The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1264: Chapter 1264: Want to Invite Hendrik Zachmann to Support the Event

Caryn didn’t pick up immediately. She waited for a long time, until the phone almost hung up itself, and then she expressionlessly answered, ”Hello, brother.”

She thought Hendrik was calling to talk about Nathalie Quinlan, but surprisingly his tone over the phone was as usual, as if he hadn’t heard about Nathalie breaking into the finals of the world software competition.

”Caryn, I saw the message you sent me; you passed the preliminary review of Master Cadmus’ laboratory?”

Speaking of this good news, Caryn’s unpleasant face finally softened a bit, and she forced a smile, softening her tone: ”Mm.”

”Congratulations!”

It was evident that Hendrik was genuinely happy for her.

Caryn’s terrible mood somewhat improved. She tucked her hair behind her ear, then let her hand fall, speaking quite modestly: ”I only passed the preliminary review.”

”There are seven or eight others who passed along with me. Master Cadmus will choose two among us, and only two will enter the laboratory. I’m not sure if I’ll be selected by Master Cadmus.”

Hendrik seemed to have a lot of confidence in her, smiling: ”Don’t worry, your abilities will definitely get you into Master Cadmus’ laboratory!”

Caryn’s mood finally brightened, a proud smile appearing on her face. Holding the phone, she remembered the upcoming meal, and told Hendrik, ”Brother, do you have time later?”

”Something up?”

Caryn pursed her lips, her eyes darkened, and then she said, ”I invited some friends to play at Serenity Clubhouse. If you have time, would you like to join us? My friends haven’t met you yet, and I can introduce you to them.”

Hendrik, without thinking much, curiously asked, ”Don’t you usually hang out with Mr. Vinson and his group? Isn’t Mr. Vinson coming today?”

He wasn’t familiar with Sadam Vinson and his group.

Unlike Audrick, who was part of the same inner circle as Sadam Vinson and the others.

Hendrik was introverted, more like Leonardy Zachmann, and didn’t get along with Sadam’s circle.

But he knew Sadam Vinson and had met him a few times before.

So when Hendrik heard her saying she wanted to introduce him to friends, he reflexively asked her.

Caryn’s barely improved complexion went pale again due to his question, her fingers tightened, knuckles whitened, and she murmured softly, ”Him? He’s busy today and can’t make it.”

”Haven’t you always had a good relationship with them? You passed the preliminary review of Master Cadmus’ laboratory and invited them to celebrate; aren’t any of them coming?” Hendrik hadn’t realized he’d inadvertently hit a sore point with his biological sister, and was pressing on for more.

Caryn felt more embarrassed by his questioning, her throat dry, as if someone was choking her, making it hard to speak: ”It’s not that none of them are coming. Some friends will be there! If they can’t make it, it’s fine. I still have to celebrate.”

Hendrik belatedly caught the frustration in her tone and, finally acting ’smartly,’ didn’t pursue the topic further, promptly asking, ”Where did you say the dinner was?”

Caryn: ”Serenity Clubhouse.”

Hendrik knew this clubhouse, one of the more famous wealthy clubs in Beijing with many facilities to enjoy.

The place also had a large area.

There was a private golf course and an equestrian ground, and many second-generation rich people in Beijing liked to play there.

Serenity Clubhouse, like Rivendell, belonged to private clubs, accessible only to clubhouse VIP clients, not just anyone could go there to play.

Caryn had always socialized with the top circle in Beijing, naturally holding a VIP at Serenity Clubhouse.

Hendrik responded with a hum, didn’t say much more, asked about Caryn’s location, and then said, ”Wait for me there; I’ll drive over to pick you up.”
