Chapter 328: Chapter 183: Test of Faith (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

But the third strike!

Rein successfully activated it!

The Glimmering Greatsword, with a sliver of light nearly imperceptible, slashed towards the midsection of the berserk fish near the shore!

“Tssk!”

Under this blow, the opponent’s sturdy scales and subcutaneous exoskeleton provided hardly any trouble for the greatsword carrying the sliver of light, and it cleaved the fish into two!

To Rein, it felt as if he had been using a rusty, blunt kitchen knife to cut meat before, but just now, he had switched to a brand-new ‘Henckels’ kitchen knife.

This power gave Rein a shock at first!

But immediately after, it brought him great joy!

You see, it used to take at least two minutes for Rein to kill one of these nearshore berserk fish, but now, as soon as he could harness this mysterious energy, he could achieve a one-hit kill.

It was simply a qualitative change and improvement!

And just now, it took Rein only slightly over ten seconds to deal with the first berserk fish.

Facing the second oncoming berserk fish, Rein felt a hint of excitement because he hadn’t even had the time to properly savor that previous strike before it was over!

This time, he wanted to truly feel it…

In less than three minutes, Rein had slain five nearshore berserk fish!

But in the sea, Rein, holding the greatsword, still looked unsatisfied, as if he was still experiencing the difference.

However…

Rein’s killing efficiency left Bask speechless on the shore!

Bask hastily threw another tube worm into the sea.

Although Rein had been killing at an extremely fast pace, it was impossible for him to intercept all the berserk fish flocking towards the tube worm; thus, the last tube worm had already been gobbled up by the fish.

However, that was also its last meal because in less than two minutes, that berserk fish was killed on the spot by Rein.

The other youngsters on the shore, seeing Bask throw a second tube worm into the sea in less than three minutes, were all stunned!

Beforehand, whether it was Rein or Frode, those on the shore assisting by throwing tube worms would do so at intervals of about six or seven minutes, Frode being slightly slower, around seven minutes.

But this time, Bask threw the second tube worm in less than three minutes.

Could it be that Rein had just taken about three minutes to kill four or five nearshore berserk fish?

That…

Seemed unlikely!

Could it be because there were too few berserk fish attracted, only about three?

The onlookers exchanged shocked looks!

But they immediately stopped what they were doing and focused their attention to observe how many berserk fish were attracted by the second tube worm Bask threw.

One…

Two…

…

This time there were six!

They noted this number silently in their hearts.

Next, of course, was to watch Rein’s performance.

But Rein in the sea had just discovered that the mysterious energy was still unpredictable in its activation, and while its power was substantial during battle, it didn’t last long.

He had just used the mysterious energy to kill five nearshore berserk fish and it had almost halved this thread of mysterious energy!

Meaning, if he continued in the same way, this mysterious energy would be all but consumed.

…

Indeed, after another three-plus minutes, once Rein had killed the second wave of six berserk fish, that thread of mysterious energy was completely spent.

This time, the people on the shore were dumbstruck!

Such killing speed!

How could it be so fast?

Even the Goddess’s illegitimate child probably couldn’t do better!

…

However, without the boost of the mysterious energy, Rein’s killing speed decreased significantly, but it was still no problem for him to meet the objective of thirty nearshore berserk fish within one hour.

So, Rein continued slaying while silently sensing.

He discovered that the genesis of this mysterious energy seemed to stem from his body and that it regenerated rather slowly.

Rein estimated that to return to the previous level of energy, he would need almost half a day.

Perhaps, it might recover faster while he practiced the Bear King Breathing Technique.

But essentially, once depleted in battle, it would likely not recover and be usable again.

Thanks to the previous eleven berserk fish as a foundation, Rein managed to kill the target of thirty berserk fish in forty-eight minutes.

When he emerged from the sea, he found that everyone, including Master Ganther, was waiting for him on the shore.

“Very good, Rein. You have met the requirements of the fourth training task,” Master Ganther said, smiling at the soaking-wet Rein.

Rein smiled back and said, “Master, does that mean I can proceed to the next training?”

“No rush! There seems to be a change in your breathing technique; stabilize it these next few days,” Master Ganther smiled but did not agree for Rein to continue with the next training.

Hmm?

This…

Rein felt helpless.

After a moment’s thought, Rein still asked, “Master, could you at least introduce the content of the subsequent training tasks?”

Hearing this, all the young people around stopped what they were doing and listened intently with their ears perked up.

Although Master Ganther found it strange that Rein was eager for the subsequent training, he merely attributed it to Rein’s curiosity and didn’t think much of it, so he began to introduce:

“The fifth and final training task…”
