Chapter 218: What If I Say No

Lin Zifeng hardly took him seriously. Even with a hand arrow pressed against his head, he remained composed. The man was slightly surprised; this guy really had the guts, utterly fearless of death.

”It was your people who attacked first, I was merely defending myself. If I hadn’t acted just now, I probably would be the one lying on the ground,” Lin Zifeng said.

”Heh, you’re quite good at distorting the truth, aren’t you?” The man in the suit sneered. He had seen arrogant people, but never one like this—someone who injured his brother upon their first meeting and then had the audacity to preach to him about justice. It was as if he had the right to hurt people.

Inside the spacious office, the minions lay scattered all over the floor, clutching their heads and wailing in pain.

”Brother Qiang, kill this kid. This bastard just popped up out of nowhere and started causing trouble with those two bitches as soon as he entered our company. If we don’t teach them a lesson today, how can our company ever stand firm in Macau again?”

At that moment, Zhang Pudgy, who had been suppressed by Lin Zifeng, finally found his lifeline and hurriedly scuttled toward the man in the suit. His chubby face had turned deathly pale with fright.

Even his prescription glasses seemed to dangle in terror on the bridge of his nose.

He looked utterly disheveled.

Lin Zifeng, who had been standing with his back to the man, still hadn’t seen what the man behind him looked like. However, from the man’s tone of voice and his ghost-like footsteps, Lin Zifeng could tell that this guy must have been a member of the Special Combat Forces. At least, that’s what Lin Zifeng thought. The intuition between soldiers was incredibly sharp.

When it comes to their own kind, just one look and the expressed actions are usually enough to make a guess.

”Kid, you’re not big, but you’ve got guts. I’ll give you two choices today. Either you get shot dead by my arrow or you and those two little sluts put on a live adult show right here. Otherwise, none of you are leaving this place today,” the man said.

No sooner had the man finished speaking than the door burst open and dozens of men in black forced their way in, each wielding a machete, the very epitome of a modern-day black society.

From the moment Lin Zifeng stepped into the company, he had felt that this company was not as easy to deal with as he had imagined. He hadn’t expected them to be carrying a hand arrow, a weapon banned in Huaxia, suggesting they had a deep background. No wonder they insisted on forcing the girl to film bed scenes; these people were no different from thugs. Of course, Lin Zifeng showed no mercy to such people.

”What if I say no?” Lin Zifeng smiled, a smile full of sunlight, and then quickly flicked his wrist like lightning toward the hand arrow pointed at his head. He snatched the arrow weapon from the man’s hand and, with a series of professional military maneuvers, dismantled it at a speed invisible to the naked eye. Lin Zifeng stripped down the entire arrow chamber and the casing in an instant, even dismantling the trigger mechanism.

”You!” The man stared, watching his arrow weapon transform in his hand. But by the time he regained his senses, a huge fist was already rocketing towards his face.

Bang!

A dull thud of flesh striking flesh came from the man’s face, followed by a burst of fresh blood spraying from his nose and mouth.

”Blargh!”

The man’s tears were nearly falling from the pain, but Lin Zifeng wasn’t done yet. His fingers turned into claws, hooking the man’s right hand between them, and then, very clearly, Lin Zifeng bent the man’s right middle finger at an alarming speed until it completely flipped onto the back of his hand.

Before the man could scream, his ring finger followed, forcibly twisted by Lin Zifeng to the back of his hand. The searing pain that shot through all his fingertips into his brain was a feeling no one understood better than he did now.

”Can we sit down and have a good talk?”

Lin Zifeng’s smile bordered on a sneer as he stared into the man’s eyes, almost driving the man insane with his seemingly harmless expression.

”Fuck off!”

The man was considered a dominant figure in his own right; how could he possibly admit defeat in front of his numerous followers?

”Well then, let’s continue playing.”

”Crack!”

Another crisp and pleasant sound of a dislocating bone suddenly rang out, as the man’s thumb was deformed once again. The pain was so severe that he barely held back a scream, and tears were almost spilling from his eyes.

But this scene terrified many of the subordinates present. Doubts began to creep into their minds, and none wanted to be the first to act. In the end, it was Fat Zhang who took the lead, grabbing the folder from the office desk and hurling it at Lin Zifeng’s head.

However, Lin Zifeng’s right leg bent slightly, and with a swift back kick, without even turning his head, Fat Zhang was sent flying, slamming heavily into the corner of the room, his eyes rolling back as if he were dead.

At this moment, Hua Buqi and the other woman were incredibly shocked and scared out of their wits. They had never seen Lin Zifeng this ferocious. Today’s scene would indeed haunt them for the rest of their lives.

The burly men surrounding the man saw Lin Zifeng knock out Fat Zhang with a kick, and none of them rushed forward first. They weren’t fools; with seven or eight of their unconscious brothers lying on the ground, anyone with a bit of sense knew they had run into big trouble today.

”Can we talk now?” Lin Zifeng’s voice, akin to that of a demon, rang out again.

”Kid, today I admit defeat; if you dare, just kill me!”

The man was still screaming with all his might, appearing incredibly brave in front of his underlings. This only made Lin Zifeng more enthusiastic; he didn’t believe the man could hold out. After all, in the world of mercenaries, there was no one who couldn’t be subdued with tough tactics. In Dark Prison, the old man had taught him techniques to subdue an enemy, which even someone as willful as him couldn’t bear, much less a special forces soldier who was only a bit tougher than an average person.

”Alright.” Lin Zifeng acted again, this time breaking all of the man’s remaining fingers in succession. Then, with a tight grip, he held the unnaturally bent-back, deathly pale fingers in his palm.

”Crack crack crack!”

A series of crisp sounds followed.

The fingers that had been bent back were now broken back into place by Lin Zifeng, causing the man such pain that he nearly cried out for his mother.

Even the followers standing around were shocked to their cores, feeling deep sympathy for the pain they witnessed—Huahua was too frightened to even look.

Out of consideration for the two women present, Lin Zifeng grabbed the man’s arm and dragged him out of the office, making sure to lock the office door behind them. Using such cruel methods was something he did not want them to witness, lest he be forever seen in their eyes as a brutal uncle instead of just a beastly one.

Once outside the office, Lin Zifeng continued to ask with an indifferent smile, ”Can we talk now?” Lin Zifeng was still the same, his demeanor as calm and composed as ever, as if it had been maintained throughout the ages.
