Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Battle with the Ants (Part 2)

These ants were gnawing on several corpses, with at least a couple hundred ants the size of fists, densely packed together.

Yang Xiao saw, among the ant crowd, a robust ant whose body was more than three times larger than the ordinary mutated ants, its two antennae were bright red, particularly eye-catching.

The arrival of Yang Xiao and his team immediately drew the ants’ attention, all the ants abruptly stopped gnawing, turned, and looked up at Yang Xiao and the four others.

When brave warriors meet on a narrow path, the braver one wins!

”Attack!”

With a loud shout from Yang Xiao, he swept his black long sword across the swarm of ants, and with a series of crackling sounds, dozens of ants were cut in half by his black long sword.

Chen Fei’s Lightning and Chen Lu’s Ice Ball also continuously flew out, and batches of ants struck by the lightning and ice ball became numb and stunned.

Feifei swung her long hair, picking up dozens of frozen ants and smashing them hard on the ground, breaking their limbs over several smashing actions, knocking them out.

Dai Yun didn’t dare to move, standing beside the three girls, ready to repel any ants that lunged at them.

Yang Xiao continued wielding his black long sword frantically slashing and sweeping through the ants, killing dozens of them instantly.

With Yang Xiao’s current strength, reaction speed, and sharpness, killing dozens of ants alone was not an issue.

However, although the five of them had the upper hand, the sheer number of ants meant a quick counterattack was launched.

More than two hundred ants immediately spread out, closing in from different directions, and the ant king with bright red antennae, in a flash leaped directly at Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao hurriedly put his sword horizontally to block, and heard a loud ”clang” as a massive shock force was transmitted from the black sword into his arm.

Damn, this ant king is so strong!

The ant king, blocked once by Yang Xiao’s sword, immediately jumped into the ground and vanished into the thick fog in an instant.

Once the ants spread out, the five of them started to feel strained.

Chen Fei and Chen Lu’s Lightning Ice Ball couldn’t attack on a large scale, only able to kill scattered ants. After killing the ones on the left, the ones on the right would attack again.

Dai Yun’s mutated Wolf Claw was sharp but powerless, and could only kill one or two ants at a time.

Yang Xiao was also powerless to confront the dispersed group of ants.

The four’s thick jeans were bitten through in several places; Yang Xiao’s thigh was bitten, instantly swelling up severely.

In this critical moment, Feifei’s long hair was still effective. Her four-meter-long Magic Hair swung wildly, not looking to kill the ants, but could fling them dozens of meters away.

The five persisted for five minutes, with Yang Xiao, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, and Dai Yun each bitten once.

”Boss, we can’t hold on, what should we do?”

”Retreat, Chen Lu and Chen Fei retreat first, Feifei and I will cover, retreat immediately.”

”Okay!”

Chen Fei and Chen Lu retreated along the path they came, with Dai Yun closely following to protect them, while Yang Xiao and Feifei resisted the swarm of ants furiously attacking and retreated fighting.

But these ants were fearless. As some died, more surged forward, bravely relentless.

The five had originally advanced about thirty meters into the thick fog, and quickly retreated to the edge of the fog.

Over a thousand people on the sports field saw Yang Xiao and others retreating in disarray, not knowing what had happened, each of them extremely anxious.

Soon, everyone saw a group of fist-sized dark figures pursuing Yang Xiao and the others on the ground.

Seeing this, Huang Wen and other girls quickly grabbed steel pipes, rushed out of the crowd, to rescue their boss.

Yang Xiao shouted loudly:

”Don’t come out, don’t come out, back off!”

Huang Wen, however, was unwilling to listen and led a dozen girls to charge out.

However, before Huang Wen could get 50 meters away from the Genetic Store, Yang Xiao and the others had already rushed in.

The ants seemed to be fearful of the orange light emitted from the lamp on the roof of the Genetic Store and immediately stopped their pursuit, clustering at the edge and making squeaking sounds hesitantly.

Seeing this, Yang Xiao was delighted and turned to Chen Fei and the others, saying,

”Good opportunity, charge and fight for a bit, if we can’t beat them, run back immediately!”

After saying this, he dashed into the swarm of ants, his Black Long Sword swinging and chopping, instantly killing more than a dozen ants.

Chen Fei, Chen Lu, Dai Yun, and Feifei immediately joined the battle, and even Huang Wen and the other girls kept hitting the mutated ants with steel pipes.

Huang Wen and the others saw Yang Xiao kill more than a dozen ants with one sword strike and thought it was easy, but when they tried themselves, they found that hitting the ants with steel pipes was like hitting iron lumps, not only failing to kill the ants but also numbing their arms from the vibrations.

The other spectators, seeing these mutated creatures, felt fear inside and did not dare to move forward to attack, only watching from a distance.

Xiao Zhe, Xu Hua, and others were watching the battle between Yang Xiao and the mutated ants.

”Xiao Zhe, should we join the battle?”

”Hold off for now, let’s see how they do first. Fighting isn’t hard, this fog is hiding a lot of mutated creatures, let’s clear up the situation first, so we don’t foolishly head to our deaths.”

In this way, under the watch of over a thousand people, Yang Xiao led about thirty girls and a swarm of mutated ants in a duel.

Yang Xiao, Chen Lu, Chen Fei, Dai Yun, and Feifei kept charging into the swarm of ants and fought fiercely, and when they felt danger, they hurriedly ran back into the fifty-meter safety zone of the Genetic Store.

Huang Wen and the others could only stand at the edge of the fifty-meter zone, holding steel pipes and looking for opportunities to attack the mutated ants.

After several attacks, dozens of mutated ants lay dead on the ground, and the remaining hundred or so ants, unable to attack those who had retreated back into the Genetic Store, grew increasingly angry.

Finally, when Yang Xiao and the others again took refuge inside the fifty-meter protective circle of the Genetic Store, the group of ants, infuriated, charged without hesitation.

”Damn it! Quickly retreat!”

Yang Xiao shouted loudly and immediately retreated, with Huang Wen and the others also quickly pulling back, while the spectators, seeing the mutated creatures charge into the fifty meters of the Genetic Store, were instantly filled with fear and retreated like a tide.

Sizzle...

A soft sound resounded, and dozens of mutants ants that first rushed into the orange light suddenly emitted a wisp of blue smoke and instantly turned into ashes, leaving behind three crystalline discs, Genetic Fragments.

The remaining ants, seeing this, immediately turned and ran.

Seeing this, the crowd believed what Gu Bo had said about the Genetic Store being under special protection, these mutated creatures couldn’t enter at all, and once they entered the orange light, they would be immediately killed.

Everyone felt relieved and once again gathered to watch.

Delighted, Yang Xiao took the lead and charged out again, his Black Long Sword sweeping through, killing dozens more ants.

However, this time, the ants were not inclined to fight back and quickly ran towards the dense fog, disappearing in an instant.

Yang Xiao did not pursue them, looking at the Genetic Fragments and bodies of the ants on the ground, he said to Huang Wen and the others:

”Immediately clean up the battlefield, pick up all the bodies of the ants and Genetic Fragments.”

Feifei and the others swarmed over, picking up everything in a moment.

”Good, let’s go back to the camp and rest.”
