Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 223: Chapter 226: Young Master I’m Not Doing This Anymore

Chapter 226 I’m Done Working

If Nangong Bing had an arrow in her hand at that moment, she probably would have shot Lin Zifeng without hesitation, as she wished she could just slap him dead.

When the sports car parked by the curb, Nangong Bing’s originally cold face sank once again. Her bright, expressive eyebrows were knitted tightly together like vermicelli noodles, preparing to properly scold Lin Zifeng and vent her dissatisfaction with him.

However, as soon as Lin Zifeng rushed up with a small bag in hand, he preemptively faced her and shouted with spittle flying, ”I’m telling you, Nangong Bing, you’ve gone too far this time! Don’t, don’t think you can bully us security guards like that, it’s not right to treat someone like this. Do you have any idea how I almost lost my life just now...?”

At that moment, Lin Zifeng didn’t care about Nangong Bing’s status. And even a clay figure would have a spark of anger, let alone him. What kind of situation was this? You were the one who insisted on calling him back, yet you decided to drive around in your sports car and tease him instead of picking him up as agreed? Is it okay to toy with someone like this? Being beautiful doesn’t make you great. Does being beautiful mean you don’t have to treat others with any respect?

”You!”

Nangong Bing’s eyebrows furrowed even more intensely. Under the public eye, she didn’t have Lin Zifeng’s thick skin; after all, she was an executive at Tianyu Group, and she had to maintain a bit of her dignity. But who was Lin Zifeng? He was just a lousy security guard waiting to die, with skin as thick as a city wall, not caring who Nangong Bing was. After all, there was no such thing as superior or inferior status between people, and besides, she was also a distinguished Stanford graduate from the United States. Didn’t she even have the basic manners to show respect to others?

”What ’you’? Am I wrong?” Lin Zifeng, holding his luggage, was obviously getting angry. After all, he was a hot-blooded man, and this valueless thing called vigor was still inside him.

”Get in the car!”

Nangong Bing took off her sunglasses and glared at him fiercely, then turned her head with a haughty attitude, not wanting to acknowledge him. Her slender, jade-like fingers tightly gripped the steering wheel.

Lin Zifeng, unimpressed with her attitude, shouldered his luggage and declared to Nangong Bing, ”I won’t work for you anymore today. Go find someone else.”

Having said that, Lin Zifeng confidently walked toward the crowd with his luggage, and in just a brief moment, many onlookers gathered around, half drawn by Nangong Bing’s top-notch sports car and the other half by Nangong Bing’s beauty. Likely, these people had never seen a Heavenly Immortal beauty being rejected by such an ordinary-looking guy, someone whom no one would give a second glance if lost in a crowd.

The facial expressions of everyone present were priceless.

”You, Lin! Come back here! I command you to come back!”

Nangong Bing was now also infuriated.

No matter what, she was the top executive of Tianyu Group. Not to mention status, based on looks alone, she was probably unmatched in the whole Zhonghai City. Moreover, Nangong Bing was naturally proud to her bones, but now, in front of so many people, Lin Zifeng dared to reject her? This was like a surreal dream.

Suddenly, her fair face inadvertently revealed a hint of rosiness, clearly showing she was embarrassed.

Lin Zifeng walked away with style, not even looking back, heading straight across the street from the airport. He didn’t care about Nangong Bing’s mood at the moment.

No matter how she tried to stop him, Lin Zifeng didn’t turn back, and the faces around them became even more expressive.

Meanwhile, Nangong Bing’s anger made her ravishing chest heave with distress.

Women can be terrifying, especially angry beautiful women are even more so.

Since Lin Zifeng was unwilling to get in her car, Nangong Bing couldn’t possibly let go of her pride to beg him. She sped down the road in her sports car, causing other drivers to be forced to stop, preparing to swear at her, but then they realized the driver was a stunningly beautiful woman, which dissipated their anger.

After leaving the airport, Lin Zifeng went to hail a cab with manly determination, only to discover, quite tragically, that he was penniless! He had nothing but a card in his pocket, and even the airplane ticket he bought for the flight was pre-booked by the little girl over the phone.

This situation made Lin Zifeng feel rather testy, ”Without a penny, even a hero finds it tough,” let alone Lin Zifeng who never liked to call himself a hero—a title often short-lived in history.

If he had been overseas, Lin Zifeng could have joked his way into a free ride, but the crucial point was, this was Huaxia!

What was Huaxia? It was the land of money. You want to ride without paying? If his former brothers knew he was trying to hitch a free ride in his own country, they would laugh him to death.

With no other choice, Lin Zifeng felt his pocket and found a taxi business card lying there, so he took it out.

Lin Zifeng smiled wryly. This card was from the first time he returned to the country. He had gotten it from a beautiful cab driver, whom he later had another chance meeting with at a bus stop. Thinking about it now, it was indeed quite amusing.

However, Lin Zifeng was not too keen on getting involved with her again. After all, those two encounters had brought her enough trouble, and besides, he was now at Zhonghai City International Airport. Heaven only knows if she would come to pick him up.

”Hey, young man, where are you headed?”

As Lin Zifeng was lost in thought, a driver in a Beijing Hyundai stuck his head out of his car. Seeing Lin Zifeng with luggage on his shoulder, he could tell that Lin Zifeng was looking for a taxi.

Therefore, he approached with the intention of soliciting a fare. These rogue drivers, typically idle and wandering around stations and airports with their private cars, waited for prey to emerge. They’d strike up a conversation, chattily pretending to be friends, while in reality, they’d be coldly calculating how to fleece you.

Lin Zifeng ignored him and continued to look around for passing cars.

But the traffic at Zhonghai City International Airport was indeed heavy, and even hailing a cab was difficult. There was a designated waiting area inside the airport, and once you left the pick-up area, it was hard to find a ride. Besides, those foreigners weren’t exactly short of money.

Just like Lin Zifeng right now, who had put on airs in front of Nangong Bing just a while back, but was now somewhat regretful.

”Young man, where are you going? Just tell your big brother here. It’s tough for everyone when you’re out and about. If I can help, I’ll do what I can.”

The rogue driver was a nearly forty-year-old middle-aged man with fair skin but without a soft look, sporting a big belly. He wore a thick gold chain around his neck as if it were a dog leash, exuding an aggressive and thuggish vibe. At a glance, he didn’t seem like someone short of cash.

Lin Zifeng still did not respond to him and casually glanced at his Earl wristwatch. The middle-aged man seemed to notice the branded watch on Lin Zifeng’s wrist, and his heart grew fervently eager.

”Young man, relax. I’m not a bad guy. You look like you’re new in town, unfamiliar with Zhonghai City. Today you’ve met me, and I’m just a few years older than you, a former soldier to boot. You can trust me; I won’t do you any harm.”
