Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 711: Chapter 482: Ghost Assassin (Part 2)

He could only pray that no more attackers would be attracted.

As his vision gradually recovered, he suddenly saw two Sableyes twitching and emitting smoke behind the intact triangular pillar, with only a little dust flying around.

”Shashang?”

The unexpected cry of the Hydreigon echoed in his ears.

Apparently, this guy knew that its destructive power shouldn’t be so limited as to not even damage the floor and pillar, but the fact showed that this thing was incredibly hard, and its moves couldn’t even leave a scratch.

The material is unusual, indeed.

Baimu released his hands and lightly landed on the ground, took out a Pokeball, and searched for places to hide. He felt that with his current physique, even jumping from a height of ten meters wouldn’t hurt him as long as he could roll properly to absorb the impact.

Of course, that’s just a feeling. So far, he hadn’t taken such a risk, at most just jumped off the top of a Steelix, which scared the iron gormless quite a bit.

Back then, the latter’s head was drooping, about seven or eight meters high.

He and the Hydreigon hid behind another giant pillar for a while. He was a bit surprised not to encounter a second wave of attackers for a long time.

Are the Pokémon inside the Pillar of the Sky deaf?

Definitely not.

Then there’s only one possibility.

”These guys should be the resistance we’re facing in the challenge as we progress upwards.” He came to the side of the two Sableyes and poked their rock-hard bodies.

In the game, there would also be Pokémon like Ariados, Golbat, and even Mawile inside the Pillar of the Sky.

But without a doubt, these Pokémon all need to eat, unlike the Ghost Attribute Pokémon that can resist their own consumption by sleeping.

His arrival probably woke up these slumbering Ghost-type Pokémon.

And these guys probably have the mission to obstruct challengers, appearing to attack them at the right time and causing various troubles.

Although it’s just a guess, it’s probably not far from the truth.

”Shashang...”

The Hydreigon nodded in semi-understanding; indeed, it had smelled many unfamiliar scents nearby, some strong, some weak, but none of them were likely its match.

After some thought, Baimu released a Dragapult and two Dreepys.

”Waddles...””Heehee~””Heehee!”

The Dragapult cautiously observed the surroundings, the Sister Dragapult’s gaze landed on the Sableyes, while the Brother Dragapult excitedly turned into a Facehugger and leaped onto his face.

The three Pokémon lived in three different balls and had three different personalities.

Yet in battle, they acted as a unity.

Baimu forcibly pulled the Brother Dragapult off his face, explained the situation to them, and said, ”Next, join the Hydreigon as left and right guardians, understood?”

The Dragapult and the Sister Dragapult nodded in understanding, while the Brother Dragapult continued to fool around, laughing merrily.

”...”

He suddenly felt the urge to hit this guy.

Before he could try to put his thoughts into action, the considerate Sister Dragapult took the initiative to cool his anger.

Smack!

A crisp sound of a slap.

The Brother Dragapult’s excited expression quickly turned into one of grievance, holding its head with a bullied look, as it crawled into the firing hole on top of the Dragapult with an expression of frustration under the disapproving gaze of the Sister Dragapult.

Clearly, it heard all of Baimu’s words earlier, just pretended not to hear it.

He was filled with emotion.

And when the Sister Dragapult crawled into the other firing hole of Dragapult, a complete Dragapult finally took shape, the latter showing a relieved look as it was clearly afraid of the former having any objections.

How awkward that would be.

”Shashang!”

The Hydreigon flapped its wings and moved closer, dividing the area with Dragapult for vigilance, while Baimu let them discuss their strategy.

At this moment.

The two Sableyes that had been knocked out by the Evil Fluctuation attacks woke up, or rather, they had already been awake for a while, waiting for an opportunity to escape, which they now saw as a perfect time.

”Yammy!” ”Yammy Yammy!”

With screeching sounds, the two Sableyes rolled and crawled away into the distance.

The Hydreigon eagerly wanted to chase after them, but was quickly stopped by Baimu raising his hand.

”Why are you chasing them? Our goal is to climb to the top of the tower, not to play hide and seek.” He often found it hard to understand this guy’s thought processes and many behaviors. Have its three heads sharing one brain made it dumber?

Oh well.

Humans can’t really understand a ”dog”... wait, make that two dogs.

Baimu saw the eager eyes of the Brother Dragapult, and he couldn’t help but sigh.

After several minutes.

Having toured the entire first floor, he started his climb officially.

He remembered that in the game the Pillar of the Sky had about five floors, but the one in front of him seemed to easily have more than ten, and what’s more, there were no vertical ladders like in the game, just sloped stairs connecting pieces of floorboards that looked fragile, horizontally and vertically crisscrossing and airborne with peculiar twists.

Fortunately, these things were unlikely to collapse underfoot, as they were just as sturdy as the ground and the pillars.

The downside was that there were no handrails.

If a battle were to erupt on the stairs and one missteps, it could lead to a fall from a high place, and then one could only hope for the kind of good fortune Rocket Team had in always finding a cushion, otherwise, he would only reunite with his own Pokémon in the Spirit Realm.

For the sake of safety, Baimu was particularly cautious when using the stairs.

But inevitably, it was coming back.

”Hehehee...”

A sinister laugh suddenly sounded.

A Banette abruptly appeared at the end of the staircase, but before the Hydreigon and the hidden Dragapult could launch an attack, it vanished from sight.

Ghost-type Pokémon mostly have the ability to blend into shadows, and the environment inside the Pillar of the Sky is ideal for them.

Anyone who ventures here unprepared would become a live target—

Baimu, with an indifferent face, pulled out a high-tech flashlight and aimed it at where the Banette disappeared.

Click.

In an instant.

The glaring sun descended!

The 150,000 lumens high-tech portable flashlight summoned a daylight akin to the outside world, making the sneaky Banette visible.

”Pida—”

It wailed as it threw its hands over its eyes, its once evil and eerie face crumpling into something akin to a chrysanthemum, filled with resistance and panic.

Who on earth threw a flash grenade this time?

At this moment, the Banette was just like Baimu a few minutes earlier when he was dazzled by the flash of the Sableyes, its eyes being temporarily blinded painfully although it managed to stay off the ground without rolling in pain, its endurance was commendable.

”Shashashasha——”

The Hydreigon laughed so hard that its scalp tingled, it delighted in using others’ methods right back on them.

Baimu whacked its butt, ”What are you standing around for? Go!”

Finally realizing with hindsight, the creature then opened its mouth and unleashed an Evil Fluctuation at the Banette while simultaneously, the cloaked Dragapult made its move, appearing behind another Banette that was hiding behind the staircase and attempting to grab Baimu with ghostly claws, its dark tail swaying sinisterly.

”Pida?”

The second Banette heard the wind and turned its head, just in time to be hit by the tail.

Bang!

Thud!

One sound heavy, the other light.

This combo of distraction by one and ambush by the other was swiftly dealt with, their persistence even shorter than the first two Sableyes.

Many hidden Ghost-type Pokémon couldn’t help but shiver with fear.

The failed two Sableyes squatted in the corner drawing circles with resentment. Who could have known that their trick would be ”learned” by Baimu so quickly and used against the next batch of pranking Ghost Pokémon.

No justice in the world!

Elsewhere.

Baimu left two ”corpses” behind, turned off the flashlight, and went without hesitation to the second floor of the Pillar of the Sky, where floorboards full of hollow holes presented themselves, and from the edges of the gaps, these floorboards seemed barely thicker than an Oreo.

Will they really not give way underfoot?

He was gingerly putting his foot down when suddenly he was wearing a strange pair of glasses—

Night Vision Device.

Truthfully, he didn’t like wearing this thing as it felt like it limited his field of view, but to avoid being caught off guard by a flash from those ghostly things, he grudgingly endured the awkwardness and put them on.

Come on!

Let’s see what tricks you guys have up your sleeves!?

Baimu awaited with anticipation.
