The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Amadeus Really is a Dog_1

Alfred Garland also stole a moment from his busyness to look up, with pasta still in his mouth, he hurriedly gave a thumbs up: ”Ms. Quinlan, it’s really delicious. I didn’t expect you to be such a good cook; you could even open your own pasta restaurant.”

He wasn’t exaggerating. This tomato and egg pasta was just too tasty!

The two of them went back and forth with their praise until Audrick Zachmann couldn’t take it anymore. He slammed the table, stood up, and reached out to the feisty girl with a mournful plea: ”Nathalie, what about mine?”

Amadeus Yancey didn’t react as he did, but his expression conveyed the same message.

What about his?

First, there wasn’t any for him.

Second, there wasn’t any for him.

Third, surely it was his turn now, right?

Nathalie Quinlan arched her eyebrows, her bright eyes sweeping over the two men. She slapped away Audrick’s hand, her tone cool and impatient: ”In the kitchen, get it yourself.”

Audrick: ...

Amadeus: ...

He laughed, annoyed. His strong jawline was sleek, his lips faintly red, a mixture of dignity and slothful charm.

Ever since that day he teased her.

Hah, to get a third helping, he still had to compete with that fool Audrick!

Nathalie Quinlan really did make good tomato and egg pasta; even men who were used to exotic delicacies were fully satisfied with such a simple dish.

After the meal was over.

Audrick slumped in his chair, rubbing his belly, and couldn’t help but muse: ”Nathalie, with your cooking skills, you could consider opening a pasta place right next to Amadeus’s Hot Pot Restaurant. With your talents... McKinney would have nothing on it.”

Nathalie Quinlan, who was in charge of cooking but not washing up, lifted her head indifferently: ”Forget it, I can’t do that.”

She was too lazy.

Plus, unless it was a special occasion, she didn’t like to cook.

Chopping and washing vegetables was too much trouble.

She’d rather eat instant noodles.

Today was an exception simply because the little one was present.

Amadeus Yancey took the initiative to wash the dishes. Stepping out of the kitchen, his tall figure was graceful, draped in a loose apron—somehow... there was a mix of restraint and a hint of sensuality!

”I’ve washed the dishes; they’re in the cabinet,” he said.

”Uh... okay.”

At first, Audrick didn’t understand why Amadeus took it upon himself to do the dishes—after all, he was a man of leisure, accustomed to ease. But then, seeing his shirt with three buttons undone, his collar slightly open, exuding the vibe of a good domestic man, he immediately got it and silently cursed himself for being careless. Amadeus was a real sly dog!

All the while, he was sneakily checking his sister’s reaction.

Amadeus Yancey, with his deep-set features and handsome eyes, looked toward the sofa where the big and the small were seated, his attention mostly on Nathalie Quinlan, his voice a bit hoarse: ”Do you want some watermelon? I’ll cut some for you.”

Nathalie Quinlan, who didn’t like fruit, looked instinctively at the little one beside her: ”Edric, do you want some?”

Edric Yancey glanced at his uncle, pulled a face, and shook his head: ”No.”

Amadeus Yancey looked at him with deep eyes and pursed lips, then suddenly turned to Audrick: ”Edric will be discharged from the hospital soon and my house isn’t ready yet. Do you have a spare room? Could he stay with you for the time being?”

Audrick: ...

It was one thing for Amadeus to stay, but now there’s a little one from the Yancey family as well?

Unfortunately, Edric Yancey overheard their conversation, and his bright, expectant eyes immediately turned towards him.

Audrick had a thousand reasons to refuse, which all turned into resigned acceptance: ”Sure, stay. There are plenty of rooms here anyway.”

With five bedrooms in the house, only he and Nathalie occupied two; they would be taking two more, and besides, Nathalie and the little guy got along too well!

Audrick often felt like he wasn’t living in his own home but more like a bystander boarding with a family of three.

Like right now, he saw the handsome man fetch two bottles of Yakult from the fridge to leave one beside his sister and little Lily on the sofa.

Audrick: ...

He inhaled deeply, again and again.
