The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1297: Chapter 1297: Are you free tomorrow? Accompany me to meet someone.

She knows Amadeus Yancey more or less has a cleanliness obsession.

After going out, he always takes a shower when he returns.

Tonight, after drinking liquor with her dad, he didn’t go back to his room to shower first.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t expect Nathalie Quinlan to ask him about taking a shower, paused for a moment, then smiled, walked over, handed the water in his hand to the girl, and said gently, ”I’ll go right away. I just wanted to bring you the water first; I’ll go after I’ve done that.”

Nathalie Quinlan murmured, took the mineral water from his hand, lowered her raven-black eyelashes, and twisted the cap open with one hand.

She hadn’t drunk yet.

She heard the man as if intentionally, or perhaps unintentionally, say, ”Do you dislike the smell of alcohol on me?”

Nathalie Quinlan paused her action of twisting the cap, her heart felt as if brushed by a feather, itchy, tender, hot, and restless.

She pursed her lips, her dark eyes looked over, and she slowly said, ”Not really... just felt a bit strange, so I asked.”

”If you don’t like it, I’ll try to drink less in the future.” Amadeus Yancey responded naturally, continuing in line with her words. He looked slightly helpless, pinched the bridge of his nose, his eyes profound and spirited: ”Today was an exception; Uncle Zachmann was here, and I wanted to have a drink with him.”

It was mainly because he hadn’t expected Nathalie Quinlan to directly introduce his identity in front of Mr. Zachmann, initially he just said they were friends.

Since Nathalie Quinlan acknowledged his identity, as a junior, he ought to drink a couple of glasses with Mr. Zachmann out of courtesy.

Though it happened suddenly, politeness is indispensable; he shouldn’t embarrass her.

”Master, was my performance satisfactory today?” Amadeus Yancey thought about this, his gaze suddenly softened, as if inundated with stardust.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t say much initially; seeing he was still explaining himself, a rush of heat arose in her heart, hot, yet she couldn’t pinpoint where it was hot, her cheeks and ear lobes seemed to warm up. She turned aside, holding the mineral water bottle, slightly embarrassed and teasing: ”Cough, cough, it was alright.”

”Nathalie, just alright?” Amadeus Yancey was obviously not satisfied with this answer, but Mr. Yancey evidently didn’t have the urgency of other men; even in such matters, he remained calm and collected, his voice hoarse and enticing: ”Then I’ll keep trying next time.”

”Cough.”

Nathalie Quinlan really choked on her own saliva this time.

Fortunately, she reacted quickly, clutching the cap, she tilted her head and used drinking water to conceal her embarrassment.

Amadeus Yancey knows her temperament too well, he knows when to stop, so he didn’t continue further. He went to the bathroom to get a towel for her, stood behind her, naturally and skillfully helped her dry her damp hair, while preventing Nathalie Quinlan from tensing up, cleverly changed the topic: ”Do you have time tomorrow morning?”

Nathalie Quinlan’s attention was entirely focused on her back; her body instinctively wary of any presence behind her, yet the faint mint scent from Amadeus Yancey made her let her guard down.

With someone helping her dry her hair, Nathalie Quinlan’s shoulders unconsciously relaxed, she seemed like a lazy cat half-closing her eyes, lazily saying: ”Hmm, tomorrow? Doesn’t seem to be anything.”

”Will you accompany me to meet someone tomorrow?” Amadeus Yancey helped her dry the moisture in her hair, his fingers passing through the girl’s inkstone-like shoulder-length hair; his actions were very gentle, should Alfred Garland see him drying Nathalie Quinlan’s hair here, his jaw would definitely drop.

Amadeus personally serving someone???

This person must have immense face.

The room was warm, Nathalie Quinlan was starting to feel a bit sleepy, she yawned, succinctly asked him: ”What time tomorrow?”
