Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 15: Chapter 15 Eel Soup

”You?”

Xiao Zhe was trembling with anger, unable to speak when looking at Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao, however, took a quick step forward, charging right up to Xiao Zhe. Just as Xiao Zhe was about to raise the iron pipe in his hand, he felt a cold sensation on his neck and saw Yang Xiao’s watermelon knife already poised there, frightening him until his face turned pale and he trembled:

”Yang Xiao, stay cool, stay cool, please don’t start a fight, we can talk this over.”

”Xiao Zhe, take your people and scram back to your camp, and don’t show up around our camp, or else, I’ll kill every one of you I see, without any mercy.”

”Yes, I’ll take my people back right away, what are you all waiting for, move back to the camp immediately.”

Xiao Zhe shouted at the dozen or so boys he had brought with him.

These boys were also in a daze, but upon hearing Xiao Zhe’s roar, they immediately headed towards their camp.

”Hold on, drag your companion’s corpses away.”

Upon hearing this, the boys could only return reluctantly, picked up the three bodies lying on the ground, and walked to the outskirts of the playground, tossing them outside.

Disaster had already caused more than ninety percent of people to die, so a few more corpses didn’t make much difference.

However, to maintain cleanliness near the playground, everyone still threw their bodies into a pit a hundred meters away from the playground.

Now was a time of apocalypse, where many things were not so particular. The living were only hanging on to their lives precariously, and naturally, the dead could not enjoy a proper funeral.

Yang Xiao withdrew the watermelon knife, waved his hand at Xiao Zhe, and said:

”Xiao Zhe, if I dare to let you go, it means I have the ability to kill you again, so you better not play any tricks on me, otherwise, you’ll be the first one I kill.”

”I wouldn’t dare, Yang Xiao, rest assured, I will absolutely not let them bother you again.”

”Go on!”

Yang Xiao waved his hand, and Xiao Zhe ran back to his camp dejectedly.

Yang Xiao then said loudly to the onlookers around:

”I know what you’re all thinking, looking at Huang Wen and these girls as weak, thinking to grab their food and water. If you’re not afraid of death, just come and try, and we’ll see if your necks are tougher or if my knife is sharper!”

Yang Xiao’s furious shout made the surrounding people immediately bow their heads and walk away.

These were all members of small teams. Seeing Yang Xiao kill three people and even a big shot like Xiao Zhe not daring to confront him, how could they muster the courage?

The onlookers dispersed in an instant.

Huang Wen and the others looked at Yang Xiao, and suddenly they saw him as the most handsome man in the world, rushing over to him and hugging him tightly.

Therefore, Yang Xiao was surrounded by a group of dinosaurs, of course, dinosaurs with very firm and large chests, especially a few girls, which made Yang Xiao feel uncomfortable.

This unexpected event had given the group of girls an unprecedented sense of security and satisfaction. As long as Yang Xiao was there, they probably wouldn’t be harassed by anyone for the time being.

Yang Xiao thought for a moment and said:

”Let’s move our camp closer to the Genetic Store, about 20 meters away should be good. There’s plenty of open space there.”

Huang Wen and the others agreed without hesitation, saying:

”Okay!”

And they immediately began to prepare to move.

”Aren’t you going to ask me why?”

Yang Xiao looked puzzled.

”What’s there to ask? You’re the boss, what you say goes.”

Chen Lu said.

The girls giggled in response.

Yang Xiao shook his head helplessly. Once girls start admiring someone, they can become so blindly devoted. Admiring me like this, the pressure is quite something.

Half an hour later, everyone had resettled their camp on an open area about 20 meters away from the Genetic Store.

Everyone started piling up stoves again, making fire, boiling water, roasting sweet potatoes.

Yang Xiao also got busy. Someone had found a large pot among the ruins of the college cafeteria, and Yang Xiao cleaned it hastily, set it up on the simple stove and started boiling water.

He chopped the gene-mutated eel from the iron bucket into small pieces, rinsed it briefly with water, and put it into the pot to stew.

The girls gathered around Yang Xiao, watching him stewing eel, and couldn’t help but salivate. They hadn’t had a full meal for three days, let alone meat.

Yang Xiao suddenly remembered something and let out a long sigh:

”What a pity, there’s no salt, alas!”

”Heehee, who says there’s no salt?”

Huang Wen handed a packet of salt to Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao’s eyes nearly popped out.

”Amazing, you girls have this stuff?”

”Hehe, that’s the advantage of us girls. When we went to the cafeteria to look for food, although we didn’t find much, we did pick up some pots, pans, and ladles. These were things others had discarded. Moreover, it’s not just salt; we also found some soy sauce and chili powder. It’s just a shame that we didn’t find any oil.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao immediately gave a thumbs up.

”Awesome, our ladies!”

Half an hour later, a big pot of eel soup was ready. Yang Xiao sprinkled some salt, added soy sauce, and even chili flakes, giving off an irresistible aroma.

Even the old man Gu Bo ran out from the Genetic Store.

”My, my, whose cooking smells so delightful!”

Yang Xiao chuckled and said:

”Old man, come over for a bowl?”

Gu Bo wasn’t shy and really came over.

Huang Wen and the others always held the Genetic Store’s Gu Bo and the two Iron Tower Warriors from outside in awe. Seeing Gu Bo walking over, they immediately made room for him.

Gu Bo promptly sat next to Yang Xiao.

Chen Fei immediately handed over a dozen iron bowls to Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao ladled a full bowl of the mutated eel soup and handed it to Gu Bo.

Gu Bo took it and repeatedly exclaimed:

”Mmm, fragrant, so fragrant!”

He slurped a mouthful,

”Truly delicious!”

With only about a dozen bowls, they shared three people to a bowl. Each person sipped the eel soup, and every girl’s face was brimming with a satisfied and happy smile.

Chen Lu and the others used iron rods to dig out the roasted taro from the fire pit and tossed them in front of everyone.

”Time for roasted taro.”

Yang Xiao picked up a piece of roasted taro and handed it to Gu Bo,

”Want one?”

Gu Bo shook his head and said:

”I’m not interested in this, how about another bowl of eel soup?”

Gu Bo was aware of the scarcity of food for Yang Xiao and the others and felt a bit embarrassed as he made the request.

Yang Xiao didn’t mind and promptly filled another full bowl of eel soup for Gu Bo.

Gu Bo gulped it down quickly, glanced at the pot seeing not much was left, and felt too ashamed to ask for more. After saying thanks, he turned and left.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, he took a Black Long Sword from the Genetic Store and handed it to Yang Xiao, saying:

”Having enjoyed your two bowls of soup, consider this as repayment.”

How could Yang Xiao be courteous? He couldn’t have asked for more.

He took the sword, feeling its heft. It was dark all over and didn’t seem particularly sharp, so he asked:

”Old man, what’s so special about this sword?”

Gu Bo looked somewhat embarrassed and said:

”To tell the truth, this sword is the worst one in my store,”
