The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Where Does Nathalie Quinlan Look Like Someone Who Lacks Money_1

”I can’t guarantee 100% that he will be able to run and play basketball like a normal boy, but at least his condition will be better than before. If his recovery goes well, it’s not impossible for him to have a healthy left leg like any other child.”

”Even if the post-operative recovery is mediocre, Edric will be able to walk normally and won’t limp anymore.”

Candice Yancey couldn’t believe her own ears and grabbed her hand excitedly, ”Miss, is what you’re saying true?”

”Edric, will he really be able to walk like a normal child?”

Amadeus Yancey saw her eyes welling up with excitement and introduced Nathalie Quinlan: ”This is Candice Yancey, Edric’s grandma, my aunt. You can call her ’Auntie’.”

Candice Yancey didn’t care about formalities; she cared more about what Nathalie Quinlan had just said, struggling to control her trembling hands, fearing it was all a dream: ”Call me whatever, I don’t mind. Miss, you just said Edric will be able to walk normally and won’t limp anymore, is that true?”

Alfred Garland felt just as excited.

The young master being able to walk like a normal child was something he didn’t dare to imagine before, but Ms. Quinlan made it happen.

Even as a grown man, he couldn’t help but feel his blood boil with excitement, and his heart was filled with nothing but gratitude.

”Ms. Quinlan, is it true?” He also wanted to ask this.

Nathalie Quinlan, upon hearing him introduce Candice Yancey as Edric’s grandma, softened her somewhat impatient and weary face, nodded her head, and looked at them with her dark eyes.

”It’s true.”

She considered for a moment how to explain it: ”Edric was very brave during the surgery. I only gave him local anesthesia, and he cooperated through the entire process. The surgical results were better than I had expected. As long as he rests well post-op, the worst-case scenario is that he’ll be able to walk normally...”

The worst case was the best outcome they had dreamt of for years!

And the best outcome was beyond their wildest dreams.

”Being able to walk is good, being able to walk is great.”

Candice Yancey repeated the word ’good’ several times, liking Nathalie Quinlan more and more, wishing she could present all the best things in the world before her to choose from, to express her gratitude.

But she didn’t carry much with her and didn’t know what to give in the heat of the moment. In an impulsive act, she opened her platinum bag she carried with her, took out her wallet, and pushed a bank card forcefully into Nathalie Quinlan’s hand.

”Miss, please take this. There’s ten million in there. It’s not much, but it’s a token of my sincerity. You saved Edric, and I really don’t know how else to thank you. I didn’t bring much with me in my hurry to leave, so please take this.”

Alfred Garland saw her pushing the bank card and felt a bit embarrassed and awkward.

To someone with the status of the miracle healer Ms. Quinlan from McKinney, she hardly seemed like someone short on money.

When they first sought Ms. Quinlan’s help for the young master’s illness, they offered a nine-figure sum which Ms. Quinlan didn’t accept.

If not for this incident, he still wouldn’t have known about Ms. Quinlan’s true identity.

Ten million might be a large sum for ordinary people, but in front of Ms. Quinlan, it seemed somewhat insignificant...

Amadeus Yancey also knew Nathalie Quinlan didn’t need the money. Massaging his throbbing temples, he said to Candice Yancey, ”Auntie, you should put the card away.”

Candice Yancey, not understanding, got a bit angry, ”What are you talking about! Miss has saved Edric, fixed his leg. Not to mention ten million, even twenty or thirty million wouldn’t be too much. What’s wrong with me giving a little gift of gratitude to the young lady!”

She glared at Amadeus Yancey, then turned her head and with a gentle look said to Nathalie Quinlan, ”Miss, don’t listen to him, take the card.”
