System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Oh, Xiao Lu, there’s something I need to clarify with you.” Chen Song’s voice became mellow midway through the meal, even without any alcohol.

”I arrived in Long County the day before yesterday and encountered an emergency with a liver injury. I initially wanted to preserve more, but it didn’t seem very smooth.”

Chen Song did not mention the ”suturing technique” because its application in liver preservation surgery has not yet been approved,

Chen Song is at the associate senior level, and this title passively grants him the authority to treat based on personal experience, including but not limited to incorporating some personal techniques.

But this authority is only passively available to doctors at the associate senior level and above.

”Not smooth? Teacher Chen, do you mean that the operations we performed on pig livers are meaningless?” Lu Cheng frowned, asking seriously.

A suturing technique that reaches the clinical stage typically goes through three phases.

First, a theoretical breakthrough.

Second, implementation on free liver bodies.

Third, experiments on live animals, application of suturing on live livers.

Currently, the technique has only completed the first two steps; the animal model hasn’t been established yet, so Professor Chen Song can only perform it but hasn’t experienced suturing live livers.

”I haven’t found the reason yet, and I’ve thought it over for a while. I plan to leave the problem with you,” said Chen Song.

”Thank you, Teacher Chen, for having faith in me,” Lu Cheng replied jokingly.

Since Zhang Xibei joined the project team, although he hasn’t fully developed all animal models for spleen injuries, he has worked on some, and Chen Song has also operated on rabbit livers, so he has some application experience.

But the model for liver injury has always been missing, still in progress.

This relatively new technique isn’t a classic one. Classic techniques have undergone years of clinical application, and once learned, they can be applied directly.

But new techniques might require adjustments!~

Moreover, Lu Cheng cannot simply conjure up his liver preservation surgery and clarify it directly to Chen Song.

Liver preservation surgery must be demonstrated and practiced through specific operations…

Surgical techniques need practice, not just listening.

”Anyway, there’s such a phenomenon. I hope you can understand, and if possible, I hope you can produce animal models soon so I can practice,” said Chen Song.

”Teacher Chen, the procedure hasn’t been completed,” said Lu Cheng.

Chen Song finally regained his proud nature, patting his chest, ”That’s the procedure you need to go through.”

”Actually, from this perspective, last year’s choice was correct. If you were stuck with associate senior titles, everything you want to do will be more cumbersome.”

”But if you can successfully advance to associate senior, you’ll have more freedom no matter where you go.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Tiesheng was quite curious, ”Teacher Chen, can I give it a try?”

Zhang Tiesheng had studied for quite some time, almost half a year since last year.

Although Zhang Tiesheng is relatively patient, he has been holding back, and is eager.

”You, start with spleen preservation surgery. You could probably perform it independently in about a month,” Chen Song said seriously.

”Another month?” Zhang Tiesheng’s voice faltered.

Chen Song said, ”If you want to be even safer, two months would do!~”

”When you’re out and about, you must reciprocate. Whatever you owe must be paid back.”

”It’s not just you; everyone must repay.”

”Xiao Lu is also repaying, and so am I.”

Zhang Tiesheng quickly responded, ”Teacher Chen, I didn’t mean to blame you, it’s just that my heart and hands are itching.”

Chen Song said, ”It’s good to itch. Now you know that performing surgeries is interesting, right?”

Zhang Tiesheng nodded without hesitation, ”Teacher Chen, compared to previous surgeries, it’s completely different.”

Seeing Chen Song turn his head towards Lu Cheng, Zhang Tiesheng quickly understood Chen Song’s intention, ”Brother Lu, I toast to Xiao Zhang!~”

Zhang Tiesheng downed his drink in one go.

Lu Cheng said, ”Who’s Xiao Zhang? I don’t know. Teacher Chen, do you know?”

Chen Song knew Lu Cheng was joking and cooperatively shook his head, ”I don’t know either…”

”Shall we add some dishes?”

”Sure.” Chen Song agreed immediately like a foodie.

Zhang Tiesheng knew he might have gone too far with ’social antics,’ thickened his skin, found another ordering task, and reintegrated himself.

”…”

Evening of February 17, Ji City, home.

Lu Cheng was lying back, video chatting with Mu Nanshu and looking at the chat interface with Director Du Qiang, silently reading through some things.

In terms of personal ability, Du Qiang is indeed not strong. Compared to Professor Chen Song, his ability ceiling is limited.

But personal qualities aren’t closely related to personal abilities.

After Lu Cheng left Long County People’s Hospital, Du Qiang adopted a non-interference policy.

Or rather, Du Qiang demonstrated a lesson on how not to force oneself into an unwelcoming circle; he had a very clear understanding of himself.

What things can only be touched upon, and when one can deepen interactions with some people, or only remain on the sidelines.

Compared to Chen Song, Du Qiang understood his personal limitations and placing the clinical project’s implementation base in the county hospital’s emergency department was his utmost limit.
