Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 176: Chapter 88: Pursuit, Escape, Promise_3

If there really are missing materials, at worst he would just use the materials from the tools he carries with him.

If that doesn’t work, other parts of the ship could also be used to rob Peter to pay Paul.

The signal light of the shuttle boat suddenly lit up again.

But then it plunged into darkness once more.

The pilot couldn’t help but curse, ”Damn it...”

”Stop talking and accelerate.”

Chen Ming didn’t hesitate at all and repaired the shuttle boat again.

This method of robbing Peter to pay Paul will inevitably cause some damage to the shuttle boat’s equipment.

And the shuttle’s performance would also be somewhat degraded, but at least, it was enough to hold on until they reached the Administration.

The restored shuttle boat was already approaching the central area of the Space Station, where some high-rise buildings appeared.

Under the pilot’s operation, the shuttle boat nimbly maneuvered between the skyscrapers, evading the electromagnetic pulse that kept attacking the spaceship, breaking through the coverage of the signal jammer.

It vanished from the military squad’s sight.

Xia Chao watched the shuttle boat disappear behind a tall building and turned to his teammate to ask, ”Are electromagnetic pulse protective devices usually equipped on such shuttle boats?”

The hacker team member said, ”As far as I know, no.”

”But they have them.”

The squad’s atmosphere gradually became somber.

And at this moment, the captain said like summarizing, ”Chen Ming’s reaction is too fast.”

”From when he sensed he was being watched on the spaceship, to coming to this place where we dare not enter at all, and then immediately having a shuttle from the Administration come to pick him up.”

”The only time we could act on him was on that stretch of road when he had just gotten off the shuttle at Space Arm No. 2.”

”But our preparations were not enough at the time, and the odds of success in taking direct action were very low.”

The team member responsible for monitoring the dock and watching Chen Ming previously showed a pained expression, saying, ”Did just one accidental glance discover something was wrong? This is all my fault.”

”There’s no time for self-blame, the mission must continue.”

”But he’s already inside the Administration, and they even specially arranged a shuttle for him that only their insiders can use, Sinda Corporation’s attitude should be clear, can we really take him away?”

The captain punched the nearby wall and said resolutely, ”The mission is not completely failed yet.”

”Sinda Corporation can’t keep Chen Ming here forever, they surely need to take him away.”

”Before Chen Ming is taken away by Sinda Corporation’s people, we still have a chance.”

”Let’s get out of here first, I need to report the situation to the station manager.”

The squad members got up, preparing to leave.

But at this moment, the hacker team member suddenly said, ”Wait a minute, Captain, we seem to have trouble.”

”Just now, the person on the shuttle probably noticed where I made the shuttle land when they kicked me out of the control permissions.”

”Those tracer rounds earlier were used to locate the guard units, several guard units are already surrounding us.”

”What about the original escape route?”

”No problem, our surveillance setup didn’t detect any signs of guard units.”

”Then go with the previous plan.”

”Yes.”

The military squad quickly left the uninhabited residence they were in, relying on the pre-planned escape route, bypassing the guard units’ surveillance.

They entered the underground sewage system of the Space Station city.

Using the signal jammer devices they had left behind, they caused all the equipment in the surrounding area of the residence they stayed at to malfunction.

They successfully shook off the guard units and changed their disguises, reappearing over at the pre-arranged hotel.

After knocking Tian Jiwen, who had woken up, out again, the captain contacted their superior, the station manager at the Military Outpost.

”Station manager, Chen Ming’s identity and location have been confirmed; the first capture attempt failed.”

”He got help from Sinda Corporation and entered the Space Station Administration Building; it’s hard for us to get in.”

”We have not been discovered in specific identity and are preparing for the second capture action.”

After a brief silence, the other end of the terminal said, ”I don’t care what you’ve done or how you’ll do it.”

”The outcome I want is very clear, either bring him back, or take him out, if the former can’t be achieved, then proceed with the latter.”

”Also, the informant you asked me for earlier, I can provide for you; even if it means losing him, the mission must be completed.”

”Yes.”

The captain put down the terminal and said to the team members, ”Did you hear that? If we can’t complete the mission, this informant’s fate will be ours.”

Meanwhile, as the military squad communicated with the higher-ups.

The shuttle boat Chen Ming was on had landed on the rooftop of the building.

He was quickly escorted by two guards to the underground maintenance workshop of the Administration Building.

Here, it was definitely one of the safest places in the entire Space Station.

And when Chen Ming reached the underground of the Administration Building, the factory manager was already waiting at the entrance with several guards.

The anxious expression on his face eased somewhat after he saw Chen Ming with his own eyes.

”Ah, Xiaomu, you’re here, uh, why are you dressed like this... never mind, it’s fine, dressing like this is actually good.”

”Let’s go into the studio first and talk to the person I contacted before.”

”Specifically who is it?”

The manager whispered into Chen Ming’s ear, ”Member of the board of directors, chairman, Xu Lin, he was sent by the company, immediately asked me to contact you after knowing your situation.”
