The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Will Not Let Go of Ghania Quinlan_1

If it weren’t for this, why would he have been driven into a corner and come to seek Nathalie Quinlan’s help again?

Jeff Quinlan felt very heavy-hearted and was about to continue persuading her.

But at this moment, Nathalie Quinlan’s phone suddenly rang.

She looked at the incoming call.

Alfred Garland.

Recalling the little guy telling her to go to the hospital earlier, her gaze became gentler. Without the interest to deal with the persistent man, she walked away to answer the phone.

”Hello. I’ll be right there.”

”It’s not that, Ms. Quinlan, the young master, the young master has had an accident!”

Nathalie, who had been casually circumventing Jeff Quinlan and hailing a cab at the side of the road, was startled for a second, doubting her own ears, ”How could Edric possibly have an accident if he’s fine in the hospital? Does he have a stomach ache?”

”No. It was Zayn Fisher, Mr. Zayn Fisher’s girlfriend who suddenly brought some fruit to visit the young master at the hospital, insisted on taking him out for a walk, and I was handling the discharge paperwork for him, so I wasn’t there. Who would have known that in just a moment’s time, the young master fell down the stairs and broke his left ankle.”

As Nathalie heard him, in his grown man’s voice, starting to break into a cry, she could guess the chaos at the other end. Her eyes flaring red, a surge of bloodlust rose within her. She sternly told him, ”Don’t panic, I’m getting a cab now. I’ll be there in twenty minutes!”

Alfred Garland remembered to call her during such chaos because he thought of the last time she had saved a life at the hospital with a high-pole surgical technique. Clinging to the hope of a last resort, he made the call in haste. Hearing Nathalie saying she would be right there, for some reason, his jittery heart settled down somewhat, and he said urgently, ”Amadeus is still in the ward checking on the young master. Ms. Quinlan, do you want me to send a car to pick you up?”

Nathalie’s expression was restrained, her jawline sharp as she crisply turned him down, ”It’ll take longer if I wait for your car. I’ll get there faster by hailing my own cab.”

She didn’t waste words, ”I’m coming right away, just look after Edric, and don’t let any other doctors mess with him.”

The orthopedics of McKinney were not as renowned as the neurosurgery department, and she didn’t trust those orthopedists.

Nathalie hung up the phone. Jeff Quinlan saw her looking upset and still had the audacity to come over with feigned concern, ”Nathalie, what’s happened?”

In the past, Nathalie might have simply ignored him, but this time, Jeff Quinlan saw blood seeping into her eyes as she coldly looked at him and said, ”You’d best pray that Edric is alright, or else I won’t let Ghania Quinlan off the hook!”

Jeff Quinlan’s face was a picture of bewilderment, ”What happened to Ghania?”

”Go ask her what she’s done!”

Nathalie stopped a taxi on the road, ignoring Jeff Quinlan, hurriedly bent down to get in the car, and told the driver, ”Sir, to City Hospital’s emergency department, please.”

”Please hurry.”

Seeing how urgently she needed to get there, her face flushed with haste, the taxi driver said a loud okay and floored the accelerator.

*

Family members of the Fisher Family were hurriedly arriving at the City Hospital.

Mrs. Fisher, Richardo Fisher rushing over in a hurry.

Zayn Fisher was trailing behind his mother and older brother with a dark expression on his handsome face.

Outside the ward.

Only Alfred Garland was waiting outside.

Amadeus Yancey and the doctors all were inside.

Ghania Quinlan in a white dress pinched at the waist, slinging a new Givenchy saddle bag, her egg-shaped face as white as paper, her watery eyes red from crying. As soon as she saw someone, she immediately got up, anxiously calling out, ”Lidya, Rafael.”

”You still have the face to call me!” Mrs. Fisher, upon seeing her, could not swallow her anger and glared at her as she pushed her away, ”Ha, I don’t have the ability to be your aunt. You’re something else, aren’t you, to be able to lay hands on a five-year-old child. Do you realize Edric is the Fisher Family’s only heir? If anything were to happen to him, let me tell you, you better not associate with our family or Zayn Fisher ever again!”
