The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Only 11,100 for Seven Pieces of Clothes_1

Outside the store, Nathalie Quinlan leaned against the glass escalator playing with her phone. When she saw him come out, she put her phone away.

”Did you find everything okay?”

”Yeah.” Amadeus Yancey had just instructed the sales assistant not to sell anything in the store to Zayn Fisher and his group. Feeling very pleased with himself, he held the shopping bags and handed her back the bank card, ”The total was eleven thousand.”

Nathalie Quinlan was stunned for a second, hardly believing her ears as she took the bank card and blurted out, ”That cheap?”

Last time she bought him a uniquely-designed shirt from a designer that cost over eighty thousand. This time, shirts, sweaters, pants, and even a trench coat, seven or eight items in total, came to just eleven thousand. Even with discounts, this wasn’t how it was normally done. Were the prices broken?

She looked at the man in front of her with suspicion, ”We agreed that I would buy you clothes, and you wouldn’t snatch the bill from me. You didn’t secretly pay, did you?”

Amadeus Yancey handed her the receipt, ”Here’s the bill, have a look for yourself.”

Full of doubt, Nathalie Quinlan took the receipt and scanned through it rapidly. Each item was just over a thousand.

It did indeed add up to eleven thousand.

He stood there with ease, his chiseled jawline strong and smooth. One hand hung by his side, exuding an effortless elegance. He hadn’t even changed out of the first thin sweater Nathalie Quinlan picked out for him, ”Their family was having a promotion, buy one get one free.”

”I still think it’s too cheap...” Nathalie Quinlan held the receipt, scrutinizing it from every angle. It looked authentic, with no signs of fraud.

She even flipped it over to check the back—yep, it’s the real deal.

”Have you shopped there before? They told me that the piece you bought previously was a limited edition from their family, and after the purchase, they normally would give you any clothes from the store. Plus, with the season change coming up, they are clearing out their stock at special prices. That’s why it came to this much.”

Although Nathalie Quinlan still had her doubts deep down, since he put it that way, she didn’t think too much about it. Puckering her lips, she calculated the price of the necklace she gave him and looked up, ”Let’s go somewhere else then. I’ll buy you a watch.”

Alfred Garland followed, carrying bags.

Watching his boss, Amadeus, happily follow Ms. Quinlan’s lead to go shopping for more things, he silently gave him a mental thumbs-up.

Amadeus, you dog!

At that moment, Hendra Wafford drove to the Tucker Family residence in a hurry.

The Tucker Family home was brightly lit.

Mrs. Tucker, Enrico Tucker, Jason Tucker, and others were standing in the living room.

Rushing over, he went straight to Mrs. Tucker as soon as he entered.

”Ms. Tucker, what’s actually going on with Nathalie Quinlan? You told me she was just an ordinary girl. The Zachmann Family took her back and didn’t announce it publicly for so long nor brought her back to Beijing, which shows they don’t value the child. So why did three different groups come looking for me today?”

Adelia Tucker, who had been anxiously running around all day using all of her connections without finding out anything, was more anxious than him and said in a stern voice, ”Apart from Mr. Ingram and Mr. Yapiter, who else came?”

Hendra Wafford thought she was informed and spoke with caution, ”The Wilmar Family from Beijing.”

”The Wilmar Family didn’t come directly to me, but they reached out to people above me. I know Mr. Xena has good relations with the Wilmar Family, so he came forward to speak with me. This afternoon, he told me to stop getting involved with Jane Bailey’s matters and to come forward and apologize to Nathalie Quinlan, suggesting there might still be a chance to mend things.”

Adelia Tucker immediately sank into a chair, her brows knitted tightly and her face weary, ”Is it that serious?”

As someone directly involved, Hendra Wafford was even more annoyed; he had already developed blisters on his lips from frustration, ”Mr. Ingram didn’t even give me a chance to apologize; he just started an investigation against me! That’s why I hurried over to ask you, what’s the background of Nathalie Quinlan after all? Besides the Zachmann Family, does she know anyone else? Like, does she have friends with the last name Wilmar?”
