Chapter 318 – 181: Comprehension (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

Three mornings later.

When Rein once again walked ashore from the sea, the faces of the people practicing swordsmanship on the beach were a mix of different expressions.

Seeing Rein stay underwater for at least fifteen minutes, Bask couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “Damn, why does it feel like I’m retarded compared to Rein’s learning progress…”

“It’s really fucking demoralizing!”

A few young people nearby glanced at each other. They felt the same way but didn’t say it out loud because of their vanity.

They were taught by the same teacher, but Rein seemed like an apprentice from an accelerated elite class while they were from ordinary classes; he had completed in one week what took them a month to learn.

No, it was even faster than that. Who could stand this!

The crew-cut man sighed to himself, “It looks like he has mastered it, spending just three days to master the Inner Breathing Technique. It took me a full five days.”

“Now, there’s one more in our batch.”

Currently, Rein’s proficiency level in the Inner Breathing Technique was lv3 (14/500).

As for why his improvement speed was so fast, it mainly relied on the accelerated enlightenment effect of the tenacious seaweed juice and the training in the sea.

But now, it seemed he had reached a bottleneck; the progress of the Inner Breathing Technique slowed after entering lv3.

In these three days, Rein also noticed that the young sword practitioners on the island would disappear for half a day every now and then, seemingly going on to the next phase of training.

But he didn’t ask.

Because in his view, focusing on doing the things he should be doing at the current stage, and pushing the progress and efficiency to the highest, was the most important thing.

The content afterwards would naturally be taught by Master Ganther.

In these three days, beneath the water, he practiced the Inner Breathing Technique while harvesting those tenacious seaweeds, gaining much insight.

Rein found that using the Dual-Handed Greatsword underwater required much higher precision in every move than on land.

If your greatsword swung at an off-angle, adjusting it underwater was much more difficult and slower than in air.

Furthermore, when Rein was chopping the tenacious seaweed, he found that to achieve the best effect with each sword strike, one had to observe and understand the rhythm of the swaying seaweed in the water.

This was a significant test of coordination for a swordsman’s hands, eyes, and heart.

Although Master Ganther hadn’t taught him anything else in these three days, with just the dynamic action of ’cutting seaweed’ and the stillness of practicing the ’Inner Breathing Technique,’ Rein had been working non-stop all day.

Rein had a feeling that even if from now on Master Ganther didn’t teach him the following content,

he would still be able to learn something from these two activities and significantly improve his swordsmanship level.

From others’ perspective, if they were to describe Rein in four words, ’Cultivation Maniac’ would be a perfect fit!

Aside from eating and sleeping, Rein rarely chatted or rested; he was either smeared with tenacious weed juice in the stone hut, realizing the Inner Breathing Technique, or ’cutting seaweed’ in the sea.

If one could overlook this area of the sea near the island from the sky, they would clearly see a noticeable ’bald patch’ in the large area where the tenacious seaweed was concentrated…

But… this truly couldn’t be blamed on Rein.

Because whenever Rein was cutting seaweed in the sea, the system prompts kept coming:

[You have trained in Underwater Giant Bear Swordsmanship, comprehension improved!]

[Your Skill Giant Bear Sword Technique has improved, Experience +15]

[You have trained in the Inner Breathing Technique, comprehension improved!]

[Your Skill Inner Breathing Technique has improved, Experience +2]

…

This was quite addicting.

Especially since the process of cutting seaweed underwater concurrently tempered both ’Giant Bear Sword Technique’ and ’Inner Breathing Technique,’ and moreover, the effect was much better than on land.

With Rein’s current lv7 level of Giant Bear Sword Technique, if he practiced on land, he would mostly gain +5 or +6 Experience, but cutting seaweed in the sea almost doubled that amount.

The efficiency was evident!

Additionally, Rein made another important discovery.

That was when he practiced the Inner Breathing Technique, he could clearly feel this training subtly influencing his original Giant Bear Breathing Technique, causing a minute change.

It seemed to incrementally enhance his internal organs and overall bodily functions, a change that became more evident as the level of the Inner Breathing Technique improved.

And this time, when Master Ganther stood on the rocks and saw Rein emerge from the water, dragging a long bundle of ’tenacious seaweed,’ not out of breath despite the intense fifteen minutes of activity, he knew Rein still had energy to spare.

That meant Rein had exceeded the task requirements.

Without waiting for Rein to approach him, Master Ganther took the initiative, saying, “That will do, Rein. You can now proceed to the third training. Follow me.”

People on the beach watched this scene with different thoughts running through their minds.

Although they knew from day one that Rein was strong, they found his perseverance even more astonishing. He practiced almost without rest, like an iron man.

So, in these three days, they had witnessed firsthand Rein’s visibly fast progress.

From initially lasting seven or eight minutes underwater when cutting seaweed to now being able to stay more than fifteen minutes, the improvement in the Inner Breathing Technique was too obvious.
