Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2055: Chapter 2057: A Lesson

Father Qi and Qi Fenglian rushed to Qing City, were picked up by Qi Taiguo and the others, and went straight to the hospital without even going home.

When they met Mother Qi, both had tears in their eyes. After all, being kidnapped, having a finger cut off, and almost losing one’s life was a terrifying ordeal for people like them who abide by the law. It’s normal to worry and be scared.

Father Qi often spoke harshly, but seeing his wife so weak and aged, he felt both heartache and resentment. It was all for a small gain, almost costing her life. Isn’t this seeking death? Does the family lack money that much? Chasing after that compensation led to such a huge issue.

So, after a bout of tearful complaints and realizing the injury was not fatal and she could be discharged soon, Father Qi couldn’t help but start reprimanding Mother Qi.

”I told you to return to the hometown, but you wouldn’t listen. Look at the mess you’ve made now. You’ve lost a finger, are you satisfied?” Father Qi angrily said, ”You believed them when they said they’d compensate you and followed them. This is just kidnapping; if you encountered those truly malicious ones, they might have stabbed you on the spot. Do you think this is a big city? There are plenty of villains here.”

Mother Qi, who was already crying sadly, cried even harder and felt even more scared upon hearing his words.

”Dad, let it be. Mom has learned her lesson,” Qi Fenglian said, unable to bear it and advised a few words.

”Whether she has learned her lesson, only she knows. This time, it’s a finger; what about next time? Ignorance itself isn’t terrifying. It’s only when you recognize your ignorance that you can understand your shortcomings. Your mother, she...” Father Qi sighed, squatted down, took out his tobacco pouch, then remembered he was in a hospital, and put it back.

Cheng Su went over to help him sit on the chair.

Father Qi patted her hand, thankful for this daughter-in-law, otherwise the Qi family might have been arranging a funeral!

”Dad, it’s all in the past. Let’s not bring it up. Mentioning it only brings sadness,” Qi Taiguo said. ”Now mom is okay. Although she’s lost a little finger, it won’t significantly affect her life. It’s a blessing in disguise.”

Now that the family’s situation is improving, they can live comfortably even without farming. Let the two elders enjoy their life!

”Taiguo, it’s fortunate you came back in time, otherwise who knows how this matter would have ended.” Father Qi held Qi Taiguo’s hand, then looked at Cheng Su, ”And Xiao Qi’s Mother too. It’s all thanks to the two of you. You are the eldest son and daughter-in-law of the family. Mom and Dad are getting old, and from now on, the family will rely on you!”

Qi Taiguo and Cheng Su exchanged a glance.

”Dad, you and Mom just wait and enjoy life.” Cheng Su smiled.

Mother Qi listened, crying intermittently with deep sadness and distress.

Qi Fenglian was beside her, comforting her with a long sigh. Truly, the heaven can bring unexpected storms; clearly, it was supposed to be a joyful family reunion with the older brother coming home, yet it turned into such a disaster. Is this an unlucky year?

And that crazy woman, Qi Fenglian replayed the memory in her mind again and couldn’t believe that the woman who appeared so noble could become so heartless when she went mad.

”What’s happening with that woman now? Has she been sentenced? This kidnapping and harming others should be serious crimes, right?” Qi Fenglian asked curiously.

Upon mentioning Chiang Qing, Qi Taiguo’s face darkened, not wanting to talk about this person. Seeing everyone curious, Cheng Su had no choice but to step forward and explain the situation.
