Chapter 248: Chapter 251 My Damned Big Mouth

Chapter 251 My Damned Loose Mouth

Seeing that Mu Yang was about to leave, Lin Zifeng had no intention of stopping her. Instead, he quickly turned his head away to prevent himself from blurting out another remark that might make her stay. Wouldn’t she really not leave then?

If so, he would really have screwed up. Heaven knows what kind of crazy idea Mu Yang would come up with next, and by then, even if he wanted her to leave, she probably wouldn’t be willing to go.

”Then I won’t see you out,” Lin Zifeng responded.

”The company is only so big; there’s no need for you to escort me,” Mu Yang turned back and gave him a deep, piercing look. She had interacted with plenty of men before, but she had never encountered someone like him who seemed unimpressed by beautiful women. Could it be that this guy didn’t like women at all—or even dislike beautiful women?

When it came to her own appearance, Mu Yang was quite confident.

Looking at the entire Tianyu Group, there probably weren’t more than ten real beauties, and Mu Yang could definitely rank within the top six!

Being in her mid-twenties gave her an edge in mature charm, far surpassing recent innocent college graduates—in terms of age, experience, temperament, background, and knowledge, she was one of the standard representatives of high-level white-collar workers.

”Supervisor Mu, why are you here? I’ve just had a good wait for you,”

Just as Mu Yang was preparing to leave, Zhang Xixi walked out from her office. Passing by Lin Zifeng’s ’pigsty’, she glanced inside unintentionally and noticed Mu Yang there. Without thinking much, she walked in.

A moment ago, her subordinate Zheng Xiaofang had informed her that the IT department’s Supervisor Mu Yang was visiting, yet after waiting in her office for a long time without seeing anyone, she had decided to check.

”Uh, oh! I was just passing by and happened to see an old friend, so I stopped by to say hello,”

To cover up her embarrassment, Mu Yang quickly came up with an excuse, referring to Lin Zifeng as an ’old friend’.

This claim made Lin Zifeng roll his eyes; they had known each other for less than half a month—since when had he become her ’old friend’?

”You, you know him?”

Zhang Xixi’s beautiful eyes shimmered with surprise, and her slender, jade-like finger pointed at Lin Zifeng, who was leaning casually on the sofa.

”More than just knowing each other, we’re so familiar it couldn’t get any closer,”

Mu Yang gave him a meaningful glance and said with a smile.

Sitting on the sofa, Lin Zifeng really wanted to step forward and explain, but in the end, he held back. Adding more to the drama was not better than doing less—better to keep silent altogether.

Seeing Lin Zifeng with a bitter expression, Zhang Xixi was somewhat startled.

Mu Yang and Zhang Xixi had joined the company around the same time and were both handpicked by Nangong Bing as one of the best managers in their respective departments. Normally, the two women got along quite well. Although not close friends, they were both competitive colleagues who strove hard and supported each other at work.

After all, they were both women, chosen personally by Nangong Bing.

”Then, then I’m not interrupting you, am I? Why don’t you two continue chatting, and you can come to my office later,”

Zhang Xixi understood some social manners and, seeing Lin Zifeng’s cavalier attitude in front of Mu Yang, it wasn’t hard to guess the nature of their relationship.

”Xixi, you misunderstand. He and I are just ordinary friends. We’ve already had our conversation, and now we’re going to discuss business matters,”

Mu Yang quickly changed her tone, distancing her relationship with Lin Zifeng, afraid of being misunderstood.

”Is that, is that appropriate? You old friends meeting up like this, and not chatting more?” Zhang Xixi hesitated, stuttering slightly, as she thought she might have disrupted their catch-up.

”What’s appropriate or not? He and I are old friends; we’ll have plenty of chances to chat later,”

”Besides, it’s working hours now; I can’t mix personal matters with business and delay important things. Let’s go, Xixi, let’s talk business. If we’re free tonight, we could all go out for a meal, as a way for everyone to get to know each other.”

A mature woman in her twenties speaks and behaves differently from younger girls; it’s the mature and self-assured demeanor that sets her apart, clearly embarrassed yet appearing calm. In that moment, she thought of numerous ways to adjust the atmosphere,

Zhang Xixi nodded with a hint of gloom, thinking she had unfortunately disturbed their reunion. Now that Mu Yang seemed not to care, why should she dwell on it?

Two women walked shoulder to shoulder, their graceful figures with devilish curves indeed formed a beautiful scene, but unfortunately, Lin Zifeng was not in the mood to appreciate it.

In his eyes, everyone was simply a colleague, at most he would add the word ’good’ in front of ’friend’.

Nothing could possibly happen between them, especially not within a company, let alone a multinational corporation like Tianyu Group. Office romances were terrifying and could potentially disrupt the entire company’s order, which is why every company prohibited them. Lin Zifeng had his own issues to deal with, he didn’t have the time to chase after girls.

Not to mention, there were already two ”elves” at home.

Let’s not talk about Nangong Bing, that flower-like girl... Actually, her figure wasn’t bad either, hehe...

In the cramped office, Lin Zifeng sat alone on the sofa, smoking a cigarette and smiling foolishly...

When Mu Yang and Zhang Xixi came out side by side, it was almost time for lunch.

A morning spent playing games and reading novels, life started off pretty relaxed, but as time went on, Lin Zifeng grew restless.

It was boring, just plain boring.

As he was considering where to go for lunch, Mu Yang walked in with the demure-looking Zhang Xixi.

Ladies sure were strange creatures; sitting in the office drinking coffee, chatting away, and just like that, hours would pass.

They were able to just sit there.

”Lin Zifeng,” Mu Yang called out.

Lin Zifeng turned around reluctantly and said, ”Is there anything else you need, Manager Mu?”

”Have you had lunch yet?”

”Not yet.”

”That’s perfect, let’s go together!” Mu Yang chirped excitedly.

Damn, this cursed mouth.

Lin Zifeng reacted immediately, wishing he could slap himself twice.

”Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

Lin Zifeng stammered, trying to make light of the situation.

Seeing Zhang Xixi, who had been silent and demure the whole time behind Mu Yang, Lin Zifeng began to feel a little guilty.

He was extremely reluctant to have any kind of relationship with them and even less keen on the idea of developing any connection with them in his future life.

Now he had gone and entangled himself with someone he shouldn’t have.

All because of his own damned mouth.

”Today I’m treating, you can order whatever you like,” Mu Yang smiled generously: ”You’re not going to turn down my face, are you? You don’t even want to have lunch with me?”

”Well, alright then...”

Lin Zifeng opened his mouth, closed it, and finally accepted the invitation.

”Well then, why are you still standing there? Let’s go!”

Mu Yang led the way out, followed quickly by Zhang Xixi as they headed to the company cafeteria.
