Chapter 233: Chapter 236 This is Publicly Stepping on Someone

Chapter 236: This Is Public Humiliation

”Is what he said true?”

Zhang Xixi’s delicate, pale fingers stealthily moved toward her own back, visibly trembling with nerves, although others did not catch it, but she couldn’t escape Lin Zifeng’s piercing gaze.

Lin Zifeng coughed twice, cleared his throat, and gave everyone present a casual smile that seemed very relaxed and natural as he said, ”Colleagues, I am a new employee in the Finance Department, my name is Lin Zifeng. Today is my first day and I look forward to your guidance.”

After Lin Zifeng finished speaking, the crowd burst into an uproar.

No one understood the meaning of Lin Zifeng’s words.

But Lin Zifeng still smiled and said, ”Today is my first day, and I’m not very familiar with the management and work arrangement of the Finance Department. Fortunately, Sister Zheng Xiaofang from our department welcomed me and even took the initiative to notify Director Zhang, as you just witnessed.”

Lin Zifeng smiled at Zhang Xixi, then glanced out of the corner of his eye at Zheng Xiaofang, who stood dumbfounded nearby. When she heard Lin Zifeng mention her name, Zheng Xiaofang’s pretty face flushed, and she cast a resentful look at Lin Zifeng. Then, changing her tone, she pointed at Zhang Huo, who was covering his mouth and moaning, and sneered, ”On my first day, I didn’t expect to be cursed by someone who claims to be a colleague, a ’watchdog’. Do you think he deserved to be hit? Moreover, he directly insulted our Security Department brothers in front of everyone. Are you human and they are not? Although I used to be a security guard, what about it? Being a security guard is also a promising career. Without those security guards working day and night, could you live so leisurely?”

Lin Zifeng’s tone was pressing as he first clarified his own role, then brought the brothers from the Security Department into it, causing all the brothers from the Security Department present to look grim, their eyes turning to the stunned Zhang Huo.

He never imagined that the person he had insulted as a ’watchdog’ was promoted to the Finance Department by the higher-ups.

Suddenly, his heart faltered; Lin Zifeng’s status now seemed higher than his. Just a moment ago, he had looked down on them for being security guards in a haughty manner, but now he could feel several hostile glances scanning him.

Trying to outmaneuver these madmen from the Security Department was practically seeking death. Normally, if they started troubling you, it wouldn’t just be embarrassing, but also oppressive.

”You! You’re outright slandering me! When did I ever insult you? And you, a newcomer on your first day, openly flirting in front of everyone, engaging in nepotism with the receptionist, do you deserve the trust given to you by your superiors? I was just criticizing you, and you resorted to violence. How can Tianyu Group tolerate such a menace!” saying so, Zhang Huo then pointed accusingly at the two receptionists.

The two new receptionists were instantly terrified into silence, nervously shaking their heads without saying a word.

Their eyes were full of panic.

Zhang Huo’s ability to curry favor wasn’t cultivated overnight; he might lack other skills, but his ability to speak sycophantically, distort facts, and engage in verbal disputes was somewhat competent.

But unfortunately, he was up against someone like Lin Zifeng, an exceptional character.

Lin Zifeng buried his head and chuckled, then explained to everyone present, ”Yes, I did chat with the two receptionists for a while, but that was all work-related. Who said I was flirting? Just ask them, and see if I’m telling the truth. The reason I hit you is because you were speaking foully. If I don’t teach you a lesson today, who can guarantee you won’t mistake our clients for watchdogs someday!”

When he reached the word ”dog,” Lin Zifeng deliberately emphasized it.

”You’re spouting nonsense! Do you think I can’t tell a client from a dog?” Zhang Huo was almost hysterically shouting. His eyes, bloodshot, were fixed on Lin Zifeng’s face, which carried a cold smirk.

Lin Zifeng then coldly smiled at Zhang Huo, ”Then, tell me, when I arrived just now, why did you keep calling me ’little security guard’? Can’t you tell that I am the new employee in the Finance Department? Are security guards just watchdogs in your eyes? Heh! Surprising, considering you don’t hold a high position, yet you oversee quite a lot. Maybe someday a new client comes to the Finance Department and you mistake them for a dog? You’re really turning the world upside down! If I don’t teach you a lesson today, won’t you become even more rampant and disregard everything? Who gave you so much authority?” Lin Zifeng’s words pressed hard against Zhang Huo’s beating heart, each shift in tone stabbing sharply like a dagger.

Under Lin Zifeng’s powerful aura, Zhang Huo was completely dumbfounded.

When everyone turned their gazes toward the two receptionists, the receptionists were not fools either. They quickly claimed that Lin Zifeng was only discussing the basic situation of the company’s Finance Department with them. They were not fools; if they directly mentioned Lin Zifeng inviting them out for lunch in front of so many people, that would cause a huge commotion and might even cost them their jobs unwittingly.

Lin Zifeng’s words were sharp, his gaze piercing, his face cold and chiseled, slowly breaking into a sneer. He waved his hand dramatically and pointed at Zhang Huo, saying with stirring words, ”I was personally appointed by President Nangong today. You questioning me is like questioning President Nangong herself. Are you doubting her decisions too? If you think President Nangong’s decisions are wrong, you might as well go directly to her and let us confront each other face to face to see if my words just now were false.”

At those words, Zhang Huo was already completely dumbfounded, realizing he had utterly fallen into this young man’s trap today.

Even with his eloquence, he probably wouldn’t stand a chance against him. Now that he even brought up the president, no amount of backing could outplay the president.

This is obviously a blatant trampling!

There could hardly be a more humiliating way to trample someone.

Wow...

”Clap, clap, clap...!”

No one knew who started it, but a burst of enthusiastic applause erupted from the crowd, especially from the security brothers, who were incredibly passionate, probably going home with hands swollen like buns, yet fearless.

But one thing that also puzzled the security department brothers was, since when did Lin Zifeng become part of the Finance Department? Could it be he had a dual career?

This was incredibly badass.

Even Zheng Xiaofang, the beauty who initially received Lin Zifeng, was equally shocked. She never expected that Lin Zifeng’s rhetorical skills were this mind-blowingly impressive. He had initiated the physical altercation, yet now he twisted the facts so seamlessly that even the normally articulate Zhang Huo was played for a fool.
