Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 175: Chapter 88: Pursuit, Escape, Promise_2

Even though he had previously worn a comparably thick heavy spacesuit, he could still interact with and control the shuttle boat. Could it be a material issue?

Chen Ming couldn’t figure it out and seemed to decide he could only pay more attention to these things in the future.

But at least he could control the shuttle boat, which made things much easier.

Chen Ming once again put the gauntlet back on his hand.

He focused his mind on the shuttle boat panel that had just appeared in front of him.

Within a few seconds, the emergency lights inside the shuttle boat were turned off, and all the shuttle boat’s equipment returned to normal.

The foreign control signals were completely blocked by Chen Ming, and the shuttle boat was once again under the pilot’s control.

”Huh? What’s going on?”

”I don’t know, the shuttle boat suddenly returned to normal. I’m readjusting the course.”

Old Wu instinctively glanced at Chen Ming but didn’t say anything more.

However, Chen Ming opened the map of the Space Station on the terminal and said to Old Wu beside him, ”We need to have the guard troops seal off that area.”

He reached out his finger, pointing to a location on the edge of the city on the Space Station map and said, ”That’s where the shuttle boat was about to land, so their people must be nearby.”

”Huh? Oh, I’ll... wait, the communication signal is still cut off.”

”I know.”

”It seems they didn’t rely on hacking into the system to cut off communication; it’s probably a high-intensity signal jammer.”

”Unless we directly take them out, we’ll have to head into the city and get beyond their jammer’s range to restart the communication equipment.”

”So I was thinking...”

Chen Ming glanced sideways at the patrol team member equipped with the Electromagnetic Weapon and asked, ”Do you have tracer rounds?”

The teammate immediately replied to Chen Ming’s question, ”Yes, the Electromagnetic Bullet was designed with tracer rounds for easy aiming, visible even during the day.”

Chen Ming showed him the terminal screen and said, ”See this position? Fire a burst in that direction.”

”Get the guard troops’ attention, and then it’s up to their leader to be perceptive enough.”

Meanwhile, in the eyes of the military team members,

the shuttle boat suddenly jolted intensely, then quickly returned to its normal trajectory.

And they saw the hatch suddenly open, and someone stuck a gun barrel out, firing dozens of shots in their general direction.

Several conspicuous tracer rounds flew over their heads instantly, landing somewhere unknown.

The captain suddenly had a vague sense of unease in his heart.

And the hacker team member beside him also suddenly spoke in a somewhat panicked tone, ”Something seems to have gone wrong on my side. I suddenly can’t control that shuttle boat anymore.”

”What’s going on?”

”I don’t know. I’m still trying. Just in that instant, all my control permissions were suddenly wiped clean. There’s someone on the boat more skilled than me.”

The hacker frantically pounded at the computer, but all his attempts were in vain.

”No use. I can’t break in at all. Just a moment ago, the shuttle boat’s equipment was basically unguarded. But in the blink of an eye, the entire system was utterly locked down. I can’t find any vulnerabilities.”

The hacker’s hands gradually slowed down, and his expression became progressively rigid.

”Is there no other way?”

The hacker shook his head and said, ”No way. This shuttle boat is now like a solid steel plate with no gaps. I don’t know how he’s doing it.”

The captain did not blame him at this moment but comforted him with a few words, saying, ”If we can’t hack our way in directly, then let’s try another method. Xia Chao.”

”On it.”

Xia Chao stood at the window, holding up a rectangular device that looked like a cannon.

This thing was a military-grade BZ-19 directional electromagnetic pulse generator, with its capabilities clearly indicated by its name.

Xia Chao lifted the electromagnetic pulse generator, locked onto the shuttle boat, and pressed the fire button immediately.

The generator’s activation had no visible fluctuations to the naked eye.

But inside the shuttle boat, it plunged into darkness in an instant.

The various buttons and signal lights that had been flickering in the cockpit went completely out, and even the emergency lights failed to turn on.

Old Wu rushed to the cockpit doorway and said, ”What’s wrong this time?”

Before the pilot could speak, Chen Ming directly said, ”It’s an electromagnetic pulse. The shuttle boat’s electronic components and circuits were melted.”

A thin layer of sweat appeared on the pilot’s forehead, and he immediately said, ”With the shuttle boat shut down, we’ll have to crash land, otherwise...”

The pilot’s words halted midway as he was stunned, because all the shuttle boat’s systems were slowly recovering, as if the electromagnetic pulse had never even occurred.

And Chen Ming’s voice followed, ”Keep going, don’t worry about anything else.”

The pilot glanced at the monitor, looking at Chen Ming sitting in the corner of the shuttle boat, and couldn’t help swallowing a mouthful of saliva.

Without daring to hesitate, he restarted the shuttle boat’s engine in the air and continued flying towards the city interior.

But just seconds after taking off, the shuttle boat once again was plunged into darkness inside.

In response, Chen Ming continued to select the Maintenance function on the panel for the shuttle boat.

He completely repaired the damage caused by the electromagnetic pulse.

The damage caused by the electromagnetic pulse to the shuttle boat’s equipment was primarily melting, without much loss of material itself.

In other words, Chen Ming could dismantle some of the damaged parts, then recover and reuse them.

Just a bit of wear and tear was enough to keep the shuttle boat going indefinitely.
