Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Fishing

Xiao Zhe chuckled, pointed at the two people behind him, and said:

”I’ve already thought about the question you raised, and we brought tools specifically for this today.”

Yang Xiao glanced at the two people behind Xiao Zhe. Each carried a coil of thumb-thick rope, with a large iron hook made of rebar at the end.

”Fishing?”

Yang Xiao asked.

”Haha, I know that just two hooks won’t conquer that water monster; I have a secret weapon.”

Yang Xiao knew that Xiao Zhe was interested in the water monster in the pond, naturally aiming for the monster’s Genetic Fragments and the potential drop of high attribute weapons, and possibly even a Secret Manual of Skills.

Xiao Zhe had hunted Mutated Creatures these few days, killing a few small mutant leaders of animals with primitive mutated genes, from which he obtained some Primary Level weapons, and even a Secret Manual of Cultivation Skills.

Thinking of the water monster in the pond, Xiao Zhe couldn’t suppress his inner desire. Moreover, he had already completed his gene mutation, activated the Genetic Data System, and his power greatly increased.

In addition, several people in his team had completed gene mutations, which gave him the confidence to hunt the water monster in the pond.

Yang Xiao smiled faintly:

”Then I wish you success.”

Xiao Zhe smiled, turned to the few people behind him, and said:

”Brothers, let’s work hard. First, we need to dispel the thick fog near the pond, and then hunt the monster inside.”

Xiao Zhe brought a team of fifty or sixty people this time. Each person had special abilities after gene mutation. They started to follow Xiao Zhe’s orders, dividing into two teams, slowly advancing along the pond’s edge, hunting small mutated creatures and dispelling the fog.

Yang Xiao sat on the cement road by the shore with Huang Wen and others, eating grilled mosquitoes while watching how Xiao Zhe and others hunted the water monster.

”Everyone, make sure to rest well. Without my orders, no one is allowed to run around. Today, we just observe Xiao Zhe and the others’ battle, and everyone should learn well.”

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua each led a team running halfway around the pond’s edge on the road, almost dispelling the fog on the road.

The pond was surrounded by mountains on one side, with roads encircling the other three sides. At the moment, the pond was still covered by thick fog, making it impossible to see the water’s surface.

Xiao Zhe said a few words to a girl in the team, and the girl suddenly transformed into a giant sparrow, soaring into the sky above the pond.

”Wang Aijia, good job!”

A burst of cheering erupted from the crowd.

Transformed into a sparrow, Wang Aijia was very proud, flying back and forth over the pond, continuously pushing back the fog, gradually revealing the pond’s original appearance.

Xiao Zhe walked up to Yang Xiao and said proudly:

”Yang Xiao, did you see that? Our team is full of talents now; we have people of all kinds. Ah, this apocalypse is truly something one loves and hates!”

Yang Xiao had to admit that as everyone completed their gene mutations, more excellent talents emerged in Xiao Zhe’s team, and their power grew stronger.

Wang Aijia flew over the water, enjoying the admiring gazes of everyone, feeling a sense of pride, as if a sparrow had become a Phoenix. To show off her flying skill, she suddenly dived, skimmed the water surface at low altitude, stirring up a splash.

”Yeah! Great!”

Another burst of screams and applause erupted from the crowd.

Yang Xiao frowned and said:

”She’s courting death!”

Xu Hua, on the other hand, said:

”She’s flying in the air; what can the fish in the water do to her? Yang Xiao, you underestimate her.”

Yang Xiao didn’t say anything further, just stared at Wang Aijia flying back and forth above the pond, continually diving low across the water, showing off her flying stunts.

Seeing everyone cheering for her, Wang Aijia felt even prouder. Noticing that the fog over the lake had almost entirely dissipated, she deliberately ascended higher and then suddenly dived towards the water, reaching for the surface with her claws.

Just as Wang Aijia was about to lift her claws, creating a beautiful splash, suddenly, a huge whirlpool appeared on the surface. She felt her body sink.

A huge fish poked its head out of the water, opened its massive mouth, and bit Wang Aijia’s feet.

”Ah!”

Wang Aijia was suddenly panic-stricken, screaming, and flapping her wings desperately, trying to fly up.

However, the fish was too gigantic, holding Wang Aijia’s feet in a deadly grip, then fiercely sinking underwater.

The giant sparrow, into which Wang Aijia had transformed, was dragged into the water.

”Xiao Zhe, save me, save me...”

Xiao Zhe was stunned at this moment, staring blankly at the lake’s surface. A chilling sense of fear rose from his heart. He could only watch dumbfounded as Wang Aijia struggled a few times on the surface before being dragged underwater by the water monster.

The water’s surface left a ripple, with bright red blood seeping from below, dyeing a dozen square meters of the pond’s center bright red.

Both Xiao Zhe’s and Yang Xiao’s teams, over a hundred people in total, watched, not daring to breathe.

Finally, everyone came to their senses, with the boys sighing and the girls shedding tears.

Xiao Zhe gritted his teeth and shouted:

”Sisters and brothers, avenge Wang Aijia, throw the hooks!”

As he spoke, Xiao Zhe personally picked up a large special fishing hook made from thumb-thick nylon rope, hung a Mutated Frog on the hook, and tossed it into the pond with force.

Xu Hua also picked up another hook and threw it into the pond.

After the two threw the hooks into the pond, they slowly dragged the ropes. Moments later, Xiao Zhe felt a weight on his wrist and was instantly delighted,

”We’ve got it!”

Xiao Zhe pulled the rope back forcefully, feeling the hook in the water snagging onto something, the weight growing heavier. Moments later, a huge splash appeared on the water’s surface.

Splash...

A three-meter-long big fish was snagged, desperately slapping the water with its tail.

Two other boys ran over to help Xiao Zhe grab the rope and quickly pull it towards the shore.

The fish’s head slowly emerged from the water. Although it wasn’t as big as the fish that ate Wang Aijia earlier, a three-meter-long fish was still considered a giant fish.

As the giant fish was slowly dragged to the pond’s edge, Yang Xiao recognized it as a Tilapia.

The Tilapia was an invasive species with an extremely strong survival ability, and its back was covered with spines.

Judging from the current situation in the water, this mutated Tilapia was not only massive but its back spines stood up like swords.

After pulling the giant fish to the shore, Xiao Zhe and the others didn’t immediately know how to bring it ashore. The hands holding the rope stopped pulling, giving the Tilapia a chance to catch its breath.

As the rope loosened, the large iron hook in the Tilapia’s mouth wasn’t pulled taut, reducing the pain, so it closed its mouth tightly, using its sharp, jagged teeth to bite through the nylon rope.

With a light snap, the thumb-thick nylon rope was bitten through.

Xiao Zhe and the others suddenly felt a lightness in their hands, and the huge Tilapia turned around and swam towards the center of the pond.

”Damn! This old man is furious!”

Xiao Zhe and the others yelled.
