Chapter 327: Chapter 183: Faith Trial (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

Does Master Ganther mean to draw out this strand of mysterious energy and attach it to the sword?

Clearly, the key to the fourth training task—the ‘One Hour, Thirty Coastal Madness Fish Kill’—lies in the master’s words.

Thus, Rein, at the bottom of the sea, tried to mobilize this strand of mysterious energy within him to his Glimmering Greatsword.

When he focused his consciousness on the mysterious energy, there was indeed some effect; the energy started to move from within his body toward his arm, only it didn’t completely heed Rein’s command.

Once it reached his arm, it became disobedient and circulated back and forth instead.

This was like a child in a rice paddy, strenuously trying to catch a slippery and strong eel; despite all his efforts and using all his might, he could only grab its tail and failed to pull it out of its hole.

Rein fell silent.

After some contemplation, he guessed this was probably because he was not yet proficient enough with the new Bear King Breathing Technique…

Is there any faster way to increase proficiency than accumulating points?

Rein decided to invest some Skill Points into the new Bear King Breathing Technique.

However, after giving it some thought, he first checked the system notification:

[You have practiced the Bear King Breathing Technique, comprehension has improved!]

[Your Skill Bear King Breathing Technique has advanced, Experience +5]

Just thirty minutes had passed, and the Bear King Breathing Technique had only increased by 5 points, meaning if one practiced the breathing technique for ten hours a day, it would take twenty days to level it up to lv6.

But the crux of the problem is, even for a Peak Knight’s physical capabilities, it is impossible to train in the breathing technique for ten hours every day—two to three hours was the limit.

Therefore, the actual time span needed would be much longer.

Clearly, without special medicine or methods, improving the Bear King Breathing Technique could only rely on slow and steady progress over time.

This time, without hesitation, Rein added 1 Skill Point to the Bear King Breathing Technique.

On the attribute panel, the remaining Skill Points went from 6→5, while the Bear King Breathing Technique jumped from lv5 to lv6 (1/3000).

As the Bear King Breathing Technique advanced to lv6.

Instantly, a multitude of scattered memories of practicing the Bear King Breathing Technique were infused into Rein’s mind.

These fragmented memories of the breathing technique flitted through Rein’s mind like a series of images and were then integrated into the memory of his muscles and fascia as if it were instinct.

When Rein opened his eyes again, it felt as though he had undergone half a year of arduous training in the Bear King Breathing Technique.

Now, he could distinctly feel the accelerated circulation of blood throughout his body, as though he were at a Blacksmith’s forge, hammering iron next to a blazing furnace, while his muscles and fascia became tougher and stronger.

But the most important change was inside his body, where the strand of mysterious energy was moving and strengthening at an extremely fast pace. Soon, it had multiplied many times over, changing from a strand to several strands, and finally into a thin wisp.

This time, when Rein tried to guide it to the greatsword, it went significantly better.

After several attempts, he finally succeeded!

This time, the Glimmering Greatsword suddenly lit up with a barely noticeable faint sparkle.

Rein knew that must be what Master Ganther was talking about.

“Splash!” Rein burst out of the water and shouted to Bask on the shore, “Bask, I want to try again. Throw me some tube worms down now.”

Upon hearing Rein’s shout, Bask nodded and said, “Alright, Rein!”

In fact, Bask had been waiting on the shore for quite some time, as he was waiting to see when Rein would start the fourth training task, thinking today might be the day Rein would complete it.

Of course, he might fall short by one or two fish.

After all, yesterday Rein had already killed twenty-six Coastal Madness Fish within an hour, and the goal of thirty fish was just within reach.

Indeed, it wasn’t just Bask who was paying attention to Rein’s activities.

The moment Rein surfaced and shouted, it also drew the attention of several young people nearby who were also practicing killing Coastal Madness Fish.

They all looked sideways, focusing their gaze on Rein above the water.

Over the past few days, having seen Rein’s increasingly fast killing pace nearing the thirty-fish goal, they too wanted to see if this ‘newcomer’ who hadn’t been around for long would complete the fourth training task today.

“Plop!”

A tube worm was thrown by Bask into the sea not far from Rein!

Suddenly, four or five Coastal Madness Fish were set in motion by the scent and came charging from the nearby sea with ripples trailing behind, striking at the wriggling tube worm.

Seeing this, Rein took a deep breath, operated the Bear King Breathing Technique, and dived back into the water. This time, however, he chose to take the initiative, swimming towards the incoming Coastal Madness Fish.

Heading straight for the fastest and nearest Coastal Madness Fish, Rein struck hard with his Dual-Handed Greatsword, tearing a gash on its tough head and a trickle of pale red blood seeped out into the ocean.

However, since Rein had not managed to activate the wisp of mysterious energy, the damage from this strike was not much different from before.

It was only a bit stronger than previous attempts, which was probably because the ‘Bear King Breathing Technique’ had advanced to lv6.

“Shh!”

Next sword strike!

Still failed to mobilize!

The greatsword merely added another deep, bone-showing wound to the Coastal Madness Fish.
