After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 777: Chapter 781: Meeting Leng Zimo Again

Mike went to the agency to help her find a place, and Luo Xiaoqian returned to the hotel where she and her son were staying.

After lunch, she left John to watch over Luo Jun as he took a nap, and Luo Xiaoqian took another bodyguard, David, with her to Babao Mountain Cemetery to tidy her father’s grave.

She instructed David to wait at the foot of the mountain and made her way up to her father’s unmarked tombstone.

From afar, she saw a bunch of flowers placed in front of the tombstone, which were already slightly wilted.

Knowing it was Leng Lin who had visited, Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t surprised. She took out her father’s favorite liquor from the bag David carried and poured three cups in his honor. Then she knelt down and carefully wiped the tombstone clean, whispering to her father, ”Dad, don’t blame your daughter for not bringing anything. I can’t let Uncle Leng and his family know where I am right now.”

To avoid meeting the Leng family, she would always choose to visit the cemetery specially before or after Qingming Festival each year.

”However, it won’t be long. Xu Pei has already returned, and I guess that man will appear soon. Once I find out their details, I’ll be able to come back openly. If your spirit is watching over me from heaven, please protect your daughter... Xiao Jun is starting to understand things, and I’m afraid he’ll ask too many questions, so I didn’t bring him with me. Don’t be angry, Dad. In the future, I’ll bring him to visit you often. Everything is fine with Mom, our old house is still there. In a few days, when all this is over, I’ll figure out a way to bring you and Mom together in one grave. Then, you two can be together forever...”

Standing up, she bowed three times to her father, then put her sunglasses back on.

”I’m leaving now, take care of yourself.”

As she turned and descended the hill, Luo Xiaoqian didn’t immediately leave. Instead, she paused in front of a shady tree, took a side path, and arrived at Mother Leng’s grave.

There were several bunches of flowers in front of Mother Leng’s grave, which clearly indicated that the Leng family had visited.

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t linger for long; she just stood there for a while and paid her respects before leaving with David.

On the way back, just as she rounded a pine tree and casually raised her hand to tidy the stray hairs by her ear, she caught a glimpse of a figure on the staircase from the corner of her eye.

The man had a tall stature, dressed in a lead-grey suit, with his left hand in his pocket and his right hand holding a bunch of fresh white lysimachia. His short, neat hair framed a chiseled, handsome face with sunglasses concealing sharp eyes, exuding a distinct aura of authority in his every movement.

The moment she saw the man, Luo Xiaoqian felt as if she had been struck by lightning.

Because that man was none other than Leng Zimo.

Why would he be here at the cemetery today? Was he not supposed to come on Qingming Festival?

In a panic, Luo Xiaoqian abruptly stopped and looked around before hiding behind the ornamental shrub wall by the side of the road.

Even though she knew he didn’t remember her now, she still didn’t dare to take the risk. Carefully hiding behind the tree, she held her breath, listening to his approaching footsteps, her heartbeat uncontrollably accelerating, pounding heavily in her chest.

Leng Zimo descended and, unaware of her presence, passed by her side to his mother’s grave.

He removed the sunglasses from his face, bent down, and placed the lysimachia in front of his mother’s tombstone, ”Mom, I’m sorry, there was a problem at the company on Qingming Festival, so I only came to see you today.”

As he spoke, he habitually took out a handkerchief to wipe the tombstone.

From a distance, Luo Xiaoqian timidly parted the branches, secretly peering out from behind the bushes.

Good afternoon.
