Chapter 216 I’m Not a Thing

When the office door was opened, Lin Zifeng was seen smiling at a woman. The woman, startled at first, quickly adjusted her clothes and then ran out with her head bowed.

Lin Zifeng, with a smile on his face, slowly walked into the office. Seeing Zhang Fatty organizing his clothes in the boss’s chair, Lin Zifeng laughed heartily, ”Sorry, Director Zhang, I hope I didn’t interrupt anything just now?”

Lin Zifeng looked at Zhang Fatty with a half-smile, while the two women behind him blushed, seemingly disdainful of Zhang Fatty. Their expressions were particularly gloomy.

”Who, who are you?” Zhang Fatty lifted his head to look at Lin Zifeng, then shifted his gaze toward Meng Youjing and the other woman, becoming somewhat puzzled.

”Meng Youjing, what is this?”

Having just been at the top, suddenly being thrust down made Zhang Fatty feel extremely uncomfortable, hence his long face.

”Director Zhang, today we are here to discuss a contract matter with you.” Meng Youjing tried to maintain a smile, despite inwardly loathing the man. Nevertheless, she played her part, irked by Zhang Fatty’s ridiculous insistence on Huahua performing a bed scene with a certain star. Was all this trouble really necessary?

”Ha! Discuss a contract?” Zhang Fatty straightened his tie, his eyes dismissively glanced at them, then he scoffed, ”Discuss what contract? Haven’t your bosses told you clearly?”

”But the contract we previously discussed is absolutely not what you are suggesting now. So we want to discuss it, hoping...”

”Impossible.” Zhang Fatty, looking imposing, sharply interrupted Meng Youjing, scoffed, ”Let me tell you, Assistant Meng, let’s get the ugly words upfront. Don’t forget, it’s your Zhongxing Entertainment Company’s boss who begged us to discuss the contract. If you have any questions, just call your boss directly. That’s not my responsibility.”

Zhang Fatty leisurely took out a black cigar from his desk, his face full of pride, clearly making things difficult for them.

”You! How can you do this? I remember the contract clearly stated it was just about discussing script filming, not about large-scale filming.” Meng Youjing was slightly furious.

Being deceived and treated like a fool is something no one could stand.

”Hmph, Miss Meng, are you really naive, or are you pretending to be? Don’t you understand such simple things in the entertainment industry after all these years?” Zhang Fatty coldly scoffed again.

”Oh? Is that so? Are there unwritten rules in the entertainment industry as well?” Finally, the silent until now Lin Zifeng spoke up.

”Who are you? What the hell are you, and what right do you have to speak here?” Since the beginning, Zhang Fatty had noticed Lin Zifeng’s presence. He assumed Lin Zifeng was just a junior brought along by the women to bolster their front and had not paid much attention.

However, now that Lin Zifeng had spoken up, Zhang Fatty frowned, feeling uncomfortable. Behaving so wildly on his own turf was unbearable.

”Me? Haha, I’m not an object. May I ask Mr. Zhang, can I answer like that?” Lin Zifeng was still smiling as he looked at Zhang Fatso, his eyes gleaming fiercely, exuding an aura of ’I’m a hooligan, who am I afraid of?’

Even Huahua, who had been silent by his side, was somewhat shocked. Originally, she came with Lin Zifeng just to put on a show, to speak with pride, but she hadn’t expected this seemingly calm guy to suddenly start questioning Zhang Fatso, suddenly feeling a warm flow from within her heart.

”Kid, don’t think just because you’re young and your family has some money, you can act lawlessly. Let me tell you, kid, you need to keep a low profile. Didn’t your parents ever tell you that there are some people you can’t afford to mess with?” Zhang Fatso narrowed his eyes slightly, a glint of murderous intent flashing through them as he clasped a black cigar in one hand, his tone somewhat threatening.

”Haha, they never mentioned that. I wonder if Mr. Zhang could enlighten me? I’m just a greenhorn entering society and I really don’t understand it well. If Mr. Zhang is leisurely and elegant enough, why not explain it to me? Maybe I’ll get scared and might even kneel down to you.”

The meaning behind Lin Zifeng’s words was clearly mocking Zhang Fatso, the tone filled with ridicule, which seemed somewhat odd to hear.

”Kid, are you sick of living? Daring to make a scene in my company?” Zhang Fatso was furious, slamming his hand on the mahogany desk so hard that the computer started to shake slightly.

Seeing this, Huahua and Meng Youjing, already intimidated, quickly stepped back and anxiously glanced towards Lin Zifeng, hoping he would be more cautious, lest they not only be unable to return but might even find it difficult to leave the building. They knew all too well the chaos of the entertainment industry.

Most company bosses had shady backgrounds, especially this production company. Rumor had it that their behind-the-scenes boss was a prominent figure in Macau. If they truly offended him today, many unexpected things could happen.

”What if I said I really am sick of living, Mr. Zhang? What would you do to me then?”

Lin Zifeng, with his hands pressed on the desk, slowly leaned forward, a smile still on his face, his tone playful.

If this guy didn’t have a strong backing and dared to act so arrogantly, he could either be a tiger backed by a powerful figure or a lunatic.

At this moment, Zhang Fatso also seemed somewhat at a loss, looking at Lin Zifeng’s composed aura, he was really scared. Only heaven knew who this beast really was; maybe today he really had angered a devil.

Zhang Fatso’s facial muscles twitched slightly as he gritted his teeth and, from his mouth full of yellow teeth, he eked out a few words, ”Don’t know where you’re from, brother?”

”Mr. Zhang, I don’t quite understand what you mean by asking that?”

Lin Zifeng began to play dumb with this beast. You must fight fire with fire with such people; if you try to reason with them, it’s like playing the lute to a cow. People like Zhang Fatso who rely on powerful backers probably have shady backgrounds as well. When you talk sense to them, they just mess with you even more.

”Are you f***ing playing games with me?”

Zhang Fatso couldn’t hold back anymore and exploded, pointing at Lin Zifeng’s nose and cursing loudly, his face changing rapidly as if he had become a different person.

It seemed he wanted to march up to Lin Zifeng and slap him right away. Zhang Fatso had seen arrogance before, but this was the first time someone had dared be so arrogant inside his own company.
