Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2066: Chapter 2068: Joy and Shock

Although Father Qi and the others had decided to return to their hometown, because Mother Qi’s health was still weak and her severed finger had not fully healed, she still needed to go to the hospital for check-ups and medication changes, so they couldn’t move for a while.

Mother has been discharged from the hospital, and this time Qi Fenglian, who has a family, came alone to visit her mother. Xiao Bao and the others were with Chu Changxing, so being away for a long time was not possible, and she went back to Qing City first.

As for Father Cheng and the others, they also moved their home here this time, so they have settled in at their house in Guangcheng.

With just a few days left until Mid-Autumn Festival, Qi Taiguo’s vacation still had some days left, so they decided to spend Mid-Autumn in Guangcheng before sending the elderly couple back home.

Cheng Su thought of the house in Qing City—whether to rent it out, not for the rental income, but because a house needs someone to live in it to have vitality and to prevent it from deteriorating easily.

Of course, renting it out isn’t done carelessly. If it’s rented to some lousy people who make a mess of the house, it’s upsetting, as everyone cares about their house.

This is considered a minor issue. Qi Taiguo, following the idea of men handling external affairs and women managing domestic matters, let Cheng Su decide.

Since she was making the decision, it meant renting it out. Cheng Su thought about handling this while sending her in-laws back.

”... Previously, Ning Ge sent Fei Yin over, and she helped us so much. Now that things are sorted and although she’s returned, we should also send a gift back. What do you think would be good?” Cheng Su remembered Fei Yin again.

Fei Yin helped protect her family for a few months, and although Xiao Qi was safe and sound, she still made an effort, and both emotionally and rationally, they should send a gift of thanks. ℯℯ𝑙.

”That’s something you should decide!” Qi Taiguo said.

Cheng Su gave him a look and remembered Fei Yin had mentioned liking diamonds, so she thought of simply buying a diamond necklace for her.

And Ning Ge, who helped them the most, what kind of gift to send still seemed insufficient. Oh, and there’s Cheng Yaozu.

Cheng Su counted on her fingers, looking troubled, ”Unknowingly, we’ve incurred such a debt of gratitude to so many people, that’s going to take some paying back!”

”Then repay it over a lifetime!” Qi Taiguo deliberately raised his voice when he noticed a certain child flipping through an ancient history book, ”If we can’t repay it, isn’t our son still here? As they say, a father’s debt is repaid by his son, so you don’t need to worry.”

Cheng Su understood and looked at Qi Xiaoqi. Yes, they had a son.

Qi Xiaoqi rolled his eyes at this pair of parents, finding them boring, and continued flipping through his book, as he was very curious about the world’s history.

Being disdained by their son, the couple touched their noses simultaneously and coughed.

The phone rang, Qi Taiguo picked it up, and upon hearing the voice on the other end, his expression immediately became serious as he listened to the conversation inside.

After hanging up the phone, Cheng Su asked, ”Who called? You look so serious.”

”It was Chief Ning Gang.” Qi Taiguo said with a smile: ”My first-class merit has been approved. He said by next year at the latest, I’ll be transferred to the Guangcheng Military Region to serve as deputy regiment level, with the rank of major.”

Oh, this is good news!

After a period filled with worries, finally hearing good news, Cheng Su beamed with joy and extended her hand, ”Deputy Commander Qi, congratulations.”

Qi Taiguo was also happy, as they could finally reunite as a family, he shook her hand.

The phone rang again, Qi Xiaoqi saw his parents tightly clasping hands in happiness and shook his head as he went to answer the phone.

Soon, he shouted, ”Stop celebrating, the Cheng family called, the old man has fainted!”

Hit with joy and shock simultaneously, Cheng Su and Qi Taiguo were stunned, forgetting their happiness and quickly took Qi Xiaoqi to rush to the Cheng family.
