The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Could it be Nathalie Quinlan_1

She hadn’t mentioned Pinecone Group, but once she did, Jeff Quinlan suddenly smashed the object in his hand onto the floor.

”You still mention Pinecone Group!”

The shards of glass that splattered up flew right across Ghania Quinlan’s arm, cutting a small gash that immediately began to bead with blood.

The pain made her cry out with an ’ah’.

In the past, if she so much as felt a backache, the family would be incredibly anxious.

But today, the atmosphere at home was especially heavy.

No one paid any attention to her.

For the first time in her life, Ghania Quinlan felt ignored as she clutched her arm, and out of nowhere, she thought of Nathalie Quinlan.

In the past, it had been the same with Nathalie, whether she was injured or had just finished donating blood and returned to her room without eating, no one cared.

It was like she suddenly understood that feeling of lonely disregard.

But she was more eager to understand what exactly had happened!

”Mom, what’s going on with Dad?” she asked, her eyes reddening and tears flashing, then she turned to look at Cindy Lawrence, ”Grandma, what happened to Dad?”

Cindy Lawrence had a typical square face, which looked quite good when she was young, but as she aged, the problem of protruding bones became very evident. Without collagen, even if she took good care of her skin, it appeared as though there was just a layer of skin stretched over her bones, making her cheekbones extremely prominent, which gave her a sharp and mean appearance.

She was infuriated, propping herself up with her walking stick, her voice sharp: ”What else could it be? That Pinecone Group is crazy, they just called your dad out of the blue and said they won’t cooperate anymore, and they’ll never work with us again.”

Ghania Quinlan’s eyes widened in disbelief, ”How can that be?”

She said urgently, ”But we’ve already signed a contract with them, they can’t breach it... ”

Without Pinecone Group’s support, the Quinlan Family would be like a tiger without teeth, who would still take them seriously?

Jeff Quinlan finally paid attention to her, lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot, his hands pulling at his hair: ”... Mr. Ingram said, they are willing to pay the penalty, but the cooperation is non-negotiable.”

He received the phone call and immediately drove to Pinecone Group, only to be stopped by security guards outside, not even making it through the doors.

He called Jethro Yapiter, but Jethro didn’t even pick up his phone.

Instead, he sent him a cold text message telling him to go back and think hard about how much trouble he’d caused, whom he had offended, to make them change their minds. They had initially intended to finish the last transaction before ending the cooperation, but now they were unwilling to complete even that last deal.

He was still completely at a loss.

Whom could they possibly have offended?

... The CEO of Pinecone Group, Silvania Ingram?

To be honest, aside from the issues of cutting corners on projects, he rarely had the chance even to meet them.

Where could he have offended them?

Ghania Quinlan felt like she had been struck by lightning, her mind buzzing. Without thinking, she demanded, ”Dad, you should apologize to them, we should try again, they’ve helped us so much in the past, they can’t just do this all of a sudden.”

If the Quinlan Family went bankrupt, what would she become?

She didn’t want to become an ordinary person.

”They say we’ve offended someone,” Jeff Quinlan said, clutching his head, his eyes red.

”Who did we offend?”

While Ghania Quinlan said this, her mind couldn’t help but conjure up the scene from earlier in the evening when she stopped Nathalie, and Nathalie’s cold words to her.

It seemed she had said they shouldn’t have been given the chance to strut in front of her.

At that time, her expression and gaze were filled with impatience towards her, as if she had reached the limit of her tolerance.

So, was it Nathalie?
