The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1257: Chapter 1257: Someone Was Shocked and Nervous Upon Seeing Nathalie Quinlan

He faced the girl’s calm, slender face under the brim of her hat, silently suppressing his worries, and reached out to pat her shoulder, forcing a smile: ”Hmm, don’t feel too much pressure!”

Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyes, her deep eyes dark, with a hint of brightness inside. She raised her hand again to pull down the brim of her hat, her voice hoarse: ”Okay.”

*

Nathalie Quinlan entered the competition.

Outside, the teachers from Tsinghua University’s computer science department gathered, each more stressed than the next.

They watched as Leo Dunn sent Nathalie Quinlan inside, anxiously waiting for Leo Dunn to return and immediately surrounded him upon his arrival.

”Professor Dunn, what did Nathalie Quinlan say?”

”Did she go through the information we prepared for her? And the videos of past competitions, did she watch them all?”

Leo Dunn pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took one out and lit it, the big man shouldering all the pressure: ”She said she saw them. Let’s wait~!”

He took a puff of his cigarette, his gaze fixed on the screen where the results would appear, taking a deep breath, and continued in a steady tone: ”Right now, besides waiting for the results, there’s nothing else we can do. So, let’s wait! Wait for the results to come out.”

A few teachers from the computer science department exchanged glances, then fell silent.

Indeed.

This is the first time the nation has entered the group stage, and they have no experience in group stage competitions. Moreover, the person competing is not a student from their computer science department.

Besides waiting for the results, they cannot do anything.

So let’s wait!

...

The group stage, like the preliminary rounds, is an online competition with four people in a group, divided into groups A, B, C, and D, with only the first place advancing to the finals.

The rules of this competition seem similar to the preliminary rounds, but there are differences — for example, everyone can watch the live broadcast of the preliminary rounds, but the group stage involves some core technologies in the computer field, so unlike the preliminary rounds, the group stage is not broadcast externally.

Everyone must wait for the final results to come out.

In the art building, besides a large group of Tsinghua professors led by Leo Dunn waiting for the final results, there were also a few foreigners with blonde hair and blue eyes occupying one side of the art building, similarly waiting for the competition results.

They all saw Nathalie Quinlan just went in.

Watching the girl take her backpack and enter, they huddled together, whispering to each other.

”Is the person who just entered the representative of Zenla this year? She looks very young.”

”And she’s a woman. What do women know about computers!” someone said arrogantly, revealing an inherent contempt for domestic computing and women.

The others did not attack Nathalie Quinlan’s gender but equally looked down on domestic computer technology, sneering at his words.

”They probably just picked someone at random,” the person speaking couldn’t hide his inherent arrogance, speaking fluently in foreign language: ”I can only say the quality of people in this year’s preliminary rounds is too poor, letting them enter the group stage. But it doesn’t matter, someone has been pre-determined as the last place in our group C, it’s also a good thing for us!”

They talked enthusiastically, but one person didn’t join their discussion.

These people each looked down on Zenla’s computer technology and didn’t have high hopes for Nathalie Quinlan’s capability. In just a few sentences, they already pinned the last place on Nathalie Quinlan, as if they didn’t need to see the final results, the top three might be uncertain, but the last place must be someone from Zenla!

Among them, only one person’s mature and handsome face was filled with shock. His eyes fixed on the direction where the girl went, opening his mouth several times, his lips quivering uncontrollably, as if he was both very surprised and very anxious and fearful.
