Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Kill the Dog

Xu Hua and Xiao Zhe both shouted and charged towards Black Dog.

Black Dog also roared and rushed towards Xu Hua.

Xu Hua thought, am I a pushover? Why always target me? His steel pipe viciously hacked towards Black Dog.

Although Xu Hua and Xiao Zhe acted selfishly during the catastrophe, they still showed some ferocity, which was beyond Yang Xiao’s expectations.

Seeing Black Dog pounce towards Xu Hua, Xiao Zhe hurriedly turned around to tackle Black Dog.

Black Dog leaped up, biting Xu Hua’s right hand; Xu Hua felt his bones might be crushed.

Xiao Zhe’s Wolf Claw fiercely clawed at Black Dog’s waist, tearing off a chunk of skin.

The toughness of Black Dog’s body exceeded Xiao Zhe’s expectation. Even a piece of rock could be marked by his claws, but he couldn’t penetrate Black Dog’s body.

At that moment, Yang Xiao rushed over from beside Xiao Zhe, his Black Long Sword stabbing towards Black Dog’s waist.

With a squelch,

The meter-long Black Long Sword pierced directly into Black Dog’s body.

Black Dog howled in pain and released Xu Hua’s mouth.

Yang Xiao exerted force on his wrist, the Black Long Sword slicing downward inside Black Dog’s body.

With a rip, the Black Long Sword tore through Black Dog’s belly, nearly splitting Black Dog in two, and the organs fell out as blood gushed out like a fountain.

Black Dog continued to wail, collapsing to the ground.

Yang Xiao took another step forward and swung his sword, splitting Black Dog in half right along the wound on its back.

Yang Xiao grabbed Black Dog’s hindquarters, carrying the entire back half, and walked towards Huang Wen and others’ camp without looking back.

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua were momentarily stunned, staring blankly for a few seconds, then watching Yang Xiao’s figure.

”Hey, Yang Xiao, why do you get to take the back half of Black Dog?”

The front half with the head has little meat, and the front legs aren’t as plump, but the hind legs are fatter and meatier.

”I saved both of your lives and gifted you half a dog, and you’re still not content?”

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua exchanged looks, sighed without a word, knowing without Yang Xiao, they might not only miss out on eating dog meat, but might not even be alive.

Yang Xiao approached the crowd watching.

Huang Wen, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, Feifei and others had already leaped out, shouting as they ran towards Yang Xiao.

”Boss, I love you! I love you to death!”

”Tonight, we have dog meat, yay!”

”Our boss is so cool and handsome!”

”Boss, I want to marry you!”

....

Yang Xiao looked at the group of dinosaur-level girls jumping around him excitedly, and just rolled his eyes.

”Eating dog meat is fine, but marrying me is out of the question.”

”No way, boss, you’re too handsome, how can we let other women snatch you away, haha...”

Yang Xiao could only give a bitter smile as he carried the dog meat towards his own camp, saying on the way:

”Can we go look through the ruins of the school cafeteria to see if we can find some other seasonings, like five-spice, star anise, cinnamon, garlic, vinegar, ginger, etc.? Especially salt, try to find more. Look in the school store; I guess nobody wants salt, we should be able to find some. Also, gather more firewood, but of course, be careful not to go too far, and work in groups of three to five.”

Upon arriving at his camp, Yang Xiao was surrounded by thirty excited girls, chattering nonstop. In their eyes, Yang Xiao was now a hero.

Chen Fei and Feifei led a group of girls to the school cafeteria ruins to look for seasonings and also to gather some firewood.

Huang Wen led a group of girls to handle half of the dog meat, which weighed at least a hundred pounds, as it was the back half which had more fat.

”Boss, how do we process this dog meat? We don’t have much water now, and washing it is problematic.”

Huang Wen asked.

”It’s actually simple, it doesn’t need water washing. Just start a bonfire, put the dog meat on top to burn off the fur, high heat will disinfect it, which is more effective than washing. Then cut it into pieces, sprinkle salt to dry it in the air as food for later. Tonight, let’s all enjoy a stewed dog meat dinner.”

After Yang Xiao finished, Huang Wen took the girls to start the fire. Moments later, a large flame blazed, and Huang Wen and others encountered a difficulty — how to lift this hundred-pound half dog to roast?

”Boss, it’s too heavy, how do we roast it?”

Yang Xiao smiled, picked up his three-meter long iron rod, heated it in the flames, then thrust it into the half-side of the dog meat, lifting the hundred pounds effortlessly with one hand.

This frightened Huang Wen and the others.

”Boss, how is your strength so great?”

”Hehe, I’ve told you, I’m currently mutating, strength increasing every day. After you mutate, you’ll gain strength too, like Feifei now; her hair can easily lift up a person weighing over a hundred pounds.”

Black Dog’s long hair sizzled in the flames, and in ten minutes, the dog hair was completely burned off, filling the air with a burnt scent.

Huang Wen and the others brought a door to use as a chopping board. Yang Xiao put the burned dog meat on it, and three girls with greater strength started cutting up the meat.

The girls had picked a chef’s knife, and with Yang Xiao’s two watermelon knives, it was just right.

”Don’t bother cutting the large bones, these knives can’t handle them anyway, just throw them in the pot to stew.”

Yang Xiao instructed.

The other half of the fire was ready, with a large pot set over it, filled with water. Huang Wen led the girls in preparing the food, and smiled at Yang Xiao:

”Boss, there’s nothing for you here, why don’t you rest? Didn’t get hurt, did you?”

”No injuries, and I don’t have much to do right now, I’ll just stay and watch. I’m worried about some reckless people coming to steal our dog meat.”

”That shouldn’t happen. After your impressive display just now, who would dare?”

”Yes, true.”

Half an hour later, Chen Fei and Feifei also returned to camp.

”Boss, we found about a dozen packets of salt at the school store.”

”We found a small bag of ginger and garlic at the school cafeteria, couldn’t find other seasonings.”

”We also picked up twenty or thirty iron bowls there; no worries about bowls for meals now.”

The cafeteria used to be stainless steel, thus in the rubble, even slightly dented, they remained usable.

Yang Xiao listened, felt it was not bad, nodded, and instructed:

”Be frugal with the salt, we don’t know when we’ll find these things again. Whenever passing by shop ruins or old teacher’s apartments in the future, keep an eye out for these household items.”

Seeing Feifei was back, Yang Xiao then assigned her to lead some girls on guard duty; Feifei had mutated and could now handle several average men by herself.
