Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 20: Chapter 20 Magic Hair

”Ah!”

A sharp scream startled everyone inside Huang Wen’s tent.

Yang Xiao was next door; upon hearing the scream, he grabbed the Black Long Sword, kicked down the separating wooden board, and charged over.

Then, he saw Huang Wen and the others gathered around a chubby, tall girl, clueless about what had happened.

”What’s going on?”

Yang Xiao asked anxiously, his gaze swiftly scanning the area without noticing anything unusual.

Huang Wen spoke up,

”Look, how did Feifei’s hair grow so long overnight?”

The plump girl was affectionately called Feifei.

Feifei stood up; at 1.68 meters tall, her black hair dropped all the way to the ground, at least two meters long.

Yang Xiao gasped at the sight and then had a thought, saying:

”Did you drink eel soup last night and feel a tingling, electric sensation in your body?”

”Um, how did you know?”

Feifei nodded, looking at Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao let out a sigh of relief and comforted her:

”Don’t worry, this is good news; you might have mutated.”

”Mutated?”

All the girls looked at Yang Xiao.

”Yes, according to Gu Bo from the Genetic Store, Earth has entered the apocalypse, and all creatures will experience mutation, including us humans. I’m not hiding anything from you; I mutated a while ago, which is why I’ve become so strong.”

After saying this, Yang Xiao, under the astonished gazes of everyone, casually picked up a piece of broken brick from the ground and gently squeezed it into powder with his hand.

Feifei was startled and said:

”But, what use is having long hair? I don’t have the time to manage such long hair every day; it’s even a nuisance to walk with.”

”Heh, you’ve just begun to mutate; you need to keenly feel the changes in your body. Try this: use your consciousness to control your hair to shorten it, restoring it to your usual look...”

Yang Xiao, according to his own understanding, shared some insights with Feifei. After listening thoughtfully and trying a few times, suddenly, with a whoosh, her more than two-meter-long hair shortened and returned to its previous shoulder-length style.

This caused an exclamation of surprise among the surrounding girls.

”Good, Feifei, do you see the steel pipe on the ground in front of you?”

Yang Xiao pointed to a steel pipe two meters away on the ground, which was one of the girls’ weapons laid down before sleep.

”Um, I see it.”

”Good, now use your consciousness to control your hair to coil around the steel pipe on the ground and pull it to you.”

”Alright, I’ll try.”

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Feifei began to earnestly attempt, and after a dozen tries, the black hair, as if with a life of its own, gracefully extended, coiled around the steel pipe on the ground, and delivered it to her hands.

This time, Feifei was delighted.

Yang Xiao touched Feifei’s mutated hair and found it extremely tough, much like wire, cool to the touch.

He asked someone to bring his watermelon knife, first gently cutting the hair with no reaction, then using force to try to cut it, yet it still couldn’t be severed.

”Congratulations, your hair has become as hard as iron after the mutation, and, if my guess is correct, it will continue to grow until you complete your mutation.”

”Hard as iron? It will keep growing?”

Everyone turned to look at Yang Xiao.

Feifei was stunned for a moment and then said:

”Besides picking things up, what else can this hair do?”

”Heh, it has many uses, but you’ll need to practice and experience more, like using your hair to suddenly coil up a person and fling them, directly tossing your opponent into the sky.”

”Wow, no way it’s that powerful?”

Feifei’s eyes sparkled.

Because of her plump figure, she has always been subjected to boys’ discrimination. Although the girls don’t discriminate against her, they somewhat treat her as a little kid to play with, and her academic performance is mediocre, so beneath Feifei’s cheerful appearance, she hides a self-conscious heart.

If she has mutated now and possesses super energy, she would surely become more confident and also gain the respect of others.

”You first use your hair to wrap around Huang Wen, then concentrate your will and give it a strong flick.”

Huang Wen startled, glared at Yang Xiao,

”Why do you use me as a test subject? You come here, you’re our leader, and the only boy.”

Chen Lu, Chen Fei, and others also egged on.

Yang Xiao had no choice but to stand about 2 meters away from Feifei.

”Feifei, go ahead.”

Feifei was unceremonious, her consciousness moved, Magic Hair floated out, and directly wrapped around Yang Xiao’s waist, then she exerted force and flung him to the side.

At that instant, Yang Xiao felt he was about to face tragedy and screamed:

”Gentle!”

However, it was already too late. It was Feifei’s first time exerting force, and she didn’t know her own strength.

Under everyone’s astonished gazes, Yang Xiao was thrown out of the tent by Feifei, falling to the ground with a crash.

Huang Wen and the others let out an exclamation and rushed over to Yang Xiao on the ground.

”Boss, how are you?”

”Don’t, don’t touch me, let me catch my breath by myself, ow, my butt, my back...”

Yang Xiao groaned.

With Yang Xiao’s current reaction speed and strength, he could have avoided Feifei’s attack or grabbed her hair with one hand, pulling Feifei over to subdue her.

But, to train Feifei’s Magic Hair, he completely neglected the need to counter-attack. Besides, who would have thought that Feifei’s Magic Hair was so powerful? Initially, it was thought to be quite something if she could just pull him along, no one expected he would be flung away all of a sudden.

Huang Wen looked on with concern, nervously asking:

”Boss, are you okay? Don’t scare us, we are still counting on you, you know.”

Yang Xiao waved his hand,

”Don’t worry, I won’t die.”

Feifei suddenly discovered she had such a powerful mutant ability that she could even fling the boss. She was extremely excited, ran over, and looked at Yang Xiao lying on the ground, and heartlessly laughed:

”Boss, let’s do it again. Practicing a few more times, I feel I could exert even greater strength.”

When Yang Xiao heard this, he simply closed his eyes and collapsed to the ground, playing dead.

”Damn it, who dare mess with this fatty in the future!”

This had Huang Wen and the other girls laughing uproariously.

After Yang Xiao’s body mutated, he became strong and tough. Although Feifei threw him down, he wasn’t seriously harmed, and after a short while, he got up, told Feifei a few things, and let her go to an open field to practice controlling her hair on her own.

Excited like a child, Feifei, accompanied by two girls, went to practice.

”Thank heavens, we finally have our own Feifei!”

Huang Wen was somewhat excited; this meant that they, the girls, would also be capable of fighting against mutated creatures in the future, and wouldn’t be bullied by boys anymore.

Yang Xiao thought for a moment, then said,

”You all ask carefully, see if anyone else feels that their body has undergone a mutation? Last night, after drinking the eel soup, did anyone feel a tingling current inside?”

Huang Wen was taken aback and said:

”Me, I felt a tingling sensation before I went to sleep last night, like something was crawling around inside.”

”Me too.”

Chen Fei and Chen Lu said at the same time.
