Chapter 323: Chapter 182 Ding! Detection…… (Two in One Big Chapter)_2

As the distance between the frenzied nearshore fish and Rein rapidly closed!

This time, Rein started off by striking the midsection of one frenzied nearshore fish with his sword. Immediately, the pained fish began to counterattack against Rein.

The powerful tail fin of the frenzied nearshore fish swung violently, and the entire body of the fish, like a torpedo, rushed toward Rein at high speed.

However, this time, with the special effect ‘Precision lv2’ from the Giant Bear Sword Technique, Rein was able to hit the rapidly approaching frenzied nearshore fish with almost every move.

In just half a minute, Rein had added four or five cuts to the body of the frenzied nearshore fish.

Excessive blood loss caused the frenzied nearshore fish’s strength to decline, and its swimming speed further decreased.

Seeing this, Rein used ‘Limit Break’ and, after a few rounds, had his sword slash across the junction of the fish head and body, delivering a Furious Slash that decapitated the frenzied nearshore fish!

Throughout, he did not activate ‘Triple Stance,’ nor did he use the nearly ‘cheat-level’ core skill ‘Strength Burst.’

The time it took to kill a frenzied nearshore fish had improved from the initial five minutes to about two minutes now.

The overall combat efficiency had increased by more than a notch!

Rein couldn’t help but praise inwardly!

Even if he learned nothing else, just coming this far for the melee special effect ‘Precision’ alone was worth it.

After continuously killing three frenzied nearshore fish, the other frenzied fish dispersed since the roundworms were all eaten.

Meanwhile, Rein in the sea carefully reflected on his experiences.

He realized that although his combat power had been quite good, it was based on his superb physical condition, but he had never seriously reflected on his weapon and the combat skills he practiced.

For example,

Rein’s previous control over his body was like controlling a tractor—although the power was immense, there was no precision in the control.

But now, he was like driving a finely engineered sports car, steering exactly where he intended, achieving centimeter-level control.

Recalling the recent battle scene, Rein swung his greatsword and chopped at the frenzied nearshore fish, the error in his strike’s landing spot was merely three to five centimeters.

It could essentially be said that the attack position he visualized in his mind and that produced by his hands on the frenzied nearshore fish had very little difference.

Considering this was in high resistance seawater with the target moving at high speed.

However…

To become even more precise, Rein turned his gaze to the Knight (Transcendent) panel on the Giant Bear Sword Technique icon.

“…to unlock Precision lv3, meet the following conditions: first, Giant Bear Sword Technique lv9 or higher…” Rein muttered to himself.

No wonder!

In his past life, he had heard that some people, to practice precision in fencing, would hang a small ball on a string and then repeatedly practice aiming to pierce the swinging ball.

This was somewhat similar to his first training session of ‘cutting seaweed.’

Although the methods differed, ‘cutting seaweed in water’ was much more challenging than ‘piercing a small ball,’ but the purpose was the same.

Both were training the precision of the swordsmanship!

And now, considering the third training task—’kill ten frenzied nearshore fish in one hour’—it was a further enhancement of precision requirements, evolving Precision lv1 to lv2.

Because the frenzied nearshore fish moved in a variable acceleration curve, unlike the seaweed or the small ball, which moved in a regular pendulum-like motion.

Rein roughly estimated that when a formal Knight can exert the combat skill effect ‘Precision lv2,’ then he could successfully kill a frenzied nearshore fish within five minutes.

That meant he could complete this third training task.

Actually, the difference between a formal Knight and an experienced Knight wasn’t too significant.

Because the resistance in seawater far exceeded that in air, the power gap between an experienced Knight and a formal Knight was reduced.

Assuming on land, an experienced Knight’s combat strength would be 50% higher than that of a formal Knight, but in seawater, the power an experienced Knight could exert might only be 20% higher than that of a formal Knight.

Simply put, in the water, it was more about the skill and less about physical condition.

This was like comparing a bodybuilding strongman and a child swimming to see who was faster, where clearly, swimming skills mattered more than physical condition.

Of course, if the skill levels of the two were similar, the combat power of an experienced Knight would naturally be stronger than that of a formal Knight, and there wouldn’t be a reversal of the situation.

Additionally, Rein found it interesting that other frenzied nearshore fish would disperse by themselves after consuming all the roundworms.

This trait resembled solitary animals, like leopards, rather than group hunting animals like hyenas.

Otherwise, Rein would have faced an assault from multiple frenzied nearshore fish.

But this also had a downside, namely that five or six frenzied nearshore fish were attracted by a single roundworm, and yet Rein could only kill three, which was somewhat wasteful.

Thinking it over, Rein, carrying three frenzied nearshore fish, slowly walked ashore.

Almost immediately, he caught a whiff of food aroma and took a closer look.

He saw Bask below the cliff, had actually started a bonfire and was roasting the meat from beneath the hard scales of the frenzied nearshore fish on a fine sword, the enticing aroma wafting from it.
