Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 186: Chapter 91 Accidents Come Faster Than Tomorrow

Chen Ming handled the Armor-Piercing Level issue in less than a minute.

The ship will reach the Pirate Space Station after several hours of navigation.

As Chen Ming shifted his focus back from the Armor-Piercing issue to the present situation.

The director was still using a system on his Power Armor to communicate with the company’s upper management.

Sending the evidence of military smuggling provided by Chen Ming and the actual cargo list he just checked.

After waiting for about two minutes.

The director finally ended his communication with the board and said to Chen Ming, ”The military’s internal efficiency is very high; the report document will soon be sent to the Star Realm Government and then transferred to the military.”

”After that, the upper military district will start investigating the lower ranks; this process doesn’t take too long.”

”Only when someone goes down at the outpost, can someone else come up.”

”Even if they don’t want to go down, someone will help them go down.”

”During this period, it’s the best time for us to send you to the Star Realm Capital without military interference.”

”Meanwhile, the company can also take advantage of the military personnel transition, to prepare other aspects, and once you’re in place, we can start reclaiming control over the Star System.”

The director’s last sentence sounded like it was a message from the board to be conveyed to Chen Ming.

Chen Ming naturally had no objections to this, nodded at the director without speaking.

The director quickly left the lounge, as he probably had internal work for the Administration Building to deal with.

Left in the lounge with Chen Ming were just three guards, a member of the Patrol Team arranged by the factory manager, and the manager himself, along with Old Wu.

Although they didn’t seem too exhausted, they chose to rest with their eyes closed while leaning on the sofa.

After all, until Chen Ming was safely on the ship, there might still be some trouble awaiting them.

The factory manager, being Chen Ming’s current direct superior and the person who brought Chen Ming back to the company, had to stay constantly by Chen Ming’s side.

Old Wu, although he seemed ready to flee, was actually just a regular maintenance worker but still remained here.

It could be due to the factory manager or Chen Ming, or perhaps both.

No matter the reason, Chen Ming was glad to see them both staying here.

Chen Ming didn’t disturb them much, and likewise, leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.

However, he wasn’t resting; he was in contact with the two Gamma AIs, making preparations for the worst-case scenario.

Meanwhile, he was also keeping an eye on the Armor-Piercing Level to ensure its safe journey to the vicinity of the Pirate Space Station.

Eleven hours later.

It was three a.m. Earth Time.

The director, still wearing his heavy Power Armor, suddenly opened the lounge door, knocked lightly on it, and said, ”The spaceship has arrived; it’s parked at the Patrol Team dock. We need to get going.”

Although the military personnel had mostly been dealt with at that time, the Administration Building’s guard against military infiltration hadn’t relaxed.

So Chen Ming was guided by the director to the rooftop of the Administration Building.

As before, they went directly through the shuttle boat at the fastest speed to reach the place Chen Ming was supposed to be.

The shuttle boat itself wasn’t large; filling it had almost crammed in Chen Ming, three people, plus a director in heavy Power Armor.

They arrived at the Patrol Team dock.

This place had changed somewhat from when Chen Ming had come to send off the Pirate Leader.

The broken space arms had been fully reconnected, and the closer to the Space Station side, the more complete the space arm functions became.

Given a few more weeks, the space arms should be thoroughly repaired.

In the place where those repaired docks were, besides some combat ships Chen Ming had seen during battles with Dusk Ships.

There was also a small fleet of ships with unified Sinda Corporation markings on their exterior.

A total of twenty-eight ships.

Nine Destroyers and nineteen guards.

Among these nine Destroyers, eight were Hammerhead Level, highly acclaimed in the Destroyer category.

They offer moderate firepower, armor strength, and Spaceship Shield performance, and a price highly suitable compared to other Destroyers.

Considered the king of cost-effectiveness among Sinda Corporation’s designed ships.

Though its cost-effectiveness is high, it doesn’t mean the ship’s capabilities are poor.

A ship with just cost-effectiveness and no capabilities wouldn’t be welcomed by the private sector, government, or military for Hammerhead Level ships.

The remaining Destroyer served as the fleet’s flagship, a Destroyer Level aircraft carrier, Cow Herder.

Cow Herder Level boasts an absurdly long length of four hundred forty-three meters among Destroyers, with an almost identical width, and a height gained from multi-layer flight decks capable of housing numerous fighters.

It almost functions as a mobile war fortress.

Apart from those fighters equipped with point-defense weapons and small shields, Cow Herder also mounts a lot of medium and small point-defense weapons due to its massive hull.

Using external attack methods, it offers extremely strong defense capabilities in actual combat.

Chen Ming once saw online that those who’ve operated civilian-grade Cow Herder claimed that operating such a ship was quite boring, but the sense of security it provided couldn’t be acquired from other vessels.
