Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 168: Chapter 86: Armor Piercing and Kidnapping_3

”Who’s going to fly this spaceship back?”

”Me.”

”Not bad, haven’t lost your touch?”

”It’s just a destroyer, and I’ve never lost my touch.”

Chen Ming’s expression was slightly tense at this moment.

Not only because Deputy Director Lin mentioned that the spaceship’s experimental Star Zone happens to be the Star Zone where the Pirate Space Station is located.

But also because Chen Ming had no idea that this spaceship was pre-designated for the government, to bait Luder Zuo Jing’s fishing operation.

It was ultimately assigned for Deputy Director Lin to pilot, and it’s about to be tested.

Chen Ming couldn’t help but feel a bit of a headache over this.

According to this process, once the ship’s weapons are installed, it will likely be directly activated to go to the Star Zone where the Pirate Space Station is situated to conduct tests with Dusk.

Chen Ming had no objections to the government looking for trouble with Dusk.

However, after the Armor-Piercing Level’s tests conclude, it will likely be formally put into service.

This makes taking the spaceship away significantly more challenging.

Under such circumstances, Chen Ming would need to devote more effort to this, constantly monitoring the Armor-Piercing Level for the right opportunity to take the ship away.

After chatting with the engineer and finishing his cigarette, Deputy Director Lin immediately left.

He seemed still very busy, merely taking some time to check on the spaceship’s status.

Once he was gone, there wasn’t much more for Chen Ming to observe, so he instructed the Armor-Piercing Level to start recording, capturing everything happening in the maintenance workshop.

The Sinda Corporation engineer was directing the spaceship’s maintenance work, and the subsequent installation work of large weapons was very valuable for Chen Ming.

He could thoroughly learn from this.

Moreover, Chen Ming had the ability to ensure that no record would be left on the Armor-Piercing Level’s computer, making this task fearless.

Once things were set with the Armor-Piercing Level, Chen Ming had something else that needed confirmation.

That was the terminal found on the corpse of Zuo Jing’s member, Shen Yi.

Cracking the terminal did not take much of Chen Ming’s time.

However, the content inside made Chen Ming scrutinize it for a long time.

There was a list in his terminal.

A list recording a large amount of Zuo Jing personnel information.

It detailed identity information and the locations of Zuo Jing members.

It seemed Shen Yi had always been collecting information on Zuo Jing, including the informants he collaborated with, all recorded on it.

As Chen Ming browsed through it, he found signs of Zuo Jing activity in nearly a hundred colonies or space stations centered around the Star Realm Capital and spreading out.

Even at the Pirate Space Station where Chen Ming was at, there were several Zuo Jing people whose identities Shen Yi had uncovered, and even at the military outpost closest to the Pirate Space Station, there were two Zuo Jing members present.

Unfortunately, for Chen Ming, the valuable bits on this list were only those concerning the space station and military outpost’s Zuo Jing personnel information.

The other personnel lists were of no use to Chen Ming.

But this list was very different for the government.

They likely needed this very urgently.

Chen Ming deleted the list of personnel from the military outpost closest to the Pirate Space Station.

Planning to send this modified list to the boss later.

Chen Ming had no intention of contacting the government.

Because he was just an unknown figure to the government at this point.

Handing over this list wouldn’t bring any benefit, and he might even get caught up in it himself.

But if the boss, who had some connection with the government, handled it, Chen Ming wouldn’t have to worry about these issues.

The boss would surely maximize the benefits of this list.

After determining the destination of Shen Yi’s list.

Chen Ming also had something else that could be considered a gain this time.

It was the powerful explosive, capable of destroying White Cloud Steel Armor, which he dismantled using a panel.

The material ratios inside became entirely clear to Chen Ming when he dismantled the explosive bundle.

They were mostly common materials, with only one or two being slightly rare, which he could buy equipment to personally test and research back at the Space Station.

If he didn’t attempt to use such an effective explosives, it would surely be a waste of Chen Ming’s risk-taking dismantling operation just now.

If he could research a result, perhaps the explosives he developed could be used in transforming self-destruct ships.

By storing everything from Shen Yi’s terminal and the explosive’s material proportions on Iron Ore No.’s computer,

Chen Ming knew he had nearly completed everything here.

Initially, his outing was merely meant to collect a bounty, but he encountered such events unexpectedly.

Fortunately, the situation was smoothly resolved, and he probably wouldn’t run into trouble after getting back.

Chen Ming pondered silently in his heart.

Even if the attitude of the company’s upper management was unclear, at least over at the Space Station, the management bureau wouldn’t cause him trouble, and the director would definitely try his best to protect him.

And as for the boss, Chen Ming believed it would be the same.

He should also provide Chen Ming with some protection.

However, Chen Ming couldn’t take this for granted.

Chen Ming and the director were friends, and they were bound by a shared interest.

So Chen Ming could entrust his safety to the director to some extent, even if it required the director to make some sacrifices.

But for the boss, Chen Ming only held the identity of a Psychic.

The boss, because Chen Ming is a Psychic, proactively befriended him, but this particular friendliness surely had its limits, and going beyond those would not be good.
