Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2062 -2064: Let’s Go Back to Our Hometown

Mother Qi once again had a nightmare about the suffering she endured during the kidnapping, pleading repeatedly not to be killed, not to have her fingers cut off, crying and shouting, startling Father Qi awake.

Father Qi woke her up with a pat, and as Mother Qi opened her eyes and saw her own husband, her tears flowed uncontrollably. She grabbed his hand: “Old man, I dreamed of that woman again. She wanted to kill me, that vicious woman, so terrifying.”

“You were just dreaming!” Father Qi picked up the thermos, poured her a glass of water, and said, “Have some water.”

Mother Qi sat up, drank the large glass of water with his help, and then looked at her own bandaged hand and said, “Even if it’s a nightmare, it’s true. My fingers are gone, and now I’m disabled forever!”

A nightmare is still a nightmare, but it is also a fact that she was cruelly amputated a finger.

This kind of nightmare and experience will probably accompany her for life, after all, it was too terrifying.

Father Qi remained silent for a moment and said, “Do you understand the lesson now?”

Mother Qi was taken aback.

“These are things around our son. He is a soldier and constantly goes on missions which might offend a lot of people, so as his family, we might be targeted too.” Father Qi sat on the chair and said, “Take this incident for instance; it’s because of a personal matter, due to that woman named Chiang Qing who went crazy after failing to get what she wanted. She believes we in Taiguo harmed her. Therefore, she targeted us, targeted Taiguo. As she said, she originally intended to kidnap Taiguo’s wife and Xiao Qi but couldn’t manage it, which is why she took you instead. What does this indicate? It indicates that as Taiguo’s family, none of us can escape this. And regardless of who gets kidnapped, what difference does it make to Taiguo? If it had been Xiao Qi, he’s just a child, would he be able to escape that woman’s cruelty?”

He certainly couldn’t escape!

Xiao Qi, her big grandson, such a clever child. Thinking about that vicious woman, if Xiao Qi had been the target, then…

Mother Qi’s heart was racing, unable to dare continue her thoughts, she opened her mouth but didn’t say a word.

“Let’s leave this behind and not talk about it for now. Look at this big city, it’s undoubtedly beautiful, and prosperous. But you’ve seen it, right? All kinds of people exist here, even a child can trick you; isn’t it dangerous and frightening? It’s not just about scammers or thieves, there’s also robbery and murder.” Father Qi’s voice was calm: “We’re just ordinary folks who lived peaceful lives for decades and can’t compete with their wit and ruthlessness.”

Indeed, wasn’t it because that kid seemed just a poor lad that she followed him, not knowing he’d turn out to be a villain.

Moreover, no one expected a woman to be so vicious, thinking about the scene where she mercilessly sliced off her little finger, Mother Qi swallowed hard, her heart trembling.

“Old lady, let’s go back home. Home is safer at least, we’re two old bones, once young lovers, now we accompany each other to complete our lifetime together!” Father Qi voiced his thoughts.

He didn’t like Guangcheng, despite it being a major city, although he wished to be with the children and grandchildren, he didn’t want to hold back his children.

Guangcheng is for the young. They can stay if they wish, come by occasionally if they want to, and the children can visit during holidays and festivals, fulfilling the bond between parents and children.

Children grow up and develop wings, they should soar higher, so why cling to them? Without burdens, they can fly higher.

Thus, going back home is the best choice, a place for them to spend the rest of their lives.
