Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 34: Chapter 34 Fire Attack

”Fire Attack?”

Everyone looked at Yang Xiao.

”These are mutated hornets, as big as sparrows, with astonishing attack power. Moreover, they fly around everywhere, how do we execute a fire attack?”

”Yeah, previously in the countryside when burning hornet nests, people would wait for the hornets to return to the nest at night and then set a big fire to destroy the nest completely. Now these mutated hornets don’t have a nest, they are flying all around the playground, how can we burn them?”

...

Everyone expressed their doubts.

Yang Xiao smiled:

”I certainly have my plans. If you trust me, follow and work with me. If it works, you all will get Genetic Fragments as reward. If you don’t want to do it, then pretend I didn’t say anything and everyone can go back to sleep. We’ll continue to be trapped here by the hornets until everyone starves to death.”

These people now knew what Genetic Fragments were all about. Xiao Zhe had killed some mutated ants yesterday obtaining some Genetic Fragments, and they took them to the Genetic Store to synthesize some Genetic Potions. Some, like Yang Xiao, even bought simple Weapons.

Everyone now truly wanted the Genetic Fragments. With over a hundred of these hornets, if they could indeed be burnt to death like Yang Xiao said, wouldn’t there be quite a few fragments?

As for being trapped and dying here by the hornets, it was an outcome no one wished for.

Xiao Zhe clenched his teeth and said seriously:

”Yang Xiao, as long as you have a way to get rid of these annoying hornets, we will all follow your arrangement.”

With Xiao Zhe’s nod, the others naturally stopped questioning.

Yang Xiao nodded and said:

”Alright, I’ll now assign the tasks. Due to the apocalyptic catastrophe, there are many cars parked all over the school roads, most of them untouched. Of course, we don’t have the keys to start them. My target is the gasoline in the car tanks.”

”Gasoline? You want to use gasoline to burn the hornets?”

Xu Hua’s eyes lit up, wondering why he hadn’t thought of that, then he paused and said:

”Although gasoline is a good weapon to burn hornets, how do you burn them when they are constantly flying around?”

”You don’t have to worry about that part. What you need to do is find gasoline. I know you are all quite strong now, if possible, directly detach the car tanks and bring them here.”

”Yang Xiao, that’s not a problem, how much do we need?”

”About ten tanks of gasoline should suffice. We’re all familiar with the school’s layout, and there’s no need to go far. There are dozens of cars parked near the playground on this road. It’s night now, the hornets are probably resting. Everyone be careful, try to avoid areas with hornets and dismantle the gasoline tanks. For safety, I suggest groups of five.”

”Okay, that’s no problem, a small matter. Are you coming with us?”

Xu Hua looked at Yang Xiao.

”Of course, I’ll go with them.”

Yang Xiao gestured towards Chen Fei and others.

So Yang Xiao, Xiao Zhe, and others quietly moved to the other side of the playground and sneaked out in the cover of night.

Dozens of cars were parked near the playground, all ownerless after the great disaster.

Yang Xiao approached one car, had Chen Fei and four others to keep guard for mutated creatures, flipped the car over himself, reached the fixation bars around the fuel tank, and with a show of strength, snapped them off.

Within ten minutes, Yang Xiao had dismantled two fuel tanks, and shaking them by hand, estimated at least half a tank of gasoline in each.

On the other side, Xiao Zhe led twenty boys who also successfully removed at least two tanks each.

Everything went smoothly.

Everyone took advantage of the night, carrying the fuel tank quietly back to the camp.

”Yang Xiao, the fuel tank is back, but how do we burn the wasps?”

”Okay, let me briefly explain my plan. If there’s anything wrong, you guys can add to it. Tomorrow at dawn, we’ll pour gasoline here,”

Yang Xiao said while drawing a simple diagram on the ground with his hand.

”We’ll douse a large circle with a diameter of about 30 meters with gasoline, and try to cover the ground inside the circle as well. Then, send someone to attract the wasps to fly over. Once the wasps fly into the gasoline circle, immediately ignite it. The flames from the gasoline will burst out in an instant,

To increase the explosive effect, open 3 fuel drums and place them directly within the circle. Once ignited, these fuel tanks will explode, affecting a much wider area, at least a few hundred square meters. Even if the wasps fly quickly, most of them will be eliminated...”

Yang Xiao’s thoughts were very clear, and everyone understood well, feeling that the plan was feasible. Thinking about annihilating the wasps all at once tomorrow and obtaining quite a few Genetic Fragments, everyone was somewhat excited.

Xiao Zhe patted Yang Xiao on the shoulder,

”Yang Xiao, nice, that’s a good plan!”

”But, who will lure the wasps?”

Huang Wen asked timidly from the side.

Upon hearing this, everyone instantly fell silent.

Indeed, who will lure the wasps? Not only do they need to be fast, but they also must withstand the wasps’ attacks and be cautious of the blast from the gasoline, who can take on this heavy responsibility?

Yang Xiao smiled, looking at Xu Hua.

Xu Hua’s heart skipped a beat,

”No way, you don’t expect me to lure the wasps, do you?”

Yang Xiao didn’t say anything but just smiled and nodded.

Xu Hua panicked,

”Yang Xiao, you’re really putting me in a tough spot, aren’t you pushing me into the fire?”

”I chose you to lure the wasps for a reason. Among all these people, you’re the only one with Copper Skin, extremely strong Defense. Ordinary people would collapse from a single wasp sting, but I reckon you can take about seven or eight stings without major issues,”

Xu Hua swallowed hard and protested quickly:

”Who said I could take seven or eight stings without any problem? Look, I was stung once during the day, and it still hurts.”

Xu Hua rolled up his sleeves, pointing to a small red bump on his forearm.

Yang Xiao grabbed Xu Hua’s arm and said repeatedly:

”Oh my, incredible, you’ve exceeded my expectations. Ordinary people would die from the poison of a single sting, but you only have this tiny bump, barely different from a mosquito bite. You could take twenty or thirty stings without a problem.”

Xiao Zhe looked on and laughed:

”I got stung once today, and the bump was as big as a fist and still hasn’t gone down. You just have this little red dot; Xu Hua, your Copper Skin is really impressive.”

The rest of the onlookers also praised him, effectively putting Xu Hua on the spot.

Xu Hua thought, this is being forced upon me, hard to refuse now, huh?

Yang Xiao then added:

”To ensure foolproof safety, you can go to the Genetic Store and purchase a piece of Armor that adds 2 Defense points, which can withstand the wasps’ attacks. The Armor from the Genetic Store is much tougher than a denim jacket, thereby reducing most of the stinging injuries.”

Xu Hua immediately said:

”You make it sound easy, but I’ve asked Gu Bo; even the cheapest Armor costs 10 Crystal Coins. Where do we get so many Crystal Coins?”
