Chapter 309: Slaying the Young Onmyoji

Seeing faint changes beginning to appear on Lin Zifeng’s body, the pallid features of the youth displayed a look of a scheme accomplished. Ignoring the pain in his body, he dragged his wounded frame towards a small boat by the riverside.

The longer the delay, the more severe the damage to Lin Zifeng’s body would become if the youth did not die immediately, worsening until his wounds expanded and cracked fatally.

Finally, he had unleashed the fury that had been suppressed in his heart for several years.

Watching the skin on his body slowly showing signs of cracking, Lin Zifeng’s eyes gleamed with intensity, his gaze already locked onto his adversary.

With twisting steps, Lin Zifeng’s momentum climbed higher and higher. He had underestimated the youth from the start, leading to the current situation.

However, clearly the youth had touched Lin Zifeng’s raw nerve. With such a Transfer Wound Technique, if the caster did not die, then Lin Zifeng would not survive. It was forcing Lin Zifeng to kill him.

Lin Zifeng’s face was stern as he twisted on his feet, quickly catching up to the youth. Just as he was about to extend his claw to seize the youth from the riverside, who knew, the youth, who had been gathering strength for a long time, suddenly lunged at Lin Zifeng from the surface of the river, instantly appearing in front of Lin Zifeng. His fist turned into a claw, swiping rapidly, the claw shadows howling, sharp as knives, and extremely ferocious!

Each claw was aimed to tear at the soft parts of Lin Zifeng’s throat and ribs.

Lin Zifeng’s eyes sparkled with cunning, his reaction exceeding the youth’s imagination.

Seeing Lin Zifeng’s rapid response, the youth seemed like a different person, with fierce and powerful punches, ferocious as a tiger, roaring away like raging waves.

Lin Zifeng was also shocked; he hadn’t expected this young Onmyoji, who seemed so frail in appearance and even crippled his own ankle, to be able to unleash such combat power in this condition, truly an aberrant existence!

It seemed the youth had used some kind of drug or Illusion Technique, as his bodily changes did not affect his fighting ability in the slightest within such a short period.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fist and claw shadows collided like arrows, while toes and legs struck each other viciously like iron rods, producing metallic clangs with each impact that were surprisingly like the sounds of metal.

Lin Zifeng’s rapidly advancing figure was forcefully stopped, but the youth’s face showed horror.

Strength! Such terrifying strength!

He had not expected Huaxia to still have such top-tier experts!

The youth’s face began to show concern; despite the effectiveness of his Transfer Wound Technique, the opponent’s power was simply too ferocious to match, stopping every attack regardless of how he changed his techniques. If it weren’t for his casting of the Transfer Wound Technique, he feared the person in front of him could have wiped him out in mere moments.

The kidnapping mission had failed, and he didn’t know how to explain it to the authorities. Looking at Lin Zifeng, whose aura was overwhelming, the youth began to harbor a certain thought.

The youth now only had the option to drag out time, for the longer it lasted, the more Lin Zifeng’s wounds would multiply until he would die without a fight.

However!

Lin Zifeng would not give him any chance to delay time, as an intense, tide-like power suddenly imposed an endless pressure on the youth.

The teenager groaned, the terrifying power sending him flying out.

However, Lin Zifeng’s strength, wilder than before, surged to new heights. The teenager’s defeated body hadn’t even touched the ground when Lin Zifeng, swooping down, grabbed his throat, bending his index finger, and thrusting upwards, gruesomely mashing the teenager’s chin into a bloody pulp!

The teenager’s entire mouth was dripping with blood, and it seemed that Lin Zifeng had no intention of letting him go. After crushing the teenager’s jaw, Lin Zifeng suddenly exerted force throughout his body, his palm that was gripping the teenager’s neck abruptly let go, and then, under the fierce gaze of the teenager, Lin Zifeng flipped his hand over, and with great force like a tidal wave, he slapped the teenager’s throat, pushing the Adam’s apple deep into the throat, piercing through even the bone fragments within!

After the teenager collapsed to the ground, he only managed to press down his head in unwillingness, rolling his eyes, and not long after, he lost his breath.

Feeling the wounds on his body gradually cease to react, Lin Zifeng lit up another cigarette and quietly sat next to the teenager’s corpse.

He was pondering what the teenager’s background could be, why he had kidnapped Nangong Bing. Could Nangong Bing have some dispute with Fusang’s business ventures? Or perhaps some other conflict...

That night, Lin Zifeng did not return. He stayed by the riverside, quiet as if waiting for something. Yet, until dawn, it seemed he did not encounter the outcome he was hoping for, and eventually, he left in disappointment.

Out of the blue, an Onmyoji wouldn’t have any reason to trouble Nangong Bing, so there must have been some sort of conflict.

...

On the other hand, Nangong Bing was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan at this moment; her home had been invaded by a group of persistent police investigators, each seeming to have an infinite number of questions, incessantly asking what exactly had happened last night, nearly driving Nangong Bing to the brink of insanity.

Nangong Bing had reported to the police early in the morning because of everything that had occurred last night, which had scared her greatly. When she came to, she found only the handsome stranger by her side; Lin Zifeng had not returned all night!

This made Nangong Bing increasingly worried. Since waking up, she hadn’t closed her eyes. Calling Lin Zifeng’s phone went unanswered and inquiries to her friends, including Huahua and others, yielded no news.

It was supposed to be just a meal out, yet so much had happened, leaving Nangong Bing utterly agitated.

Reporting to the police had been arduous, and the investigators had arrived, but their response was brief: a missing person’s case could only be filed after forty-eight hours.

Watching the police filling the room, Nangong Bing felt even more troubled, her heart torn between worry and nervousness, a feeling indescribable.

”Miss Nangong, did you see the face of the person who kidnapped you last night? Can you describe the scene at that time?”

Heaven played a cruel joke on Lin Zifeng. After Nangong Bing reported to the police early in the morning, Su Ni was among the investigators that arrived. When the fiery lady heard that Lin Zifeng was the one missing, her heart was a mix of elation and disappointment.

What shocked Su Ni most was that this guy had actually been living together with Zhonghai City’s business Queen Nangong Bing!

Su Ni had seen Nangong Bing before, when Lin Zifeng had been mistakenly taken to the police station, and it was Nangong Bing herself who had come to take him back.

But she had never imagined that the two of them would live together. What sort of rhythm was this?

”I don’t know. I was knocked out last night, and all I know is that my assistant is now missing. Shouldn’t your police force be finding this person for me first, rather than asking these useless questions?”

Nangong Bing’s arms were crossed over her chest, and her cold, beautiful face could not help showing some anger.

”Miss Nangong, before the truth of the matter comes to light, you must cooperate with us police. After all, this is a premeditated kidnapping case. Even if you disregard your personal safety, as a lawful citizen, you must provide any evidence needed by the police, including everything you know right now!” Su Ni had always been proudly independent. Though her temper was a bit explosive, her IQ was not to be underestimated. However, when a woman’s beauty overshadows everything else, most people tend to judge them by their appearance.
