The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Nathalie Quinlan Arrives_1

Alfred Garland blocked the way, and not a single person from the Fisher Family dared to barge in.

Both parties stood in confrontation right outside the hospital room door.

At last, Nathalie Quinlan hurriedly arrived.

Her dark eyes didn’t even glance at the crowd by the door; she went straight past them and hastily asked, ”Alfred, how is Edric?”

Seeing her arrival, Alfred breathed a sigh of relief, his expression softened, and he spoke to Nathalie in a familiar manner, a stark contrast to how he had addressed the Fishers.

”The young master is in the room. I followed your instructions and didn’t let anyone disturb him, but the injury to his leg is very severe...”

Nathalie’s heart clenched at the words ”very severe,” and she pursed her lips, saying, ”Let me take a look first.”

”Alright.”

Alfred stepped aside, letting her in immediately.

As Nathalie entered, Ghania Quinlan said softly with resentful and aggrieved eyes, ”Why can she go in, and we can’t?”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but in the confined space of the corridor outside, it was enough for everyone to hear clearly.

Sure enough, the faces of Mrs. Fisher and Richardo Fisher turned sour.

Zayn Fisher also showed an expression of humiliation.

As powerful as the Yancey Family might be, Edric still shared half of their blood. Amadeus Yancey was being too much!

Little did they know, Alfred flipped his eyelid without giving Ghania any face and coldly countered her, ”Ms. Quinlan knows medical techniques; do you?”

”I...” Ghania was extremely indignant.

What medical techniques did Nathalie know? That was a fluke, a blind cat running into a dead mouse, just a coincidence!

Given Edric Yancey’s precious status, how could they trust a high school student with no qualifications like Nathalie to treat him? If she failed to cure him...

She almost bit her lip until it bled, clenched her fists tight, her eyes flickering with malice as she wished in her heart that Nathalie would fail to cure him, so that just like herself, Nathalie would have to take responsibility for this matter!

Then she could easily push all the blame onto her, claiming that Nathalie’s stubbornness delayed the doctors’ best chance to save him.

Even if Edric ended up disabled, it would have nothing to do with her.

...

In the hospital room.

As soon as Nathalie entered and saw Amadeus Yancey looking exhausted, standing in a circle with a group of doctors in white coats by the bed,

one of the doctors was holding Edric’s CT photo and speaking seriously to him, ”Mr. Yancey, the child’s condition is very bad. As you can see from this CT photo, he has an open fracture of the left tibia with two fracture sites, and a comminuted fracture of the fibula!

Actually, it’s not that there’s no way to treat this, as long as we perform a tibial and fibular plate fixation surgery on him. But the problem is he’s too young; his bones are still growing.

Another reason is that his left ankle joint was originally deficient by nature, and this time the ligament is strained in addition to the comminuted fracture...”

Amadeus’s voice was deep and hoarse as he interrupted, ”Just tell me if there’s any possibility to treat his leg.”

”Well...” The head of orthopedics at City Hospital hesitantly lowered his head, not daring to look into his eyes, ”Theoretically it’s treatable, but our technological capability is limited, I’m afraid it won’t result in him fully recovering to his previous state. The best we can do is maintain the leg so that there is still a possibility for future treatment.”

That meant his leg was basically ruined.

Amadeus closed his eyes for a moment and then reopened them, his pupils suppressing the surging anger, ”What’s the worst-case scenario?”

Under the pressure of his formidable presence, the doctor’s voice grew fainter, ”The best-case scenario is keeping the hope for future treatment, and the worst-case scenario is... amputation.”

A five-year-old child, like a barely blooming bone bud, whose life had just begun and was supposed to be filled with endless wonder, was facing such a trial at such a tender age.

This physical pain is something money can’t compensate for.

The doctors couldn’t bear to look at the still conscious child’s face on the bed.

What was uttered was too cruel for an innocent child.

But that was the harsh reality.

Listening to the doctor give Edric Yancey a death sentence, Nathalie’s pretty oval-shaped face looked somewhat fierce, emanating confidence and strength. Her fair little hand reached out and she suddenly interjected, ”That CT you’re talking about, let me see it.”
