After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 770: Chapter 774: Do you want to live in Beijing?

”Okay.”

Leng Zimo hung up the phone and took another look at the clay figurine in his hand.

He couldn’t remember why he had bought something like this, but he truly liked this doll, so he carefully put it back in its place and arranged it properly.

Without dwelling too much on these questions, he refocused his attention on his work.

Following the success of ”Magic Realm”, the company was considering investing in the production of ”Magic Realm 2”. Having lost Ailin, his capable assistant, his workload had increased a lot, naturally leaving him little time for idle thoughts.

Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant.

Luo Jun carefully arranged the duck slices on his plate and handed them to Luo Xiaoqian, ”Mom, you eat too!”

”Thank you,” Luo Xiaoqian said with a smile as she took it and then reached for a napkin to wipe the sauce from the corner of his mouth, ”Is it tasty?”

”Yeah.” Luo Jun nodded vigorously, ”It’s a million times better than the roast duck in Chinatown.”

”Then you should eat more,” Luo Xiaoqian replied with a smile.

The little guy immediately started to skillfully use his chopsticks to pick up duck slices and roll them up for himself. After rolling up the duck meat, he took a big bite and kept exclaiming while chewing, ”Beijing’s Chinese food is so delicious, it would be great if we could stay here in the future.”

”Do you like it here?” Luo Xiaoqian asked.

”Of course,” Luo Jun looked around, ”Everyone here looks like me. In kindergarten, when I speak Chinese, they don’t understand; when I say we eat with chopsticks, they look at me as if I were an alien.”

Luo Xiaoqian’s motions of eating roast duck stiffened a bit, as this was the first time she had heard Luo Jun complain about the loneliness of his school life.

Considering safety issues, Luo Xiaoqian had not chosen to live in an area with a larger Asian population, and the kindergarten Luo Jun attended seldom had Chinese children. To help create a Chinese-speaking environment for Luo Jun, who had been receiving a Chinese-oriented education since he was little, she specially hired Mike, who had studied in China, as an assistant. However, even so, Luo Jun’s level of Chinese was still somewhat below that of children in China.

He was about to turn four, and in two years would start primary school. Luo Xiaoqian inevitably worried about what level his Chinese would reach with only her teaching.

After all, his roots were here, and she didn’t want him to become a ”Banana Person”, a yellow-skinned ABC (American Born Chinese).

”Mo Mo, would you like to live in Beijing?”

”Really? Can we?” The little guy immediately looked at her with eyes shining.

”Mom is considering opening a branch office in Beijing. If you’d like, you can come here to continue your studies. However, it will take some time to move the focus of the work here, and Mom might frequently have to fly between here and there, so I might not always be able to be with you,” Luo Xiaoqian said seriously.

Though he was still a child, she always spoke to him as if he were a little adult, cultivating his ability to think independently.

Luo Jun looked at her with a face full of longing, ”Mom also flies back and forth a lot in the United States, I can take care of myself.”

Hearing him say this, Luo Xiaoqian felt only a pang of guilt.

In order to give him a good living environment, to empower herself, she had been working hard for the past five years. Naturally, this affected the care she could provide for Luo Jun. Even in the United States, due to work commitments, she was frequently away from home.
