Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2060: Chapter 2062: One Day, I’ll Tell You a Secret

Cheng Su sat quietly beside Old Master Cheng’s bed, hands clasped with fingers interlaced against her lips, looking at the old man before her, his eyebrows, his contours, trying to find her own shadow in him.

But she couldn’t find it, nor did she know how to.

No, it can’t be, could she really be a descendant of Grandma Cheng? How could it be possible?

Yet why did her heart feel so joyful and excited upon learning the photograph looked so much alike? What did this mean?

Cheng Su didn’t know why she was so excited, she hoped for it, yet dared not expect it, fearing disappointment.

Xiao Qi said to face it calmly, but how could she? Before, she longed so much for family bonds, yearned for family and relatives, and now hearing she might have already reunited, if it’s not true, then...

She would be very disappointed!

Old Master Cheng coughed lightly twice, and Cheng Su gently patted him.

He’s old now, and it’s uncertain how long he’ll live, if the test results come out and it’s not favorable, he would probably be more disappointed, after all, he’s been searching so long, more than anyone he hopes to find any relative, even if the sister is no longer in this world, her descendants would be fine!

So, the result is even more important to him.

This kind and lovely old man, Cheng Su’s eyes turned slightly red.

Her hands came together again, silently making a wish, praying that the result would be as he wished, not for herself, but for him, this elderly man can’t endure another disappointment.

Otherwise, he might not make it through.

”Why are your eyes red?” The sudden question brought Cheng Su back to reality.

It turned out that Old Master Cheng had woken up, seeing her red eyes, slightly wet rims, he couldn’t help but smile and ask, ”Why are you crying, afraid I’ll die?”

Such a silly girl, he already felt something was off, as if someone was crying in the room, when he opened his eyes, he saw Cheng Su sitting by the bed alone.

It’s still the daughter who’s more caring!

”Don’t say such things!” Cheng Su covered his mouth, playfully scolding.

”Then tell me, why are you crying?” Old Master Cheng tried to prop himself up from the bed, Cheng Su quickly helped him sit up and placed a pillow under his waist to make him more comfortable.

”I wasn’t crying, I haven’t been sleeping well these past few days, my eyes hurt, they tear up in the wind.” Cheng Su replied.

Old Master Cheng chuckled, not exposing her lie, and said, ”Then you shouldn’t have come over, you’ve just been through a disaster yourself, you should be resting well.”

”It’s cold and lonely at home, I came for some company.” Cheng Su said, ”Besides, if I hadn’t come, I wouldn’t have known you were ill.”

Old Master Cheng sighed, ”As people age, their thoughts increase.”

Cheng Su opened her mouth, hesitated.

”Just say what you need to say.”

”Xiao Qi said you went to the orphanage, to visit that child I sponsor!” Cheng Su pursed her lips and said.

Old Master Cheng was taken aback, then nodded, ”That child looks very much like your aunt, I... was just holding onto a little hope, actually, it’s very slim, I’m becoming an old fool.” ”Having hope is always better than having none. We live our lives striving hard after all, isn’t it for hope?” Cheng Su smiled and said.

”Yes indeed! I just can’t resign myself to this, I don’t want to take this unwillingness to the grave, so even if there’s only a 0.01% chance, I have to try to confirm it.” Old Master Cheng’s eyes brightened slightly and he said, ”I believe, the heavens won’t abandon me! Even if it’s not the case, it’s nothing, I can still wait.” Just unsure for how long he can wait.

Cheng Su’s nose tingled, she leaned over, hugged his waist, and rested her head on him, ”Godfather, you need to get better soon, in the future, I will tell you a secret!”

A secret? Old Master Cheng didn’t mind, he patted her back, the girl was acting coquettishly, afraid he would die!

Ah, such a silly child!
