Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 173: Chapter 87: Military Action, Chen Ming’s Response_4

Just at that moment, Chen Ming’s terminal rang.

It was Bald calling.

But Chen Ming and Bald usually only exchanged greetings during work, so what required a phone call?

Chen Ming, a bit puzzled, pressed answer: ”Hello.”

”Brother Mu, I have something to tell you, no one else is beside you, right?”

”No, go ahead.”

Bald immediately relayed everything he had seen before to Chen Ming.

After listening to Bald’s account, Chen Ming’s expression turned as serious as the manager’s.

If what Bald said is true, then he might have identified the source of the danger he sensed earlier.

Chen Ming took a deep breath to ease his anxiety upon learning the military was already tracking him.

”Thanks, I’ll treat you to a meal when there’s time.”

Chen Ming hung up the phone.

The boss was already back at the counter when Bald was talking, and after listening to everything Bald said, he asked Chen Ming with some interest, ”Did your secret get out?”

”Pretty much, I need to figure out how to handle it.”

”What’s your plan?”

”Go to the management, the company should protect me.”

The boss didn’t comment much on Chen Ming’s plan, only asked, ”Have you considered staying here?”

Chen Ming nodded and said, ”I have, I think this is probably the safest place in the Space Station.”

”Then why go over to Lao Liu’s?”

”Well... how to put it, I feel more secure at the manager’s side, after all, the manager needs me, and the company needs me.”

”But if it’s on your side... I always feel like it would trouble you too much.”

The boss seemed a bit surprised and said, ”Actually, just the list you gave me can help solve this issue.”

”Oh, there’s such a thing.”

”Yeah, you should know its value when you handed it to me, right?”

”Yeah, I know, but I feel this kind of issue is a bit much, you probably wouldn’t help me resolve it.”

The boss seemed quite satisfied with Chen Ming’s self-awareness and sense of propriety, and said, ”Indeed, there are some matters I won’t be a babysitter for, but I would help with some ordinary things without charge.”

”So is being hunted by the military considered ordinary?”

”No, but as I said, what you gave me is enough for me to help with this issue.”

”So, why not consider swapping this list for my help directly?”

Chen Ming shook his head and said, ”Still, no.”

He hadn’t been idle all this time.

Chen Ming, reflecting on the preparations he’s been making all along, said, ”Regarding this matter, I think I can solve it.”

”Not bad, then I’ll look forward to your good news, just don’t die out there.”

”Hmm.”

Chen Ming turned to leave the hardware store.

But just as he was stepping out the door of the hardware store, he suddenly stopped.

The boss behind him asked, confused, ”What’s the matter?”

Chen Ming retracted his foot, saying, ”If I just go directly, something’s bound to happen.”

”I don’t think I can make it to the management side.”

Chen Ming picked up his terminal and contacted the manager directly.

”Manager, the military started looking for me on the Space Station a couple of days ago, they probably have a good idea of my whereabouts, I can’t make it to the management.”

The manager got anxious all of a sudden and hurriedly asked, ”Where are you now?”

”At the boss’s place.”

”Don’t hang up, I’ll arrange for someone to come get you immediately.”

”Okay.”

While waiting for the people from the boss’s side to arrive.

Chen Ming contacted the owner of the store Old Wu introduced him to earlier, ordering a batch of materials for urgent delivery to the maintenance plant office at the management, it might come in handy later.

After waiting for about six or seven minutes.

A Shuttle Boat, which only the management could use on the Space Station, landed at the hardware store’s entrance.
