The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: All in the Family_1

Nathalie Quinlan noticed the bank card being handed to her, her lips twitched slightly, she glanced in the direction of a certain individual and pushed the card back, speaking indifferently.

”No need. Edric just called me sister, these are things I should do.”

She genuinely liked the little guy, and it had nothing to do with money.

Amadeus Yancey walked over and took the bank card from the astonished Candice Yancey, elegant and composed, he spoke deeply, ”We’re all family.”

Alfred Garland: ”?”

Alfred Garland: ”??”

Alfred Garland: ”???”

How did he sense a different implication in Amadeus’s words?

Was it just his imagination?

Candice Yancey, however, hadn’t noticed the meaning of ’We’re all family.’ She focused instead on what Nathalie had said.

Her eyes widened slightly, surprised she said, ”You are Edric’s sister?”

Nathalie was full of question marks, what did she mean by ’that sister’?

Candice Yancey suddenly laughed, her demeanor changing from initially polite to one of genuine acceptance and fondness. Seeing that Nathalie didn’t catch her meaning, she said softly, ”Edric keeps talking about you lately, even phoned me a few days ago to tell me you took him shopping and bought him a lot of clothes. I’ve wanted to meet you for a while.”

Besides that, Mr. Yancey had shown her a photo of Amadeus and a girl with Edric, walking through a shopping mall.

The mall was crowded.

Yet, in the photo, Edric looked as happy as a little elf; she had never seen him smile so blissfully before.

The scene looked like a mom and dad taking their child out for fun.

As Edric’s grandma, she could provide for his material needs, but she couldn’t fill the void in his emotional life.

That’s why Edric had always been irritable in Beijing, lashing out at everyone.

It wasn’t until he came to McKinney that she truly sensed a change in Edric. He became less sharp, warmer, more cheerful, and happier.

She had saved Edric’s life before, and now she had cured his leg. The more Candice Yancey looked at Nathalie, the more she liked her, wishing she could claim her as her own goddaughter.

She kept holding Nathalie’s hand, looking her over and asking, ”Miss, how old are you this year? Are you still studying? Where do you study? Have you considered developing your future in Beijing? I have a few...”

She hadn’t finished speaking about excellent young men.

When Amadeus interrupted, ”Miss, shouldn’t you go see Edric?”

”Ms. Quinlan said Edric’s surgery was very successful, didn’t she?” Candice Yancey, dissatisfied with being interrupted, turned back to reprimand him, then looked at Nathalie with a smile beaming, ”By the way, what’s your name?”

She was so taken with this girl, who was both beautiful and capable!

Nathalie didn’t like being treated so warmly by an elder, but since it was Edric’s grandma, she restrained her discomfort and said, ”Nathalie Quinlan.”

Ah, such a pleasant voice!

”Nathalie? The Nathalie from the idiom ’always on one’s mind’?” Candice Yancey was extremely pleased and affectionately said, ”I’ll call you Nathalie from now on.”

Members of the Yancey Family were born into an extraordinary status, and as Mr. Yancey’s only daughter, Candice had been preeminent among young ladies of distinction from birth.

Alfred Garland was witnessing her affection for the first time.

But upon looking at Nathalie, he couldn’t deny that Ms. Quinlan was indeed likable.

Amadeus, knowing Nathalie’s personality, was afraid she might get scared if the conversation continued. He walked over, took the girl’s delicate wrist, and pulled her into his protective sphere, saying helplessly to Candice, ”Auntie, she’s tired now. Let her rest a bit. Go see Edric first, and I’ll take her to handle the discharge procedures.”
