The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 186: Chapter 186: Amadeus Said No One Can Enter_1

Ghania Quinlan appeared on the verge of collapse, frantically trying to explain through her tear-filled, pear-blossom-like eyes, ”Auntie, I didn’t mean to cause Edric to fall, believe me, I tried to catch him but failed, I was injured too.”

Indeed, there was a circle of gauze wrapped around her left knee, with hints of blood seeping through, making her look pitiable. She lifted her eyes to Zayn Fisher, full of pleading like a frightened little deer, as if seeking his help.

Zayn Fisher couldn’t bear it, unconsciously stepped forward, and shielded her as he spoke up for Ghania, ”Mom, I believe Ghania didn’t do it on purpose. She was injured as well, it was just an accident.”

”At a time like this, you’re still defending her!”

Mrs. Fisher had never seen someone so muddle-headed, almost fainting from anger, wishing she could slap some sense into him.

Didn’t he see that the Yancey family was still here?

Why was he so eager to protect this Ghania Quinlan!

She glared at her son fiercely, pointing at Ghania’s nose with exasperation as if to say: ”Does it matter whether she did it on purpose or not? Your nephew broke his leg because of her, and he’s still lying in the hospital room. Do you know that your nephew already had a disability in his left leg? Can a simple ’it wasn’t intentional’ solve the problem? Ah! Before protecting her, did you even think about your brother and me—or about your poor little nephew?”

Alfred Garland felt uncomfortable hearing her repeatedly use the word ”disability” and describing the situation as pitiable, his brow furrowing in response.

She is just a foreigner and never brings up the little young master’s leg problem, yet they, his blood relatives, who knew how self-conscious he was, always liked to talk about it. No wonder the little young master, even after coming to McKinney, didn’t want to have anything to do with them!

”Enough, stop arguing. Let’s go see Edric first!” Richardo Fisher was, after all, Edric Yancey’s biological father.

With a face like thunder, he pulled the two apart, and Mrs. Fisher and Zayn Fisher temporarily put aside their conflict, planning to go into the hospital room to see him.

Ghania also followed behind Zayn Fisher, her eyes red and full of eagerness to go in too.

But just as they reached the door, Alfred Garland suddenly stretched out his hand to block their way.

”Alfred Garland, what do you mean by this?” Richardo Fisher, worried about his child, did not have a good tone.

Alfred Garland, however, with a stern face, did not regard him at all and said coldly, ”Amadeus said that no one can go in now.”

”I can’t go in either?” Richardo Fisher pointed to his own nose, infuriated to the extreme, and scoffed, ”I am Edric’s dad!”

Heh, could someone call himself a dad just because he sired but did not raise?

Without even lifting an eyelid, Alfred Garland’s arm remained blocking their path, ”This is Amadeus’s wish, as well as Mr. Yancey’s wish!”

”Before the young master is out of danger, no one is allowed in! Especially those with ill-intentions!”

He all but directly stated that the ”one with ill-intentions” was Ghania Quinlan!

Ghania’s complexion turned pale all of a sudden, and she lifted her head, biting her lip, filled with indignation and regret.

She had noticed that Mrs. Fisher was particularly cold towards her recently and, with her family’s company in trouble, she feared the Fisher family would look down on her. That’s why she thought of staying in the hospital; she had seen that child once, the one who was extremely important to the Fisher family.

She had intended to take a circuitous route, win over this child first, and then gradually secure her own position. Little did she know that the child would be so difficult; he was extremely uncooperative, and even at the stairway, he had recklessly let go of her hand.

As a result, the accident happened.

When the child tumbled down the stairs, she was indeed startled and tried to grab him without thinking of the danger, but unfortunately, she missed.

She felt a grievance too; Edric Yancey broke his left leg, and she was hurt while trying to grab the child’s hand—her knee was injured, and the doctor said there might be a scar left in the future!
