Chapter 207: Turmoil in Macau

”Lin, who do you say is boasting? Am I, Nangong Bing, that kind of person? All this over a small promotion, and you have to insult me, Nangong Bing, in such a roundabout way? Let me tell you, I, Nangong Bing, will promote you tomorrow. Was there really a need to say such disgusting things to hurt someone?”

Nangong Bing felt depressed. It was just a tiny promotion; there was no need to talk about her so poorly. After all, she was the top director of Tianyu Group. There were still long days ahead. Now that you look down on me, how will you see me in the future?

”Alright then! I thank the boss in advance.”

Lin Zifeng muttered to himself, thinking how damn clever he was to come up with such a convoluted excuse.

However, Lin Zifeng’s excitement didn’t last for even half a minute before Nangong Bing suddenly said, ”Report to the Finance Department tomorrow.”

What! The Finance Department? Damn it! Isn’t that managed by Zhang Xixi? If I go there tomorrow to work, won’t it be like enemies meeting, extra red in the eye?

When the two returned home, they didn’t speak to each other, as if they had taken the wrong medicine. For Nangong Bing, talking to him was like playing the lute to a cow, out of sight, out of mind.

Better to avoid bringing trouble upon herself later.

But for Hua Buqi in Macau, it was a miserable night without sleep.

The agreed-upon commercial performance in Macau and the opportunity to film a series with her idol had turned sour when she discovered that her hero, so admired on TV, was not the same in reality.

On TV he was this and that kind of a hero, full of manliness, but in reality, just a big shot who loved to show off.

That was bad enough, but the beast even requested a private meeting with Hua Buqi.

After meeting, he actually suggested that Hua Buqi have dinner and see a movie with him alone. Meng Youjing had long seen through the trivial matters of the entertainment industry.

So the idol she had admired for years turned out to be such a scumbag.

But now she faced difficulties breaking the contract. If Hua Buqi did not cooperate with the production team’s demands, the other party would sue her for breach of contract. She had finally managed to get her reputation into Macau, only to encounter such persecution.

It seems the entertainment industry was not as simple as she had imagined.

What Hua Buqi found most unacceptable was that the production team actually asked her to film bed scenes and kissing scenes with her so-called idol!

This, this is a joke, right? I came to film a drama, not to shoot erotic scenes.

Facing such a depraved production team, the two women were unable to resolve the issue for the time being. After all, they were just the two of them in Macau, bound by the contract, and these days of riding the tiger were more agonizing than death.

”Meng sister, I am absolutely not going to shoot bed scenes. I’d rather breach the contract than do it,”

Hua Buqi lay on the couch in the star’s apartment, arms crossed, a face full of sorrowful anger.

Just thinking about the disgusting faces of the production team made Hua Buqi feel nauseous. She wondered if she was too naïve or had put these people on too high a pedestal.

She had thought this trip to Macau would fulfill her dream of stardom, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment.

”But, but if we breach the contract, not only do we face career threats, we might even have to pay a huge sum of compensation. Who would hire us for films in the future?”

At this moment, Meng Youjing was even more anxious than Hua Buqi, pacing back and forth in the room, her pretty and mature face filled with worry.

”Humph, what’s there to be afraid of? If push comes to shove, I, Hua Buqi, will simply not take this path anymore. I don’t care at all.”

When the young lady said these words, she truly meant them. Her father was one of the top directors of Tianyu Group. Could they possibly not afford to pay the money? However, Meng Youjing’s situation was different.

Hua Buqi’s success today was all thanks to Meng Youjing’s support. Who knows how much time she had wasted on her? And now to terminate the contract just like that, what was she, as her agent, going to do?

In the future, who would dare to seek her assistance?

What’s more crucial was that Meng Youjing had basically bet all her youth on Hua Buqi. If Hua Buqi was blocked from the industry due to the contract termination, wouldn’t that mean all her years of effort had been in vain?

Now, with Huahua saying she wouldn’t do it and just quitting like that, she really pushed Meng Youjing to desperation. She couldn’t possibly ignore Huahua’s feelings for her own selfish gain.

Watching Meng Youjing pacing back and forth like an ant on a hot pan, the young girl Hua Buqi felt somewhat sympathetic. Her adorable little mouth pouted, and her eyes spun around.

As if she had thought of something, she suddenly leaped up from the sofa.

Her white thighs flashed expansively with snow-white skin upon her springing up. If Lin Zifeng had been present, his eyes would probably be shining with ”Golden Light”.

”Meng sister, could you have overlooked someone?” Hua Buqi blinked her excited eyes several times, her tender cheeks blushing red with joy like those of a young child.

”Who?” Meng Youjing was startled by Hua Buqi’s sudden action, puzzled about whom Huahua was referring to.

”Meng sister, you couldn’t have really forgotten him, could you?” The young girl started to tease Meng Youjing.

”You’re not talking about him, are you?!” Meng Youjing stared with wide eyes in disbelief at Huahua.

In her recollection, Huahua had always disliked that person, detesting him even. So why would she think of him in this critical moment?

What baffled her most was that Huahua hadn’t specified who the person was, yet with a simple reminder, she instinctively thought of him first thing. Could this be...

At that thought, a ”clink” resounded in Meng Youjing’s heart.

”Meng sister, now it seems our only choice is to seek his help. You know that scoundrel’s greatest skill is tormenting people. I bet once he gets involved, we’ll definitely be out of trouble. Do you remember what happened last time with Ye Wudao?”

”You’re so sure he can help us?”

Meng Youjing didn’t have much interaction with Lin Zifeng, knowing only that he was shamelessly disgraceful and lacked any positive features.

”Hmph, he better! If not, I’ll just give him more money. Is he really going to refuse over such a trivial matter?”

”The problem is that we’re in Macau and he’s in Zhonghai, with such a distance between us, how could he possibly come over.”

Meng Youjing simply couldn’t believe that Lin Zifeng would travel from Zhonghai City to help her.

Others may not understand this guy, but could she, Hua Buqi, not understand him?

Furthermore, through what she had learned from Huahua these days about his ill-reputed words, Meng Youjing had almost lost all hope in him.

”Don’t worry, leave it to me.”

Seeing that Meng Youjing had almost agreed with her approach, the young girl instantly perked up. She ran barefoot into the room, grabbed her iPhone, and started dialing Lin Zifeng’s number.

But after calling out for a long time, there was no answer on Lin Zifeng’s side.

She then called Nangong Bing’s phone but still got no response.

This situation started to frustrate Hua Buqi.
