Chapter 768: Chapter 772: The Plan from Five Years Ago

Leng Zimo raised his hand and pressed the intercom button, ordering directly, ”Bring in the Qingdao real estate planning case for me.”

This piece of land had been bought for five years, and for all that time, it was in gradual development.

Because it was all peripheral construction previously, everything was proceeding according to Leng Zimo’s original conception. Other than reporting performance to him, the developers involved only needed to update him on the progress without touching upon the development of that central piece of real estate.

With Leng Zimo participating in this project, the construction of the surrounding high-rise buildings and residential communities had achieved remarkable success due to the overall city planning.

It was only after the developers saw the profit that they proposed revising the development plan for the central area to Leng Zimo, which consequently led him to send Seo Fei to inspect the site.

On the developer’s side, various documents were already in the process of approval, but due to the government’s increasingly tight control over real estate developers in recent years, the paperwork was not going smoothly.

However, starting construction ahead of schedule was always an unspoken rule within the industry.

Normally, such matters went unnoticed unless someone blew the whistle or if there was a resident uproar.

Yet, no one had anticipated that Little Luojun would stumble upon this issue, and Luo Xiaoqian had exposed it to protect her home, which ended up on the news.

”President Leng.” A staff member from the president’s office walked in, presenting a stack of documents on his desk, ”Here is the original planning case for Qingdao real estate that you requested.”

Leng Zimo nodded lightly and picked up the planning case from the table.

As the staff member exited, he had already opened the planning case, carefully flipping through it page by page. When he arrived at the section regarding the best coastal real estate in the middle, he just slightly furrowed his brows.

”Maintain the status quo?”

This piece of land was right next to a large stretch of beach and was also near a vast wetland forest strip. The air and the scenery were splendid, perfect for selling villas—but why did he decide to leave this place untouched back then?

Leng Zimo found it incomprehensible.

In his current perspective, it seemed like an utterly unreasonable decision.

Studying the planning case in his hands, Leng Zimo’s brow furrowed as he fell into deep thought.

He knew himself well; every decision he made had a reason behind it, and this one must have too.

Only, he thought long and hard, yet came up with nothing.

He remembered going to Qingdao and taking on this piece of land, which wasn’t viewed favorably at the time, but his memories were fragmented, as if there were gaps.

Jumping abruptly from one scene to another.

This phenomenon wasn’t new, and Leng Zimo felt annoyed as he set aside the planning case, took out a cigar from the drawer, placed it between his lips, lit it, and slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke. Watching the light blue smoke dissipate into the air did not relax or soothe him; instead, it brought another matter to mind.

Something related to the cigar.

He vaguely remembered quitting smoking for a period, but he couldn’t recall why he had decided to quit.

Could it be that there was a problem with his brain, why were these occurrences becoming frequent?!

He rested the cigar in the ashtray and habitually glanced to the left side of his computer.

On the left side of his computer was a small clay figurine.

It was a chubby little girl wearing a Tang suit, her hair tied up into two buns, her face adorned with two large eyes and a radiant smile.
