Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Killing to Establish Authority

Hao Lei and a few boys are tall and imposing; Huang Wen and the other girls are no match for them, even holding iron pipes and glaring angrily, their hands tremble, too scared to actually charge up and fight Hao Lei.

The girls saw the water they risked their lives to fetch from the pond being kicked over by Hao Lei, each of them feeling a deep pain in their hearts.

”I’m going all out with you!”

Furious, Huang Wen swung an iron shovel at Hao Lei, but he grabbed the shovel with one hand and with a kick, he knocked her to the ground.

The other girls wanted to charge forward, but the boys brought by Hao Lei glared and stepped forward, forcing everyone to stand trembling in place.

”Ha ha, a few stinky women wanting to fight me? Brothers, take all these taros and the water; we’ll have more food now. Want to eat roasted taros? Come on, one roasted taro for a night with me, ha ha...”

Two boys started to go pick up the bags filled with taros on the ground.

Suddenly, a figure burst through the crowd, and with a flash of cold light, he slashed the necks of the two boys, who immediately spurted blood and fell to the ground.

Before Hao Lei could react, he took a kick to the groin, causing him to sweat coldly and grimace in pain, immediately crouching down.

”F*ck your mom, who, who dares to hit me?”

These days, Hao Lei, relying on Xiao Zhe’s team, had massive amounts of food and manpower, and was unbearably arrogant.

A cold knife was immediately placed on his neck, even cutting through his skin slightly, with some blood trickling out.

Everything changed too suddenly, everyone was dumbfounded with no time to react.

By the time everyone saw clearly, the situation had already turned around.

Seeing Yang Xiao return, Huang Wen and the other girls were instantly thrilled, tears streaming down their faces.

Yang Xiao held a foot-long watermelon knife in each hand, pressing one against Hao Lei, coldly saying:

”These girls are under my protection, I’m their leader. You dare to mess with my people and steal our food, you’re asking for death.”

”Who, who are you?”

Hao Lei twisted his head to look at Yang Xiao, feeling unfamiliar, not recognizing him.

Slap!

Yang Xiao struck Hao Lei’s face with the watermelon knife, saying:

”You don’t need to care who I am, now you must pay the price for what you just did.”

”You, brother, it’s a misunderstanding, let’s talk. Xiao Zhe is my boss, I’m in his team.”

”Whoever is your boss doesn’t matter, didn’t you just insult my girls? Kneel down and apologize to them, kowtow, otherwise, I’ll slaughter you.”

Yang Xiao knew that in these chaotic, apocalyptic times, everyone was fighting for food to the death; only the ruthless could survive.

Even if Yang Xiao had no intention of robbing others of their food, he couldn’t stop others from having such thoughts.

Huang Wen and the girls were already weak, and suddenly having so much taro and water had attracted envy from many around, they couldn’t fend off others.

Hao Lei was the first to attack and steal; if not stopped immediately, it would bring endless trouble, so he directly killed the two men who were stealing taro and subdued Hao Lei.

The boys that came with Hao Lei were frightened by the situation; they usually just intimidated others, and were somewhat afraid to really kill.

Two stayed behind while the others ran back to camp for reinforcements, looking for their boss Xiao Zhe to help.

Around one or two hundred people were spectators, all shocked by Yang Xiao’s Killing Aura.

Making Hao Lei kneel and beg for mercy in front of so many people, how could he swallow his pride?

”Brother, brother, let’s talk nicely, I can compensate you with some food, I have instant noodles, chocolate, and chicken legs at my place; let me go, and I can let you join our team, which now possesses the most food.”

For most people, joining Xiao Zhe’s team was a dream.

Hao Lei was now hoping to stall for time, to appease Yang Xiao, hoping that once Yang Xiao let him go, he vowed to behead Yang Xiao to avenge himself.

Yang Xiao sneered, knife in hand, and cut a gash across his back, immediately bleeding profusely.

Hao Lei wailed out loud, his liver and gallbladder split with fear.

”Cut the crap, I told you to kneel and apologize, otherwise I’ll chop you down.”

Hao Lei no longer dared harbor any hopes; having seen Yang Xiao kill the other two companions just now, he feared Yang Xiao would slash him in anger. Hastily, he knelt with a thud, turning to Huang Wen and the others saying:

”Dear junior sisters, I, Hao Lei, am not a human but a beast. I apologize to you and seek your forgiveness. Please be magnanimous and spare me as I kowtow to you!”

Thud, thud, thud!

Hao Lei knocked his head on the ground three times.

At this moment, Xiao Zhe rushed over with a dozen boys, and the spectators made way for them.

”Who TF dares to mess with my people?”

The next second, he was somewhat stunned. How could it be Yang Xiao?

”You?”

Yang Xiao chuckled and said:

”Xiao Zhe, now that you’ve become the boss, quite impressive, robbing food everywhere, bullying girls.”

”Hehe, Yang Xiao, where have you been hiding these past days? Oh, why did you start a fight with my men? Let him go quickly, apologize, and I won’t hold you accountable.”

Originally, it was under Yang Xiao’s guidance that Xiao Zhe realized the importance of hoarding food, taking a step ahead and later forming a team. He was somewhat grateful to Yang Xiao.

Besides, he knew that Yang Xiao had once hoarded a large box of chicken legs, beef jerky, and other food, and he wanted to get some of that food from Yang Xiao.

Xiao Zhe’s arrival also bolstered Hao Lei’s boldness. Kneeling on the ground, he looked up at Yang Xiao.

”Kid, your end has come. I will not let you go.”

Slap!

Yang Xiao stomped on Hao Lei’s back, pressing him down to the ground.

Now, Yang Xiao’s strength was so immense that he didn’t even know his own limit.

Hao Lei, being 180 cm tall and muscular, couldn’t resist at all after being stomped down by Yang Xiao.

”Hehe, you think Xiao Zhe can save you?”

”You dare to kill me, Xiao Zhe won’t let you off.”

Hao Lei said defiantly, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Xiao Zhe’s expression changed as he looked at Yang Xiao.

”Yang Xiao, let him go.”

At this moment, Huang Wen and the others started to worry about Yang Xiao. Xiao Zhe had brought more than a dozen boys wielding iron pipes, looking extremely fierce. How could Yang Xiao alone compete against them?

Huang Wen gestured to the girls beside her. Despite trembling inside, they bravely stood behind Yang Xiao with weapons in hand.

Yang Xiao glanced at Huang Wen and the others, nodded, and said:

”Don’t be afraid, with the boss covering you, what’s there to panic about!”

Huang Wen and the others choked up:

”Boss, we will live and die with you!”

”Alright, with those words, I’m proud to be the boss of you group of ’dinosaurs’.”

Huang Wen and the others: ”@#￥%...”

There was a burst of light laughter from the crowd.

Yang Xiao looked at Xiao Zhe and said blandly:

”The words you just said, are they commanding me to let him go, or are they pleading?”

Xiao Zhe’s face darkened as he said:

”Yang Xiao, even if you kill Hao Lei, look at the people around me, can you really fight so many of us alone?”

”Hehe, that’s not necessarily true. How would you know without trying?”

After saying this, he lifted his right foot and then stomped down hard, a crackling sound of breaking bones echoed as Hao Lei lay bleeding from his mouth, motionless on the ground.
