Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2072: Chapter 2074: Reunion

As for Little Cheng Su’s background, that was a mystery too and needed to be investigated thoroughly. Fortunately there was still that hitman; they could only start from him, and also luckily Cheng Su had insisted so strongly, so now it depended on what they could get from Ning Ge’s side!

But all of this was a bit too much of a coincidence!

Did Cheng Su have some scheme against the Cheng family? Cheng Yaozu didn’t dare think that way; after all, they’d been together for so long, and he knew her character well enough!

But so many coincidences made it feel abnormal!

With a tangled, chaotic mood, Cheng Yaozu returned to the Cheng family home. The living room was already packed; except for the eldest, Cheng Yaoguang, who was still out of town on an inspection, and the third brother who had gone off on another archaeology trip, everyone else was there.

When Cheng Su stepped through the door, everyone’s gaze fell on the little girl beside her whose hand she was holding.

Old Master Cheng, sick as he was, insisted on waiting in the hall. Now that he saw Little Cheng Su, he stood up in excitement, with Sister-in-law Cheng and the second sister-in-law supporting him from left and right.

”Child, come here.”

Their gazes swept over like searchlights, scaring Little Cheng Su. She clung tightly to Cheng Su’s leg and hid behind her.

”Xiao Susu, don’t be scared, all these people are your relatives.” Cheng Su squatted down and comforted her.

”I’m scared!” Little Cheng Su’s eyes blinked rapidly.

”You don’t have to be, they’ve been looking for you for a long time.” Cheng Su kissed her and said with a smile, ”How about I introduce everyone to you? From now on you’ll be living in this home!”

As she spoke, she led her by the hand and slowly walked toward the sofa. The feeling was strangely surreal, as if she herself were meeting the Cheng family members for the first time.

”This is your grandpa...” Cheng Su started by introducing the old man.

They still didn’t know what her generation actually was, but Old Master Cheng was already at such an advanced age. If his younger sister were still alive, she couldn’t possibly just now be a mother—she’d at least be a grandmother or even a great grandmother—so calling him Grandpa was perfectly reasonable.

”Child...” Old Master Cheng’s eyes blurred. If back then he’d only vaguely seen a shadow of his younger sister in Cheng Su, then in this little girl he seemed to see Suxin’s childhood; the two figures overlapped in his mind, and he couldn’t help calling out, ”Suxin!”

Found you, your big brother has finally found you!

The old man’s voice carried a note of grief that made everyone present feel a sting in their hearts.

For some unknown reason, Cheng Su also felt like crying. In this acknowledgment scene, it might be Little Cheng Su standing there, but in a way, wasn’t she facing it too?

These were their relatives, bound to them by blood.

”Old Master, please don’t get too worked up again, or your blood pressure will shoot up. There’s plenty of time; from now on this child will be living with us, you’ll have all the time in the world to be together. Your health is what matters most!” Sister-in-law Cheng tried to soothe Old Master Cheng.

Old Master Cheng hurriedly wiped his tears and said, ”Yes, yes.” He said yes, but his eyes never left Little Cheng Su.

Cheng Su went on introducing the others. Since she didn’t know the exact seniority, she could only have her acknowledge them according to the grandchildren’s generation; to Little Cheng Su, people like Cheng Yaozong were all maternal uncles.

After going around once, Little Cheng Su still stuck close behind Cheng Su. Her big, round eyes curiously surveyed everyone in the house. Seeing that they were all looking at her, but with no malice in their eyes, she gradually relaxed.

”She’s also called Cheng Su?” Ying Xiaoya asked. ”Then how are we supposed to call you from now on?”

When Cheng Su had been found and brought back back then, they had naturally given her this name. Now that the little girl had returned to the Cheng family, with Cheng Su’s name already established in the family, the name would probably have to be changed to avoid confusion.

Sure enough, Cheng Yaozong said, ”Old Master, now that we’ve brought her home, we can change her name when we register her household, right?”

Cheng Su’s eyes dimmed slightly. Even the name would be gone; perhaps in the end she really would vanish into nothingness?
