Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 183: Chapter 90: The Way of Counterattack, the Whereabouts of Armor Piercing_2

Quickly, the alarms of the Administration Bureau ceased, all previously paralyzed internal equipment began to reboot, and the smoke that couldn’t be expelled was gradually dissipating.

With so many people around to protect him, Chen Ming relaxed slightly and was no longer overly vigilant.

While the guards were still dealing with the unconscious people and the pile of corpses here, Chen Ming asked the factory director, who was also taking a break, ”The military attacked the Administration Bureau like this, what consequences will there be afterwards?”

The director, as if he had already prepared for this, replied, ”Although we all know that the military did it, they certainly won’t admit it, nor will they leave any obvious evidence.”

”Even if attacking our Pirate Space Station Administration Bureau directly isn’t a nominal problem for them, in practice, it’s not just about nominal issues.”

”So, the military’s credibility will surely take a hit after this incident.”

”The specific consequences will depend on the confrontation between the higher-ups.”

”But that doesn’t concern us. Our primary task now is to safely get you to the Star Realm Capital.”

”However, one thing is certain: the military will suffer a great loss from this incident, how great depends on the reactions from above, and you.”

Around the time the Director of the Administration Bureau arrived with the guards at the second underground level.

Inside the hotel room where the military squad was staying, which was quite close to the Administration Building.

Several members of the military squad silently watched the content being relayed in real time on the hacker team member’s computer screen.

As the surveillance footage showing everyone collapsing in an instant was beamed back, the atmosphere in the room plummeted to freezing point.

Only the captain spoke up first at this time, saying, ”That’s a Mind Pulse, I didn’t expect the Administration to even be willing to give something like this to Chen Ming.”

”Sigh... the mission is a complete failure. The Administration is prepared, and we can’t find another opportunity on the Space Station.”

Xia Chao couldn’t help asking, ”So what do we do? Actually go and dig coal?”

”If we can really just go dig coal, that would be a blessing. Let’s go first, and see if there’s another opportunity later.”

The other members of the military squad didn’t voice any opinions, merely gathered their belongings quietly.

However, just then, there was a knock on the hotel room door.

”Hello, your ordered dinner has arrived.”

The captain froze for a moment, then immediately pointed his gun at Tian Jiwen, who had been tied up for some time, and shot him in the head.

Then he immediately aimed the gun at the door.

Before he could fire a second shot, a barrage of bullets was fired into the room from outside the hotel room door.

A battle broke out at the hotel again shortly after the Administration’s chaos subsided.

But this had nothing to do with Chen Ming, who had just walked into the director’s office.

After following the director into his office, the director continued to lead Chen Ming and his entourage into a secluded break room adjacent to the office.

At the same time, he arranged for three new guards to protect Chen Ming closely.

The previously injured patrol team member was sent to the medical room inside the Administration Building.

The medical facilities of the Administration Bureau are somewhat better than outside hospitals, coupled with space-age medical technology, treating his burns was no problem.

After settling Chen Ming down, the director said to him, ”Please wait here for now, the rescue spacecraft will arrive in eleven hours, and I’ll ensure you are escorted safely when it comes.”

Saying this, the director summoned his secretary and said, ”If you need anything, you can ask him to arrange it for you. I have other matters to attend to.”

An incident of this magnitude happening internally requires a thorough investigation top to bottom.

As the director, he naturally needed to be on the frontline of work.

So Chen Ming had no objection to the director leaving.

Though, Chen Ming still felt a slight unease in his heart.

Even though the director said he would protect him, and those heavy power armors indeed provided a strong sense of security.

Chen Ming felt that the military wouldn’t just let things slide due to this incident, so he still needed to make some preparations in advance.

Moreover, there was something now that was quite suitable to hand over.

”Wait a moment.”

Hearing Chen Ming’s voice, the director turned back and asked, ”What is it?”

Chen Ming took out a terminal and pulled up a file on it.

This was evidence of the military outpost smuggling stimulants, found in the terminal of a soldier who perished in an escape pod stuck on the spacecraft.

Earlier on the way here, Chen Ming had already intended to hand this over to the factory director.

For the factory director to pass it to the chairman.

However, the director said he couldn’t reach the chairman,

because the Board Meeting was about to convene, and the chairman had to attend and preside over it.

This Board Meeting primarily revolved around two issues, one concerning Chen Ming, and another concerning the military.

In some sense, both were related to Chen Ming.

So, unable to reach the chairman, the factory director asked Chen Ming to speak to the director about it.

The director’s superiors were not the same board members as those of the factory director.

Although Chen Ming didn’t understand why, in any case, as long as this evidence was handed over, it would definitely cause some trouble for the military.

With this evidence, anyone could legally challenge the military.

And those with connections could even directly use the military’s internal reporting channels to cause trouble for the soldiers involved in smuggling.
