water are considered, and another Steel and Dragon only have resistance relations.

No.

Perhaps they have become mutually resistant relations.

After waiting for about twenty minutes.

The first to battle, Huayue and Bonnie, each stood on opposite sides of the field, and under the referee’s announcement, they quickly sent out their Pokémon—

Mightyena and Abomasnow.

Bonnie was skilled at using snowy weather, and when her Abomasnow appeared, it brought a flurry of white mist and small hail.

Mightyena triggered its Intimidating Trait and immediately pounced towards Abomasnow, launching a searing Flame Fang attack.

”Awooo!”

The howl was especially loud.

The exceptionally bright flame also highlighted the formidable power of this Flame Fang move.

To everyone’s surprise, Abomasnow jumped back with an agility that didn’t match its bulky body, colorful light surrounding its body like a thin light shield.

[Aurora Curtain], a move equivalent to a combination of Light Wall and Reflective Wall, can only be activated in snowy weather.

Mightyena chose to chase and suddenly burst forth with a rapid speed, allowing its Flame Fang to bite onto Abomasnow.

But unexpectedly, it had no significant effect.

When the flames exploded on Abomasnow, the big howling snowman dispersed the smoke with a wooden hammer and fiercely knocked Mightyena skyward, engulfing it in a terrifying Blizzard as it descended.

Thankfully.

Huayue had Mightyena create a Substitute as a launch platform beforehand to narrowly avoid this, thus escaping the fate of losing a Pokémon within the first three minutes.

Despite being intimidated, Abomasnow’s physical attack was so fierce, it was truly astounding.

And Bonnie’s displayed combat style was as calm as her familiar attributes, in the initial clash Huayue didn’t gain any advantage and was even slightly falling behind.

Faced with this situation, Huayue opted for a switch.

The replacement was Crawdaunt, which upon debut used Water Jet to avoid Abomasnow’s Blizzard and, with its fierce pincers, began enhancing with Dragon Dance.

Seeing this, Bonnie immediately commanded Abomasnow to launch a large-scale Blizzard attack across the field, but the Crawdaunt, having completed the Dragon Dance, countered by using Blizzard again, transforming itself into gigantic ice crystals via Water Jet.

”Such fast movements.”

Baimu was amazed at the speed of Crawdaunt, even though Water Jet starts extremely fast, this was too fast.

Within the field.

Continuing to speed towards Abomasnow, it morphed into an icy Water Jet, and even though Abomasnow dodged just in time, the shattering ice chunks still forced it to raise its hand for cover.

By this time, Crawdaunt was already upon it.

The brown-red Splitting Tiles smashed down, shattering Abomasnow’s rainbow Aurora Curtain, and the powerful, restraining strike immediately caused great pain.

Before Abomasnow could counter-attack under Bonnie’s command,

Crawdaunt flickered to its side, hitting a Dark Assault on Vital Points on the back of its head.

The heavy thumping sounds were nerve-wracking.

Huayue’s motto—”Attack is the best defense,” his performance undoubtedly showed a tendency to fully implement this, also regaining the rhythm that was previously lost.

And in a short period, a series of successive attacks forced Abomasnow to retreat step by step, despite Bonnie’s several commands, it couldn’t execute them.

Bonnie had to withdraw it.

Her second Pokémon was Walrein, whose body was even more corpulent than Abomasnow, and from one look, it seemed inflexible. How would it cope with Crawdaunt’s attack?

The answer is:

With thick fat.

Baimu had a deep impression of this Pokémon, not only because it was the first time it made Baimu understand the importance of training Dreepy’s evasion, but also because of how it utilized its body.

Bonnie’s skill in employing such techniques surpassed even Mikoli.

Unrelated to its Trait [Thick Fat], Walrein’s body was naturally capable of absorbing impact, which made Crawdaunt, emphasizing physical attack, struggle against this sturdy Pokémon that repeatedly boosted its defenses through Charging.

Huayue went from being confident to questioning life.

His initial expression clearly read ”I believe Crawdaunt can definitely break through your defense,” yet the result was ”why hasn’t it made a dent.”

Evidently, the Dark Assault on Vital Points’ critical hit effect hadn’t activated once.

In contrast, Bonnie, first used Tide Spin to prevent Huayue from switching, then froze his Pokémon entirely with Blizzard, and finally executed a Mount Tai Pressing Down-like Pounce.

The spider-web-like cracks on the ground made Baimu worry that Crawdaunt might be squashed into crab cakes.

Fortunately, it wasn’t.

It was just pressed into the ground.

After recalling Crawdaunt, as the Hail gradually ceased, Huayue promptly sent out his ace—Absol, and initiated Super Evolution.

The brilliant radiance elicited screams from the audience.

In the game, the Mega Absol, which wasn’t used unless by fans, in Huayue’s hands, exhibited a high sensitivity to crises.

Walrein’s repeated attacks were easily evaded, as if it had anticipated from which direction it would be attacked.
